Alright, thanks. I'm only seeing 1.8 on the site...where is 1.8.2?
http://www.mediafire.com/?pri1ehlccbyvr51
How does one kill a single crew member. All I've been able to do is kill all 3 at once.
Paused the game at a lucky time really.
Apapsis: 526843 meters Periapsis: 40324 meters Apogee: 1507.1 meters/second Perigee: 2652.1 meters/second My first real attempt to get an orbit and I got the most eliptical, lucky orbit I possibly could. It's done 4 full revolutions now, with a margin of error in the periapsis/apapsis being only 3 meters. Success. I'm leaving it running with Cheat Engine set to Speed: 500 to see if it's a stable orbit.
I have an idea, each type of engine should have two types, one that is as it is now and the other has a covering that blows off when the engine is activated. I know that this has been suggested, I'm just suggesting a possible way of doing it.
I've found that stacking SAS modules is quite handy for not backflipping.
Well, the code I changed to fix the pod vs PunchOut problem was the same bit of code that handles that kind of thing. Haven't tested, but it's likely it will be at least, erm, different now ;) Cheers
I sometimes get the no pickup bug, except not as often. Also, things like to not be deleted sometimes, or whenever I use symmetry it'll fuck up sometimes. Basically, you fixed most of it, but it still occurs (Although not as often)

I found a glitch with the symmetry, not a big deal. I had triple fuel pods and liquid engine, and radial decouplers with 3 SRB's going out. On the outer layer I put on an SAS module with the symmetry, but with the inner layer of SRB's, it didn't go on the third rocket, the one on the left. I tried it again and it did the same thing. [editline]12th July 2011[/editline] I re-did the rockets and it worked this time.

That was fucking amazing, too bad it exploded.
haha alright I give up on trying to orbit. It isn't being nice.
That was fucking amazing, too bad it exploded.
I did another run shortly after, only this time without SAS activated, and it did the same thing but the rockets dodged the command module. I wish I'd recorded that one. Anyway, my orbit is running at 15 hours, 30 minutes (sped up with Cheat Engine) stably, so I don't think it's going to crash anytime soon.
Whats a good keyboard setup for this? I dont have a joystick.
I think I might be in orbit, guess I'll leave it running and find out Welp passed over half the planet so far, but this could just be a really long arc. Also does someone want to write / link to a tutorial on speeding this up with Cheatengine?

[t]http://i.imgur.com/2Q3mU.jpg[/t] This is a good idea. (Notice: engines already exploding) [t]http://i.imgur.com/6O33s.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/b3Bh0.jpg[/t] It appears as thou- [t]http://i.imgur.com/7kh0m.jpg[/t] Welp.
You should stagger them instead of put them in perfect columns. That way the exhaust won't directly be on another SRB. Might work... better...ish
11500000m and climbing.
Managed to orbit around to the darkside, then I ran out of fuel. Looking at https://gist.github.com/1073201 seems I'll be landing, bad news is that I don't have a chute :( Wondering if I'm reading it right, so if I'm now at 550km going 2322m/s, but the Escape velocity for that height is 2477m/s, I will be landing somewhere?
They need to do something about how easily the SRB's overheat.
I think it might has to do with preventing you from mass spamming them. Although they should improve the durability of parts that aren't engines imo Also I wonder if anyone can get into orbit < 1 KM. The orbit I'm in is really bad, 244KM to 427KM. I'll bring her out of orbit with my tiny bit of fuel for the shit of it (I've done quite a few revolutions)
They need to do something about how easily the SRB's overheat.
You could always just deattach them before they overheat.

Overheats like a bitch for no reason. 1 Solid, 3 side couplered to it, the outer 3 are fine but once they detach, the 1 rocket left overheats in a second. [editline]12th July 2011[/editline]
You could always just deattach them before they overheat.
Unless they are under you.
I wish I could visit other planets.
They need to do something about how easily the SRB's overheat.
The SRBs are supposed to overheat like crazy. But if you place more parts (that aren't also SRBs) near them, they should absorb some of the heat. There is a heat propagation system in place. Heat transfers from part to part, and also radiates out to the atmosphere. Later on the plan is to add Radiator parts, that will have very good heat conductivity and dissipation, to bleed out excess heat from those engines. In fact, that is already possible right now. It's just a matter of tweaking the cfgs (look for the heatConductivity and heatDissipation values) Cheers
i thought i was in orbit, then i noticed i was 330km high and it's still rising [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] it keeps FUCKING GOING STOP IT I WANTED TO ORBIT
I got into orbit at 12km. Still trying to push down to < 1 km.
Does fuel go through lateral couplers?
i thought i was in orbit, then i noticed i was 330km high and it's still rising [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] it keeps FUCKING GOING STOP IT I WANTED TO ORBIT
You can orbit up there (I try for 50KM but I always end up floating up to 400KM)
I got into orbit at 12km. Still trying to push down to < 1 km.
If you're that low the air should slow you down and then you'll come out of orbit, unless you somehow have infinite fuel. So I wouldn't really call it an orbit, just a nice arc
I couldn't really tell - I'll go with wishful thinking, and it probably was a nice arc. It was a very short "arc" or "orbit".
Maybe one of the most stable things I've built http://gyazo.com/8005ffe3a87658e2636105d20f33dde8.png
