Is there a way to use custom pod's without having to attach the original one onto it?
Also, Whats the best program to convert models into .DAE?

Hey guys did I overshoot my orbit yet? :v:
why does my game take four hours to load with the extra parts installed?
once i downloaded a mod for this, it wont run anymore, it just gets stuck on loading, constant loading
Fuck yeah I'm in an orbit going between 97 and 108km
Sped it up with Cheat Engine and I'm still going after two hours, and I have more fuel left in my last stage.

There's probably folders inside the mod that need to go in the parts instead.
Keyboard keys need to be way less sensitive, so that you can actually make small, correction movements without spinning out of control.
A joystick would fix that but I don't think it's been implemented beyond the launcher.

Ready for launch.

Oh yeaaah.

Stage 1 separation, and it's beautiful.

Trying to get into orbit. I kept correcting it after this.

My first orbital sunrise. I corrected a little after this, but after MET T+ 1 hour 30 minutes there was no corrections.
9 hours later after a deorbit burn.

Looks like I'm landing in the sea.

Splashdown!

Yep.
This shit is so much fun. Also Jeb is smiling in almost all the pictures.
That guy is so fucking nuts.

Farewell, sweet Kermen...
Also how do you get a slow landing speed with a parachute? The lowest I can reach is ~15m/s, which always results in the command module exploding when it hits the ground.

I find it really entertaining to land without parachute - and of course without blowing everything to pieces.

So I figured out why it's a good idea to use an orbit as a slingshot to get further into space.
This is a three stage rocket btw.
How do you change the unit of measure from M to K?

I didn't bothr with orbit, this one just went straight up:
[thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28898399/kermen2.png[/thumb]
This was three stages too, stage 1 was three solid fuel boosters and 3 liquel fuel tanks feeding 3 main engines, stage 2 was 6 liquid fuel tanks feeding 3 main engines and stage 3 was one final liquid fuel tank feeding one engine.
My max speed was about 4Km/s, so obviously it's taken a lot longer to reach this point than yours will. However, I've more or less stopped decelerating now so I've managed to escape the planet's gravitational pull.
How do you change the unit of measure from M to K?
Divide it by 1000
Or reach 1,000,000m altitude
(m is metres btw)
fuck automerge

On mine:
Stage 1 is 9 of those long SRB's.
Stage 2 is 8 of those long SRB's.
Stage 3 is a Liquid booster with those huge orange ball tanks.
Got some SAS modules on top of the SRB's as well, and one under the command module.

Simple and good.
Just hit 220 000 high with two of those big fuel tanks, one of those huge engines and 6 normal boosters on the side. Any tips on getting higher?
Add 2 more fuel tanks and you might wanna add a solid booster on the nose. 6 Boosters is enough to lift you off. Actually you could Place another set of boosters below the 6 and one under the main thruster. It will be tall, but believe me you can get to 3 million kms and 3.5km/s. If the extra solid booster makes your ship unstable you can try without.
So the stages will be:
7 solid
6 solid
1 very long flight with one liquid fuel thruster. Adding two solids on the side gave lots of speed but somewhy my ship always flipped over after they had burned.
1 solid booster.
What the hell are you smiling about Jebediah? You aren't going home.
[thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5062494/junk/kerbal_infinite.jpg[/thumb]
That's how Jeb rolls.
It seems Jeb is suffering from....SPACE MADNESS!
I'm pretty sure Jeb just figures that if he is gonna die, he might as well die with a oddly excited expression on his face.

This is Jeb.
Well, I had fun with this game.
My rocket design, quite simple really.

I know Sergeant Turtle has the exact same design, I just noticed now. I havn't copied that same image, look at the source of the image before you judge.
Now, for my altitude!

3443k, and it was still going at a speed of 1544.1 m/s but I really couldn't be arsed waiting for it to stop and start falling back down. The parachute was there to slow it down even more but it was still rising with the speed only going down about 0.3 m/s every second...
No fucking way I made this exact same rocket.
Give this game some time, replace humans with Kerbals:

Oh, and here's a mission abort and rentry:

one small step for kerbals, one giant leap for spaceship missiles.
No fucking way I made this exact same rocket.
That is the simplest rocket to make... and it works the best.

Click it.
Now my game won't load... Hmm. Maybe too many extra parts ?
edit: nevermind, folders in folder.
