Just looking at it, it gives you that extra added damage that TDs need for alpha, and you need it for the Ferdi anyway, no reason not to.

KV3 is a slow beast, it has a big gun, the turret is known to ding BL10's, and it can take a few hits without keeling over. But it's in the KV series, it catches on fire with side hits, it's slow, it's slow, very slow, and catches on fire with side hits.
Good tank for it's tier.
Just killed both an IS and a T29 in my KV, both 1v1. Good times.

You'll hate it when you get placed out of tier but other than that it's a pretty solid tank.
I managed to derp two low-health Type 59s with the 152mm on my KV. The most Type 59s I've killed in a match with any tank.

Earlier today on Abbey, we were in a tier 7 match. We had a guy on cap and 3 more coming. Enemy starts to roll onto our cap, and the M6 at base runs. No matter how much we ping map and beg him to at least use HE on the buggers on cap he refuses. Only when a PzIV comes up the other side to help does he move... and he doesn't even shoot at the guys on cap, he shoots the light tank just coming up the ramp. The PzIV never fires a shot, content to sit and watch the enemy cap base.
Just as it looks like we're going to draw (and we've spent over a minute telling the m6 to load HE and hit the cappers) an IS rolls up, dings one of our cappers, and we lose the game. ALL MY FUCKING RAGE

Yeah... I've hit 59s with the 152mm and it usually does 200 or less damage. It's worthless against them after the HE nerf... not that it ever did that great to begin with. 59s seem to be derp-proof.

And amazing, we had some retarded AFK is-4 and some light was capping our base slowly shooting him to death and right before he got to 100% (cap wise, he already managed to kill the dumbass is-4 off) i managed to drag my slow is-4 ass back home and one shot him.
Close games are pretty intense.

The upgrade isn't the 105, it's the turret. The Pershing turret gets penetrated, the second turret only gets penetrated by E-100s using HEAT :v:

Why would you do that? While it may have been worth it when it was 7500 gold, but I couldn't see myself spending the current what, 13500 gold? Why not just get a KV-5?

Had a lot of spending money laying around. About a solid $250 just doing nothing. So I said why not?
I got a really good other friend who has a Lowe too (who also has a E100, not a wallet-grinding fellow), so we can Lowe it up together.
Easy match, I'm the highest tier in the whole team.
Match starts, team goes flying in every fucking direction, I'm left alone with a couple of tier 5 (I'm a tiger)
Half our team is already dead a minute through the game.
Then i die, because everyone fled to help the guys on the other side, who also died.

It makes a lot of money and is a solid tank with a great gun; but it's not very fun, and if you're going to be using it to grind credits then having a fun tank to do it in is important.
Between a Lowe and a KV-5 I think I would do better with a Lowe
KV-5 is way too slow and have a huge weak spot on the front
