It could be useful if you're up against melee you have trouble staying away from. There are still better options, but it is worth considering.

Have the changes to his mana costs had a noticeable effect on his jungling? Haven't tried him in the jungle since the patch.

See, if you go into the game with the mindset of "Fuck what happens, I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do." then you'll win, for example, earlier I got a few kills early as Talon to get a few levels, then Jungled/roamed.
We won and I carried.

How would Ryze work against Ahri? My problem when laning against her is usually that she can kill me pretty easy at 6 if she manages to land everything and turret dives with her ult, but W should stop her from doing anything and just take turret shots for a while

all of ryze's skills are hitscan so I don't see why it wouldn't work

With lich bane your W has 1.4 AP ratio.
Same reason why AP Poppy hits hard with Q. [sp]1.6 AP ratio[/sp]
