I feel that rushing a Catalyst is much, much better, even more since the passive from Chalice isn't very good if you don't build any more MP5.

Well my current solotop is Nasus, and while farming isn't a problem, I'm not a fan of growth ults and it seems like Garen has higher damage output (and his escape.)
Riven just looks fun. IDK

Garen also has no CC and falls off late game. His early game is probably the best there is for a solo top, though, I'm pretty sure he beats Rumble, and I think he may even be able to beat Renekton.
Also, what masteries should I use for jungle nocturne?
rumble and morde beat all other traditional solotops because of infinite ranged harass

How do I build veigar? I tried to build him like a lot of other mages and he ran out of mana fast even though I bough tear of the goddess.
archangel > boots > hat > death claw (or however it's called) > abisal > situational ap item like a rylai

only use your full combo when you know it'll work, else just keep farming with Q, stunning with E and occasionally dropping W to scare off an enemy team.
When you have an oppurtunity, like an AP carry alone with half health, drop your stun, throw a W once they are stunned, toss your DFG and R while the W is falling, then chase after them with your Q.
Keep doing that and you shouldn't run out of mana because you're conserving it until you actually need it.
Though his full combo eats a hella lot mana so I dunno

then i played again and i was forced to play a champion i am bad at because some douchebag who wanted it went afk right when it was his time to pick a champion and ended up with lux as "support" who took all the cs in my lane, so i got owned by vayne
