I don't think giant snails would fit well with the jungle biome. Mostly because of the landscape not being very flat and because there are trees everywhere. Perhaps cave-spider sized giant insects like Ants and Butterflies though. Perhaps piranhas in lakes generated inside the jungle biome :v:
Giant insects and piranhas would be cool. Maybe snails would be better in swamps, as long as swamps get a sexy make-over like the jungles.
Im so glad Jebs taken over. I really don't have much respect for Notch anymore. His Twitter feed is constantly filled with bullshit.
I love the jungle, only bad thing is the leaves dissapearing, so the trees need some branches to stop that :v:
I like how the new zombies takes shortcuts.
I don't really think the zombie pathfinding is a fitting advantage for them. Maybe all mobs should get basic pathfinding, like you can set up a one block wall to keep them off you, but being able to go through a maze is too much in my opinion. Maybe instead zombies should be able to break through stone, dirt, and logs very slowly in order to get to you, and always come in packs. The pathfinding does fit creepers though.
Well, zombies are a more... Intelligent form of mob. They were humans, after all.
Zombies are usually dumb backbone type of creatures.

Maybe be able to knock open a wooden door after it's hit several times(to give you enough warning of the zombies wanting to come in). Creepers shouldn't be too smart either, they already have a devastating power, if they had brains and the power to explode I fear they'd be able to destroy things too easily. Skeletons and slimes should have a moderate intelligence. Spiders, Endermen, and Blazes should be the smartest. Edit: Actually here is my idea of how the AI should work: • Creepers should always try to run straight at you, because they want to blow you up, they can only doge small walls to get to you, can't navigate a maze. • Skeletons should try to stay several blocks away from you, so you'd need to sprint at them or shoot them with your own arrows if you want to kill them, they're a bit smarter about walls, but will still try to only get into a shooting range, not get right up to you. • Spiders should always try to get behind you before they attack, and they should be smart enough to navigate a maze. If you're already hitting them they'll just come right at you instead of being sneaky. • Zombies should scale their intelligence as more zombies are around. So if there's 1 zombie it will be very dumb, but if there's say, 6 zombies near each other they can navigate a maze, sort of a collective intelligence. I'm not going to talk about the other mobs because I don't encounter them often.
Personally I like how smart the zombies are. After all, the skeleton is a ranged archer, the creeper the sneaky kamikaze, spiders can just scale the walls. Until now the zombie was just a dumbed down fighter.
This new shader mod thing is very impressive. Barely any hit on the framerate, too.
I would of liked that zombies be the pack mob rather than the smart one, though. But all mobs should have a simple amount of path finding at least. I want to make a floating monster farm on survival, but I don't want to make a new world or do it on creative. Does anyone have a server in which I could go to them and make one for them?

I am liking this shield mod, it saved me from skeletons alot of times and the shield bash is useful when it comes to shoving creepers away, also preserves my armor well.

[editline]20th January 2012[/editline] or maybe if you are wearing shiny armour (diamond)
What Texture Pack is that again?
Dokucraft
I feel as though Zombies should have the purposefully stupid pathfinding, being the only mobs that will blindly shuffle off of cliffs trying to get at you. They should stay classic, being relatively dull-witted and very willing to walk off of a dangerous ledge if they think they can kill you. Dangerous only in numbers. Creepers should have the most advanced pathfinding for horror purposes. Creepers aren't as scary as they used to be, and some intelligent pathfinding ought to help remedy that. Skeletons are a bit of an odd one. Personally I think they should be very intelligent, but I can't explain why I think that. They should be smart enough to chase you like Zombies will chase you now and also have a sense of self preservation, so they won't hurl themselves off cliffs. Spiders will need more advanced pathfinding in order for them to put their wall-climbing ability to good use.
I love the design of this map I assume the creator used worldpainter, but he took care of almost every detail of the landscape there.
Shield mod link?
Zombies are usually dumb backbone type of creatures.
I think you're right by saying ALL mobs need basic path finding. They shouldn't be as easy to escape as they are now. If zombies were to gain some advantage it should be the ability to use certain tools and weapons. Ever heard of muscle memory? I think they would spawn in large packs of 10 or so zombies and the occasional ones will have armor and tools. Certain tools, like a pick, axe, or shovel, could break through certain blocks to reach you. Weapons and armor act like they do on the player, providing a damage boost and more protection from attacks. Also, mobs should have biome-based skins. Maybe pigs in jungles and swamps could be dark boars and in deserts they could be lighter toned. In forests a chicken would instead be a duck and so on.
Can someone come test my server at 91.150.226.59? I need to know if my port forwarding worked.. By the way it's 1.1
Can someone come test my server at 91.150.226.59? I need to know if my port forwarding worked..
I was able to connect, but it said outdated server.
I was able to connect, but it said outdated server.
I saw that, but the server should be on 1.1
I saw that, but the server should be on 1.1
Yeah, forgot I was running the week snapshot.
Just finished that adv map Raptor posted. It was fun, but could of been more content and stuff.
Checking the new computer I got from my dad. It's 12GB ram, 2,4Ghz processor and everything. It seems cool. It managed to get into reccommended section on "Can you run it" (Battlefield 3) on everything except the graphics card.
