I don't actively charge at heavies in my Type 59's, I either get hit/picked off at range or I get into a situation where a heavy rushes me from around a corner at ramming range.
Well then you absolutely should lose that fight.
He's got the drop on you. You're a lighter tank not built (intentionally) for brawling.
He should absolutely fuck you.

This explains why I get tracked every game

well yah and thats my point. People don't realize how weak Type 59's actually are, their side, ass, front is all made of paper, excluding the front of the turret, it can be easily penned by most guns in it's tier and below. You just have to know where to shoot. I eat type 59's alive in my Tiger, IS3, and panther.

Of course. However, a good Type 59 driver is never in that situation. He's in a rock, 300 metres away, hull down in a position where the only place he can be reasonably hit, is in the same place his armour is at it's strongest. And he got there because he's fast as fuck, and when you are shooting at his side armour, you're just as likely to hit tracks or the turret because of the low profile of the tank, as you are to hit the area you can actually damage the tank.
And it's hull armour is paper because if it wasn't, that tank would be actually invincible.

any tank get into a position like that, whether it be an E100, T54, or Leichtraktor, it's all circumstantial. Any tank can bum rush from spawn into a camping spot, or be thrown into a match with 4 other of it's kind and they can roll together. but if you place a type 59 against any tank it's tier, 1v1 at full health, the other tank will almost always win.

What? No they can't.
Any German tank that goes hull down other than Tier 9 and 10 (and the Lowe arguably), you turn the turret and you'll eat 50 million shells into the weak side armour. My Tiger 2 gets pecked to death by Tier 6's and 7s when I'm fighting a Tier 8 or so, just because they can pen the side armour of the turret.
The difference is, type 59 doesn't need to worry which way the turret is facing.

Oh awesome, so it's a pay to win MMO like so many others eh?
Oh awesome, so it's a pay to win MMO like so many others eh?
not a pay to win but it sure is a "pay to win without breaking ____ computer keyboards in the process"
Oh awesome, so it's a pay to win MMO like so many others eh?
"Pay to progress" is more like it. Play with friends using voice comms when you can. It usually helps with the BS.
I'll probably play a few rounds and see how it goes.

Most of my friends are playing The Old Republic, so it'll be a distraction.

No, it's more of a pay to progress without feeling like you're running on a treadmill kind of game. Don't worry too much though. Getting up to tier 5 is easy without paying. By then you'll have had a nice feel for the game, and you'll be able to decide whether or not you want to purchase premium. Another note, the tanks that you can pay real money for are not overpowered as they may seem. They just print a lot of credits which helps.
Then you pretty much need premium to progress past tier 7
Make absolutely sure you hang on to one of your tier 5 or 6 tanks. If you don't/can't get a premium tank, you'll want one of those for making money. Otherwise, the game isn't all that difficult actually. After you've played for a bit, we can tell you more about the details like how to use AP vs. HE rounds, what specific guns to use on which tanks, etc.
Most of it will make sense after it is explained, it's just not necessarily all intuitive.
Also, expect dicerolls. Do not be surprised when shit that should not happen in any feasible circumstance happens.
The only thing that ever surprises me is how many idiots there are in the higher tier matches compared to the lower tier matches
Are you locked into one tree, or can you just expand them as you please? I'm a huge fan of the Axis tanks in Company of Heroes so I was thinking of picking the German tree.

You can do whatever you want in regards to what you grind, but it's probably best to start out grinding down one tree towards one tank.
Some people grind multiple lines at the same time, with the crazies(or idiots) grinding up to... well... all of them. I prefer to grind one of two at a time to finish quickly.
I just found it funny how it was literally pay to win with the Type 59. Considering it never got into matches above its tier while there's tier 5s like the KV's who are getting into tier 9 or 10 battles.
Yeah, but tier 9 matches in the KV are amazing to do though.
but the derpgun is bad remember!!!!

I really think that they nerfed HE just because of that. Not because they wanted realism.
It's wargaming.

Aww yeah, researched my first tank after 2 battles. So far this is surprisingly fun.

Don't worry, that feeling will end soon.
