Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"

Would be nice if you could add blank stages/re-arrange the entire stage by drag-drop instead of per part.
(Or is this already in and I'm being stupid?)

You really need to calm down there. You ever thought about asking on the actual forum instead of a fan thread in another forum?
Ah, an experimental 0.8.3? lets see what is actually updated.

Their forum is practically dead. I posted, but expect no replies for at least a day or two days, which by then, I will have lost interest.
Because fuck anything that doesn't work when you follow the instructions precisely, and is IDENTICAL to the .obj files he made originally.
I mean, I completely took the parachute apart and it works fine. Try and use two cubes for the model? OH LOL SORRY I CODED THIS IN THIRTY MINUTES SO YOU CAN'T DO THAT BYE.

Being a new project that isn't that old, you can't expect everything to work perfectly, just as much as you can't expect their forum to move amazingly fast. If you lose interest that quickly, perhaps you shouldn't bother with it in the first place?
I'd suggest that you aren't following the instructions precisely, or more likely, there is another step elsewhere to do what you want to do and isn't listed; you might take a closer look at it tomorrow. Keeping away from something allows you to look and think about it in a new way the next time you see it.
I managed to get some sort of orbit :D
First Orbit
61173m at 2358.8m/s
118546m at 2170.4m/s
Second Orbit
61056m at 2359m/s
118509m at 2170.5m/s
But looking at the values I am guessing after a considerable time I would hit the atmosphere and plummet to kearth. So I managed to use the last bit of fuel I had to break orbit and land.
well shit my command pod is stuck at 11257.6m/s, won't decelerate. B. Kerman, J. Kerman, B. Kerman, you will be remembered.

There's nothing to think about.

My model is exactly the same as every other .obj file. It just doesn't work.
I noticed a bug in 0.8.3

you can place parts on "ghosted" parts. The cool thing is that it allows multiple rockets!

My first task is to get to space, my second, to get an orbit going on, my third, colonization ship with at least 10 command centers.
Holy shit that's awesome.

Changelog for that?
Changelog for that?
===================================== v0.8.3 RC1 =================================================
Bug Fixes:
* Fixed A TON of bugs with the symmetry and ship construction in general. Game is stable again.
* Fixed a bug where parts would lose staging info and revert to default when returning from flight to the VAB. (the staging reset bug)

Where'd you get that?

Oh the readme, sorry i hadn't downloaded it yet.
I am angry, rate me boxes.
gonna make TONS of little rockets buzzing everywhere!
AAARRRGGHH WHY DOESN'T THIS WORK FUCKING CUNT
SO. INFURIATING.
I hate modding things. I vow to never do it again. Worthless shitty use of my time, struggling with incomplete documentation and no support for anything except 3DSmax. GJ DEVELOPER
You should chill the fuck out.

Fireworks time!
Broke through the atmosphere with six fuel tanks and three engines. Sweet.
[editline]13th July 2011[/editline]
Does this game have symmetry at all when building rockets?
Has anyone got any tips on how to reach orbit? I can't seem to get there whatever I do.
Kerbal Space Program V2: Fuck off NASA I'm pretty sure I can design a rocket by myself

The game hasn't even been released, you can hardly expect them to give loads of modding support.

Read the thread holy fuck
Okay I chilled out and tried using .dae instead of .obj
Must be a bug with the way blender uses .obj, .dae "appears" to work.
Slightly off-topic question:
are videos of 500mb supposed to take 1,5 hours to upload on youtube? I got a video showcasing the bug a bit.
After losing my save I created the most ridiculous rocket that could possibly work and ended up reaching 200,000 m above sea level. :v: Still waiting for this thing to come down.

Makes me wish for a Kerbal military missile program.
bollocks, what NOW.
Now, even though it loads in the partslab, the game still crashes. Remember that purple arc you saw? Well, at least now it's textured and appears to be my part. FFS!
Oh god, this extra parts pack is awesome.

Installed a bunch of mods. Going to try and get into orbit now.
