but what one should I start with
If I were you, i'd avoid DA2 altogether and go for Origins.
if this game would've ended around act 2 I would have been more or less satisfied. I fucking hate how they railroaded you into killing everyone at the end.
It is by no means a bad game. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the original but I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon and talk about how the game was so terrible I couldn't even play it or something.
Yes; it was still a good game. Not great or excellent, just good. It's kinda like what happened with the Deus Ex games before Human Revolution. First we had the original, which was a GREAT game, setting high standards for the sequel, and then along comes the sequel that not everybody likes due to it being dumbed-down a bit too much. Hopefully Dragon Age 3: Thedosian Revolution (it IS a revolution, after all), will pick up the power and bring back the intricacies and good complexities. Hopefully not as much linearities, though.
If Origins received the same graphical update and the one hit per button press option DA2 had, I'd play it all day, erryday. The only flaws I could find in it were that all the armor looked too similar and the combat was kinda boring. I could probably just forget about the rest of my games for quite a while if that happened - even though I know it never will.
Has anyone played the new DLC yet? Is it worth getting?
I got it. It's good, a nice mix of gameplay and a couple of cool boss fights. A bit gushy on Felicia Day's character. The scenery is nice, a mountain forest and a HUGE castle. Plus you get to fight a few Wyverns.
I've been reading Dragon Age: Asunder (7/8ths done) and, well, all I really can say is holy shit. And not in the bad way. [editline]28th January 2012[/editline] Oh god no why why why her why did she do that why [sp]Why Wynne?[/sp] [editline]28th January 2012[/editline] After finishing it, I have to say it was good.
I've started DAII again, always with the mage, this time trying to Homohatemance Anders (heard it's the best written romance)...
So, who's got more mods for Origins than I?

My only mod is that respec mod....
Speaking about mods for DA2, are there any mods that alter gameplay, like altering mechanics or implementing amazing new systems?
No. BioWare was too lazy with making new toolset. Otherwise we would already have mods which cuts gay shit.
Someone once worked on a D&D 4.ed ruleset for DA:O.
I only know that some people converting Baldur's Gate 2 to DA:O, and so far they're doing fine, soon the second module should come. BTW get it here NAO. Played it, so far awesome, of course not so challenging like old BG2 with AD&D and stuff, but still enjoyable, just like in good ol' times. And since I mentioned BG.. I think Imoen is similar in some ways to Leliana.
I know. Love that mod! But there was a separate group working on it. They kinda died out though. But the devs confirmed on two occations (one in response to a post i made) that you can cut out their ruleset and instate your own. It'll be "violent and crude" but it's possible.
