Ooh, thanks. On an unrelated note, how do I get into the CStore?
Hit the down Arrow next to the mini-map
And to get a Borg I have to buy them from the CStore, right?
This game confuses me, I go out into space to start doing missions and I'm constantly jumping in and out of random groups :raise: Then like.. Twice, I've been told my mission is finished and it didn't mark it as done. Bah.
Missions are Instances so if you enter system the same time as other people doing the same mission you'll join them. I have no idea, I just heard people complaining about the Borg not being accessable yet and saw a notice about the Borgs and the CStore and I assumed that you had to buy them from the CStore or something.

I just started a Klingon character. PvP wooh! \o/ [editline]06:05PM[/editline] And then the servers borked out.

Sorry to bump a really old thread. Has anyone played this recently? I've heard that they've added a load more content over the last few months so I was wondering if It was worth playing again.
I still play it occasionally. It's not that I don't play it because it's not any good, but because my computer's hardware is fucking up. It's definitely improved. In my opinion the state of the game right now is what it should have been at release. Whether you take that to be a good or bad thing is up to you, though. I haven't been able to see all of what they've added in the 'season two' update for myself though due to not being able to play. [editline]06:35PM[/editline] Oh, and one of the biggest complaints a lot of people had months ago was that the level cap was too low. They've raised that now.
I bought it on released, played it for 2 Days.
I've been playing, My Fed character is maxed out, now to grind my Klingon character, who is still at LC.
Thanks, that really helps
who says he was replying to you, did he quote your post, no he didn't maybe he was just expressing what he thought of the game when it had been released
Been thinking of playing again as I feel like I've wasted money on it since I never resubbed past the initial month. How is it? Have they added much new? I think that was the main problem, all the quests were all the same essentially, it needed some new content. But besides that it was a really good game, I loved the space combat mechanic and it's a shame that it just couldn't fulfill that need for more unique content.
Exactly what I've been thinking. Im so tempted to add some more gametime and give this game another go, but I feel that I would only play it for a day or so then leave it again.
It has gotten better. Right know the Klingon Faction is slowly getting more content. PvP has been fixed with better queues. The next big patch (Season 3) is rumored to be just one large bug fix. Weekly episodes have started (Every Staurday at 11:00am PDT) The Federation faction have gotten the much wanted Excelsior Class (Commander T3 and Refit T5 (bought through C-store 1200pts)) The Nebula class is sometime late Fall/early winter. The game still needs work but it is better than what it was release.
I took the plunge and re-subbed. All the glitches are gone and its actually FUN to play. I hadn't signed in since March so the screen exploded with the 200-odd accolades they'd added since then which was quite funny.
its a good game, but feels to much like a low quality, poorly rendered Eve online imitator to me
Horrible game, repetitive as fuck. I regret buying it... :/
its a good game, but feels to much like a low quality, poorly rendered Eve online imitator to me
The way I see it is, it's good for a Star Trek game (despite not feeling all that Star Trekky) but bad for an MMO.
Horrible game, repetitive as fuck. I regret buying it... :/
When was the last time you played it?
Played the trial a few weeks ago and hated every second of it. Felt like every single over MMO out there except with a space setting.
the weekly episodes are pretty sweet. i liked the breen series. the player created content tools coming out in a few months should be awesome too.
It's a shame.. I was looking forward to this for years in advance. Then it turns out to be crap. :saddowns:
I still play It has gotten better. Mission Replay (accessed from the console in bridge ready room) and User-Generated Content (Still in beta though) are in, Crafting was redone, Aegis Ship Upgrades Crafting set, Borg ship upgrades from the STFs, and new dailies for the KDF is all I can remember from the top of my head.
Is ground combat still like having teeth pulled?
Is ground combat still like having teeth pulled?
Sometimes, but It is going to be overhauled in the near future (Possibly in the Season 5 patch)
Got any links to the info on said overhaul? I played the open beta and loved the space combat but hated every second of the very much forced ground combat... I'd be very interested in trying it again if the ground combat was fixed. Or has there been more improvements since beta?

Yes, they plan on replacing the current ugly ass space-dock with the Space-dock seen in the Movies/Series. Possibly in a PVP or PVE event. I'm on the STO forums every day. I play a couple times a week, I have a Lifetime sub. [editline]29th December 2010[/editline] This game is way better then it was at launch.
Does a short period of subscription come with the Steam version of the game? The Digital Deluxe Edition is only 8,75€ and I was thinking of buying it.
