Here's a new engine I'm working on. It's much more sci-fi though, not like the other engines. So, uhh, how do I make a base that is bigger than the rocket itself? It's all cylindrical and I want to put like 9 liquid fuel rockets on the bottom so the dang thing will take off, but I can't find a way to make it more than 3 rockets all the way down. I'm using symmetry of course, but if I try to add a tricoupler to others, it doesn't work. Maybe the top needs to be bigger to begin with?

For some reason liquids can only be stacked vertically, so you can only get 3 around using the tri-coupler. Sorry!

It's a ghost :tinfoil:

Sorry!
You can always just put a solid-fuel on the side and put a liquid fuel rocket directly under it for a de-facto side-mounted liquid-fueled rocket. It's fuck-all inefficient, but it gets the job done.
The ghosts of the many copies of Bill, Bob, and Jeb, who died in the other rockets. They're all clones made by a big private corporation, just like the twist in [sp]Moon[/sp] :tinfoil:
Is it at all possible to get to orbit without scaring Bob?
Is it at all possible to get to orbit without scaring Bob?
It would take like a "civilian transport rocket" That only had a max G force of like 2 G's, and its max speed was like 100 m/s
Is this good for my 3rd ship?
Is this good for my 3rd ship?
Yep, it takes quite a lot of ships to get the hang of it and to create a stable "formula"
I've made like 20 rockets and my highest altitude was 60,000 :C
So whats the new title going to be?
Kerbal Space Program V.2 Jebadiah's way or the highway.
Last toast bitcheeeez :v:
Last toast bitcheeeez :v:
Negatory.
I think we got a while to go man.
I want the last post D:
Atmosphere is precisely at 34 500 meters
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT THAT MEANS MY BEST LAUNCH WAS 500 METRES FROM LEAVING THE ATMOSPHERE
GOD FUCKING DAMN IT THAT MEANS MY BEST LAUNCH WAS 500 METRES FROM LEAVING THE ATMOSPHERE
Its not hard to get to 35km.. And also, when you come that far and aren't going fast enough you'll just get pulled back after a while.

:itama: [editline]20th July 2011[/editline]
Its not hard to get to 35km.. Why the ugly olive theme?
Why the ugly olive theme?
Why XP is the better question. On topic, there really should be some sort of indicator in-game for when you leave the atmosphere, would be very useful for those who don't know. That and a built in speed up time button.
I'm pretty sure that's planned already.
Revised my design several times with the Cherdenko 3. Turns out that default engines comprised mostly of the solid fuel engines has amazing results. It went much further than I expected, but it still wasn't quite enough.. PfffffffffffffffffffffFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF 50 GOD DAMN METRES AWAY [editline]dicks o'clock[/editline] Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. At 500 metres up on the way down I tried to trigger the chute to stop the command pod from exploding in the sea. It just went 'click'. I kept on hitting spacebar furiously and was only replied to with a 'click' each time until I was at 100 metres, at which point the chute popped out, but not in time and the pod exploded upon contact with the apparently solid and highly volatile Kearthan sea.
My mission was to get to the dark side of earth I reached orbit, speed was increasing rapidly along with the altitude then I realized I wasn't in orbit anymore WILL I EVER GET BACK TO MY PLANET? Kerbal Space Problem: Stage 2 should be the title.
