Kerbal Space Program, or: "How many rockets can I slap onto this thing?"

Nearly 24000km out, still travelling at almost 2.5km/s (2475m/s to be precise).

Bob and Bill have been screaming for over 2 and a half hours. Fuck.
I think Jeb's retardation is something you can catch...

Here's the download for my TriCoupler retexture.

I think I just managed to get my fuel tank into orbit.
Cannot believe I only heard about this roughly 3 hrs ago! Already I've got my first orbiting space capsule!
So does CheatEngine work? Want to speed the game up but it keeps crashing/giving errors about everything.
CheatEngine works fine for me.
It fucks with the numbers you get at the end of the flight though. I remember having the speedhack set to 500 while flying through space and when I ended it, it said the max G's I pulled was around 50000.
Everytime I make a better rocket I completely ruin it by adding more thrusters. :c
I have like no clue how to improve, the highest I have went is 400km~ any suggestions how to actually get there again or fly higher?

it works, yeah
I'm having a weird issue with the latest patch.

As you can see from the image, as soon as I reach a certain distance with the 4x-800, it says it hit the terrain.
if I replace the x4-800 with 4 vanilla liquid boosters, it works fine.

Nevermind, worked this time
My new rocket does a great job! it reaches 1383 KM with a speed of 7051.2m/s when the fuel is depleted without any modded parts

I could've improved by adding another stage, but that won't be possible I believe beacause the way evrything starts wobbling.
HarvesteR, in the hope that you're reading this I want to urge you to do a couple of things with your explosion particles. I know that eye candy would be pretty far down the list of things to do, but this is a relatively simple addition and has a huge visual impact. I've even gone as far as to make some MS paint doodles for you <3
My first request is that you make particle emitters inherit the velocity of their creator.
Consider the following scenario: You have poorly made rocket that on launch, breaks in half with one end slamming into the ground and the other overheating and exploding in the air.
It'd probably look like this.

Now consider what happens when you have the particle emitters from the explosion inherit the velocity of the exploding part they were created by:

It looks a whole lot more spectacular. Oh yeah, they should bounce aswell. That way when you slam into the ground instead of the debris going through the earth and dissapearing, its thrown upwards with about the same force as the rocket hit the ground, just like an actual impact.
My second request is that you make the emitter's velocitys be affected by nearby explosions.
This makes it so when you have an enormous rocket on the pad suddenly combust as it tries to take off, instead of a condensed cloud of black semi-transparent lag you have a spectacular explosion that is automatically scaled to then number of peices that broke.
On the left is what currently happens, on the right is what should happen:

And if I'm right, the explosion on the right is actually less intense on FPS because it still uses the same number of particles and they arent rendered over the top of each other.
Very good idea
My god we really need that. It would make explosions much more awesome (and I think the particles should be dangerous for your ship so you can't just continue to fly unharmed)

post it on the KSP forum
So after cracking up for a good hour at this, my brother comes in and sees it. Naturally, he wants to try.
Now bear in mind my brother's been to college.
This is what he came up to in 15 minutes.

Naturally, spaceship troll gets 20 feet off the ground. we share a hearty laugh, and i go to get some food.
I come back and see this.

What kind of idiot-
Got to 300 km and 2900m/s, my best try so far.
Actually it's still ascending, 500 km already.
WOOHOO! I've finally reached escape velocity. Checked how my flight was going like half an hour ago. Was travelling at 2474.8m/s. Checked it again now: same speed.
Just hit 35000km. Almost 6 earth radii.

Guys, I think my ship went into hyperspace. I was trying to see how far my ship would go out so after burning through all my fuel I just brought another window up and browsed facepunch. I came back 20 minutes later, the ship is traveling 650 m/s but earth is nowhere to be found. At all. I looked all around the ship. wtf

Looks like the Kerman brothers won't be home for dinner today.
I guess Jeb doesn't mind it. He probably doesn't like how mom cooks the soup.
Did I win?

2356.1 G?
hmmm.. i think that might kill a normal human.
god bless those kerbals
yes it would kill a human, humans (wikipedia says) can only take around 50G before Death or serious injury
Actually scratch that, they won't be home at all. The capsule speed stopped decreasing when it reached 15938.8m/s.
As of right now they're over 20,000 kilometers away from home with a course set to go straight to the Sun. We might as well as reveal their sacrifice memorial and send the celebration (and mourning) via sattelite TV to their capsule.
Fucking finally. It took 8 minutes for this frigging capsule to stop heading upwards and come back down. I thought me kerbmen were lost.
Also thanks to OP for the parts links, this shit is amazing. Haven't had this much fun in anything for a long time.
How high does it have to be to switch from M to k, at 400,000m it's still on m and not 400 k or somesuch.

No shit it would kill a human, that's 2,356.1 times the force of gravity. 50G is incorrect as well!

i was just going by wikipedia :/
2,356.1 times the force of gravity huh.. so yeah that makes 50 WAY off.. must be around.. i dunno <10?

Live long and hope that we might find your capsule in the distant future!
When till I get a dildo rocket?

With or without modded parts?
With or without modded parts?
One modded and four unmodded boosters. And we're talking about the weakest in the series. The strongest ones tear the preset rocket apart during launch.
