Sure. Oh i should probably note that this ship can fail if you don't do the sequence switches correctly. Hardest one is the second one where you jettison the first rockets, because they can destroy this finely crafted spacecraft. So wait a few seconds before activating the second rockets. http://www.mediafire.com/?qscj7xm4cjhyyvi
I fixed that by allowing the liquid thruster to start with all others at the start. So when you separate, you still have some thrust, it does waste a bit if fuel though.
I don't get it
I'm probably wrong, but it looks as if he's flown back to and landed inside of the VAB, meaning the Kermans have survived a true round-trip flight.
I'm probably wrong, but it looks as if he's flown back to and landed inside of the VAB, meaning the Kermans have survived a true round-trip flight.
He landed on the roof. Like this.
My best rocket so far. Quality isn't too great because I didn't want to wait several hours for it to upload.
He landed on the roof. Like this.
Oh wow, that's awesome. I never got a sense of the actual scale of the VAB so I didn't notice there was a vehicle there. Looked like an antennae or something. Also has anyone tried to create a powered multi-stage lander similar to the Lunar Excursion Module? I've been trying to figure out a way to make something like an LLRV, but being that there aren't any parts from which to construct a frame, I've hit a wall. I'll probably be waiting until they release support struts in an update, which was mentioned by a dev on the forums.
does fraps crash the game for anyone else?

What about making a space station? It would have solar power, so it keeps itself slowly orbiting or staying where it stopped, and making it dockable, so you can refill your fuel with the next spaceship at the space station.

Gonna start logging the adventures of the multiple iterations of my ship, Atmospheric Penetration Apparatus APA-1: Broke the atmosphere, accidentally got stuck in the grasp of space. Jeb smiled a lot. APA-2: The command capsule fell off and the whole thing collapsed as if it were fainting. APA-3: TBA.
I can't fucking wait until this game is further along in development and undoubtedly has other planets and space stations and stuff

Technically you could make a "space station" out of another command module and say, a fuel canister. Launch into space, deploy that as a stage into orbit, then deorbit your ship. Technically. Maybe.
They will add space station later on.
A dev has stated on the forum for the game that they plan on adding EVA, orbital rendezvous and docking, station building, more planets, and better orbital instrumentation. Probably a whole lot more.
Hahaha, I really have no idea how to play this APA-3 just tipped over and crashed in to the launch tower thing [editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
Ha. Peneration.
When I built it I thought about thrusting a cartload of dicks through the atmosphere
Finally reached orbit. Just passed into the dark side, hopefully, I'll make a few orbits before splashdown.
Would be nice to be able to select to spawn in space as well, just so you can test out hwo orbital stages of your wip rockets handle.
Or how about a horizontal takeoff? If you wanna focus on going far instead of going high
Or how about a horizontal takeoff? If you wanna focus on going far instead of going high
already happening.
Or how about a horizontal takeoff? If you wanna focus on going far instead of going high
There's a thread about wings in the official forums, harvester replied with this:
These winglets provide deflection lift only. That is, they're not true airfoils, and fly as well as a wooden plank Later there will be wings, that will provide airfoil lift as well. The winglets/fins serve mainly for stabilization. It is possible however, to use them as wings. They're not terribly efficient, but if you balance them well, they do provide some lifting power. Cheers

Three things I really want: • Re-entry effect • Space station (maybe even making one!) and the ability to dock them • A natural satellite for us to land on
Already happening.
Three things I really want: • Re-entry effect • Space station (maybe even making one!) and the ability to dock them • A natural satellite for us to land on
I'm almost sure all of these will be added. I notice you're unbanned xeon :v: automerge breaker! [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] By the way: notice how the roads are gone when you launch your rocket.

I love this game. I managed to reach 350km today in what it would not be too difficult to describe as a mini Saturn V... it was just missing the mid-sized middle section.. which I couldn't build because we don't have the parts, it was just the really big liquid engine at the bottom and a little liquid engine at the top below the command module. I was so proud. An orbit is gonna need those middle stages, though. I have a question, probably stupid but how do I zoom in and out? I don't think it was explained in the tutorial, and it'd be really handy for the building process, at the moment I can only build so high because eventually it all just gets cut off at the edges of the screen. Also, @HarvesteR: Have you thought about music yet? I used to play a spaceflight simulator called Orbiter (which is more realistic, and also free, but is really hard as a result), and there was an audio pack for it which included this track, which only played once you had left the atmosphere and entered space. It was a really nice song to listen to whilst sitting in orbit around the earth. Maybe it's not really in keeping with the tone of the game, I don't know.. but I think it'd be nice to have it in there.
I love this game, just sent a rocket up to 2000 KM!
