stay in mid lane unless u get ganked til

tear and hextech revolver
finish AA after wota and rylais

AA gives way more AP than Rod of Ages, but then cassiopeia is a pretty short range mage so building glass cannon isnt a really good alternative

Per level mana regen are a lot more bang for buck. Plus if you play mages that aren't very mana intensive, you can always spring for HP per level seals for tankiness. Despite not being very prevalent in mage pages, flat armor is great on yellows.

You can also go AP per level seals along with AP per level glyphs (which are a lot better than those flat ones, you should replace those) for all dem AP

Also flat AP quints are generally better than Magic Pen quints.
