What I mean are like those blocks you see in greek/roman arenas and stuff, with the vertical grooves.
I don't see why people have a problem with the end, i think it's a perfectly fitting place for the endermen.
It's a barren wasteland, and it makes sense.
The endermen pick up blocks in the main world because they've never seen such a thing before, they are all "Holy shit what is this soft green stuff coming out the ground!" and grab they start checking it out because the world they come from is so dark and bleak that when the come to our world they are so curious of everything they just want to take it back.
The end is basiclly just a big boss fight arena, i do think the dragon fight could be better though like if it had some kind of ranged attack.
I also hope we get overworld dragons that land.
The end is fine, but the dragon could use more attacks and stuff like madmanmad said and maybe some unique loot.
DO SOMETHING WITH THE DRAGON EGG MOJANG
If the End had more gameplay purpose than 'useless boss arena', then it would be a lot more interesting and a legitimate addition. We were also promised the Sky Dimension ages ago, but it never came through as initially shown, but was replaced by the crappy ripoff that is the End. However, it could be possible to make the Sky Dimension come about.
Once the Enderdragon is slain, the starless sky would begin to lighten, and eventually, the Sun would fade in at the sunrise position, but would appear much larger than in the Overworld, as the island presumably floats higher in the atmosphere. Upon the player's second entrance to the realm, patches of Grass and Dirt will be scattered throughout the landscape, Saplings will be around the island, and the numerous Obsidian Spires will have shrunk to a few blocks tall. When the player returns for a third time, water will be in hollows below a certain level, the End Stone would be replaced by Dirt, Stone, Ores, etc, and the Obsidian Spires would be removed to be replaced by Trees and Tall Grass.
Maybe every once and a while you'll find a floating little end island in the overworld with a bunch of endermen spawners, and by beating the end they get turned into into grassy floating islands with portals to the new sky dimension that was once the end.

I have never thought of it like that before...
Ive always hated the end due to the fact that after the you get there you have to wait for the dragon to get into range after it finishes flying in circles for a good 5 minutes till you can hit it again.

I've always hated the End because of how there is no motivation to go there. You have to kill shitloads of Endermen to get there, the only hostile mobs in the game that don't attack you look at them sideways. Then you have to find some random-ass fortress that under normal circumstances you should never even know exists. Then, you have to repair a broken portal to another dimension and kill a dragon that has not wronged you. The whole quest is based around killing things that mean you no harm.
Not to mention that the entire quest is not mentioned anywhere in the game. The only way to know about it is to look it up and know about it outside of the game, which really takes you out of the game. Plus the reward is really meager, since the exp you get is relatively useless if you've already beaten the dragon.
so to recap:
1. No means of knowing about the quest in the game.
2. Quest centers around killing things that have not wronged you.
3. Reward is relatively useless.
In the words of world-renowned astrophysicist and basketball superstar Jay Sherman: "It stinks."
Again, I've probably said this before, there should be tomes that have lore inside of them that can explain stuff like the enderdragon or the nether, like how the endermen collect blocks from the normal world over centuries and take them to the end, and eventually the end will become the overworld only darker and rules by the enderdragon.

The End should be covered in really shitty replicas of the overworld. Like the Enderfolk really like the Overworld and try to bring it home but everything they bring back dies because they aren't doing anything correctly. Just like giant piles of dirt covered in brown grass and withered trees lying around with flows of lava next to them.

I wanted to share a few pictures from my Underground server.

This is the main part of the cave. You can see all the sand that is from the ruins of Oblivion. The Imperial's only town. It was destroyed by a virus.

This is a large ruin. Legend says, Dwarfs built these ruins in the very early days of this cave. This mineshaft was cut off abruptly into a large web infested cave. It is rumored that some spawning eggs are located here. It was defeated just a few minutes ago by me, and CJ.

A older picture of the Vampire's main base. My faction. They later invaded and took over TheLost. Their owner still whines about it on the forums.
Can silk touch pick axes pick up monster spawners?

I think I could make a good faction, I've learned from the best at managing one.

Indeed; it should be incubated to give you a Dragon of your own. Make the boss fights actually mean something for the world.
Indeed; it should be incubated to give you a Dragon of your own. Make the boss fights actually mean something for the world.
You should be able to choose like 3 different things to use it for. You could incubate it, for a ridable dragon, seperate it into a bunch of unique potion ingredients for the best potions, or do some magic spell on it to restore life to the end or something.
I wish the lava in the Nether was special.
Like, Nether Lava + Water = Netherrack. Even in the 'normal' world.
Damn it. Its such a bore to dig around searching for ores, but then again, isn't X-ray kind of cheating?
What should I do?

because netherrack is super rare and super useful

creative
But its not that I want to build something enormous. I just want to find more than 5 ores without having additional 50 stacks of cobblestone.
