anybody know any seeds with big tundra/ snow biomes?
i've found a few fairly sized ones but nothing big
I'm kind of annoyed with these cats.
They do nothing but follow you.
There is no way to make them stay
They actually get in the way.
They're probably going to die the first time you start fighting monsters, either from a stay arrow or creeper.
They actually kill chickens randomly even when tame so I hope you don't plan on having a chicken farm.

Sounds like a cat to me
God damnit. I've been here for the past two hours trying to install ModloaderMP, MinecraftForge and BuildCraft into my server, but it always spits out a shitload of errors. If I just install ModloaderMP, it runs fine. Now if I add BuildCraft, it complains about not having Forge installed. So I install forge, and it spits this shit at me:

what do?
Sounds like a cat to me
Seems kinda dumb to find and tame something, only to find that it actually hinders you though. I guess they'll add stuff to make cats more useful in the future maybe?
[editline]27th January 2012[/editline]
That said I really like the way untamed Ocelots react to the player.
Makes me think that it'd be pretty cool if other passive mobs had similar reactions, rather than just ignoring you until you start beating the shit out of them. :v:

I also don't seem to understand why everyone has to have a reason to do everything. You don't need to tame them, and they will be fixed in the future anyway. It's their first snapshot.
I really wish that people would some complaining about game features, and just deal with it. That's what got the damn Enderman nerfed so he can't pick up player made blocks.
A legitimate inquiry is not a complaint. Nor is complaining wrong in any way, especially about snapshots. They kinda want our feed back on those things you know.

It's not that they need to do anything, if they were useful for little more than "oh cool i have a cat" then that'd be okay. It's the fact that they actually get in the way of the player and are just a nuisance when tamed that's the problem.
But like you say, it's the first snapshot with Ocelots, and any problems will likely be fixed in due time. Just giving my two pennies worth on what I think of them as they are now.
That sounds exactly like my cats, but I still love them. Except they don't kill chickens. I'd expect Jon to give them some sort of useful feature in the future though.

That's what we said about wolves, nothing's changed.
The new ocelots are kind of fat and weird looking.
We don't really need another wolf, I think kind of a decoration animal to keep in your house would be cool, something less obedient than a wolf. Instead of it sitting or following you, it would wander with a certain pattern, or follow you if you have food it likes out.
I dont like how the ocelots change size as well as color when tamed.
That's what we said about wolves, nothing's changed.
Wolves were before the time of Jon.
That's what we said about wolves, nothing's changed.
Jon's giving wolves AI in the next proper update. If they're as good as the zombies, then I imagine wolves will actually become decent companions soon.
I haven't bothered checking in Survival. Are Ocelots ever hostile to you in the wild? They seem like they should be.
They relase a snapshot every week(or they try to relase it every week)

Why would anyone want to re-lace a snapshot, every week :o
How do you install 12w04a on a server?
7zip only returns 'Not Implemented' and I've tried working around it, but it doesn't seem to work.
Hmm, time seems to have gotten away from me, oh well I'll just go back to my little fort and sleep real quick-

-snip- i suck at minecraft. Back to building my shit house
Im really glad jeb took over, the game is actually evolving again. New stuff is being added, and hopefully villages will have a purpose soon. I was really excited when I got home from school today to see another snapshot released adding new things, making mobs have better AI, and new tamable animals.
I like these new trees.
Jungles would be fucking incredible with
-ambient sounds
-bird mobs
-different foliage
Sadly I don't see any of this happening anytime soon, let's hope I'm wrong.
Dispensers look different in 12W04A
Indeed. Dispensers now look like this:

Also, normal saplings have better shading now.
Can someone identify this texturepack?

There are some features in the snapshots that I need for my adventure map, is it a good idea to wait for them to be officially released then go back and make the needed changes, or is it safe to continue development on the snapshots?
No discussion on the two new items, the Fire Charge and Bottle o' Enchanting? For shame.

We already did.

I love looking at your pictures. They always remind me of using painterly pack in Beta. Memories.

The only issues I've ever really seen with prerelease/snapshot and subsequent full release compatibility is when there's map generation differences, stuff like biomes inadvertently cutting off instead of transitioning normally. Still, I suppose it would be a good idea to wait just in case.
