Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"

Neat, I'm getting this now!
Right, well. That didn't go so well...

Come at me space.
Gotta remake the gantry so it properly balances, but it should be good after that.
That's not going to end well.
Post video, now.

This is my Gantry so far, which doesn't fully work, gotta strip it down and redo it.
Then comes the fun of stage order.
Really it comes down to how much patience I can have while building at 1fps.
UV texturing y u so hard.

Also, to that end does anyone know any good recorders that don't rob your computer of all it's disk space and processing power?

what's most interesting, is that ive been out of fuel for the past two hours, but i keep accelerating at about half a meter a minute.

here's a side view of the ship, it's at stage 2 out of 3. all that's left is to detach the capsule.

Similar setup - two large fuel balloons, one 5m liquid thruster. 1 hour in and still going into space - not decelerating.
The desire to texture stuff for this game is overwhelming.
But first I need to actually play it.
Hey guys, the game is on 800x600 and the graphics are on fastest but it just says "Loading...", what do I do?

I don't like using those large fuel balloons, feel too cheaty for me.

You can wait awhile I guess.
I'm determined to achieve escape velocity without using any mods (additional parts, whatever).
I'm at 2000km altitude, travelling at roughly 1.45 km/s

Also - calm the fuck down, Bob Kerman! Take a fucking chill pill or something, mate. You're gonna have a fucking heart attack.
[editline]14th July 2011[/editline]
God fucking dammit, now Bill is screaming too.
You two, take a fucking lesson from Jebediah. He's not freaking out like a lunatic, unlike the two of you!
[editline]14th July 2011[/editline]
Wait. I think Jebediah is high...

I think my rocket may be too big to work, it contacts the actual gantry, causing all sorts of bad things.
Good night sweet prince :(.
But I'll make a better rocket, with 10x as much thrust and enough gforces to rip the smile of Jebediah's face!
Just unfurled my 'chute. No deceleration - in fact I'd say it's rounded itself up.

Once you figure out how to reach terminal velocity the magic just disappears :(

At what point does deceleration stop? As in what altitude/distance from planet?

Got Milk?

Hard to tell - all you know that is you've breached the limit. Far less than 1M, though.
The reactions always remind me of:

I reckon all three of them are high. I think Jebediah is having a great trip, whereas the other two (or perhaps it's in reverse - could go both ways) are seeing this:

Just saving this in here for future reference - this is all you need to break free. It does a very good job of uprighting itself as well.

A pair of balls is all you'll ever need to get through life.
And to space too, apparently.

The parachute only slows you down within like 1000m of the surface, where the air is thick
Can someone tell me how to install the new update?

now he realized something's wrong
I had a really successful flight, went once around the planet, de-orbited above the launch pad only to realise I had no parachute.
I love roleplaying as the astronauts, one for each function, guidance, throttle and phase control.
I like to think that Bill handles balance, and Bob throttle, and Jeb is there to motivate them
I feel the need to listen to pale blue dot again when I'm about to leave earth's gravitational field.
