You should make a brown fish, you can either cook and eat it (same health as normal fish), or you can craft it raw with white wool to make brown wool.

Angler fish with lights would be very very expensive, it'd have to update the lighting for the chunk every frame for every chunk any angler fish is in.

Personally, I would be happy with just the original fish being visible at all times. So that you can see them swimming around like squid's and such.

Seriously, I don't think there should be more than at most 7 fish.
It will get annoying when you have no idea what to do with anything because there's 100 fish.
but having more then 7 fish would be fun because you could make them heal you based off of a weight they are (which would be awsome) and i always love to try to catch them all.
I think we have too many species of fish, the goal of mods like this is to make it look as close to an official release as possible right?
If this is true we need to simplify it greatly, like Redfish, Bluefish, ect.
The net is a good idea though, another use for string.

Maybe a turtle that could crawl to sand and deposit eggs. It would drop meat and a shell block which you could use for decoration.

Shit, as long as it is rare, that's actually a pretty good idea.
One last request, could you add a special bucket which, when right clicked, opens up like a backpack and allows you to store your fish in it.
The angler idea is cool but I challenge if it's really worth it, weighing the cost of performance and it being more of a gimmick than anything useful.
The creeper fish sounds like a fun idea though, considering that fish are pretty valuable and it'd be similar to opening a booby trapped chest in an RPG; you know there's a chance of great riches or a horrible fate and it's up to you to decide to take that chance.
