Wow.
This is why I don't get those reviews. He actually pointed out a few negative things, but still gave it a 10. Most of those reviews feel like the rating they give has nothing to do with the actual review.
I think they said that Steelport is slightly smaller than Stilwater, but larger vertically.
Also why are you guys just now putting down preorders on this? I put down mine when the only thing we had to go on was a Game Informer article.
I had a preorder done when it was first available to preorder.
But it was for PS3, and now as we're finding out more about it, I'm seeing that even if the PC version probably won't run that well on my shitty old computer, it's still better than the console version.
The reviews so far are quite good imo. I'm suprised DTOID gave it a 7. From the previews I saw, DTOID was really enjoying SR3 and were loving every bit of it.
So I hear that [sp]Donnie[/sp] doesn't return. That sucks :(
So I hear that [sp]Donnie[/sp] doesn't return. That sucks :(
Yeah, I really enjoyed [sp]beating him up[/sp], I hope there will be a new character to do that to.
smaller?
fuck
It's probably smaller in a way that still seems big, with the VTOL jets and stuff it can't be tiny.
In the 7 minute demo when they fly the jet you can kinda get a idea of the map size, it looked fairly big.
I guess we are just going to have to wait :\
smaller?

I don't see the problem here, Stilwater was annoyingly large. I hated having to drive from one side to the the other to get to a mission
I heard every student in goverment schools in my country will get 100 cash.
Maybe I can use that for Saints Row The Third.
Wow, that's a mind fuck?
Does anyone know the difference to the Prof. Genki edition and the standard?
you get a rad vehicle, a rad weapon and a racing suit with a cat for a head.
not terribly different

Yeah I usually hopped in a helicopter when the mission was on the other edge of the game world.
i had a go too

That's basically GT
Reviewers are bashing the high school mentality humour in the storyline, but I think that's the kind of humour SR3's target audience is fond of.
I wouldn't of minded an autotune voice option like Zimos

"Choice is by far the biggest drawback in the mean streets of Stillwater"
Did they even play this game?
Sucks that I don't have the money to preorder, I'll have to get it a few years down the road, but man it will be worth it.
Oh wow they complained that this game doesn't have a cover system.
And then they praise Modern Warfare 2 because a grenade ~rolls~

Saints 1 gets a 8.0
Saints 2 gets a 8.0
Saints 3 gets a 7.7
Bugger off GT, as much as I liked GTA4 not every game needs to be super serious with a fucking cover system.
There should be an autotune voice set after seeing that autotuned pimp.
this is why "official" game reviews are garbage
There should be an autotune voice set after seeing that autotuned pimp.
There is, for the collector's edition.
this is why "official" game reviews are garbage
Player reviews and official reviews are garbage, there really is no safe way to determine if a game is worth buying or not, unless you decide for yourself but I've done that a lot and made a lot of mistakes.

Destructoid review.
Fuck Jim Sterling. He's an idiot.
He gave Assassin's Creed II a 4.5/10, MW2 & MW3 a 9.5, while giving a BF3 a 7.5. He's a horrible critic and they need to stop giving him every game to review.
Just played this at GameStop for an hour, with a view to (p)review it. (Just a brief one, nothing fullblown)
To put it all in short, the game is colorful, the missions I've completed are of the "usual" variety, but with comical twists, (one example being a "hold your position while you kill soldiers" early in the game, when you then have to use the UAV missile and later end up shooting down choppers from your own helicopter all while the characters shout hilarious one-liners) the handling of the cars is as you'd expect, but also very responsive and with a natural feel. Good for drift happy gamers.
However, there are some quips, as it feels like this is what they wanted to include in Saint's Row 2, but had to omit due to the storyline or other obstacles. The graphics also feel a tad outdated, but all the color and variety in locations helps to make it feel fresh and makes you forget about graphics but makes you focus on fun.
Needless to say, wrestling people to the ground with spectacular moves and testicle punching the police is never going to grow old on me. The fun is over the top, the environment is varied and on par with any GTA map, and the dialogue will make you laugh.
Hope you find this somewhat useful. If not, hell, then I just spent 15 minutes typing another tl;dr.
It's already confirmed that SR3 on PC will look fucking amazing compared to consoles, so this isn't worrying.
I hope we can mod it like SR2
IdolNinja has already made super sliders for the initiation station, so I think other mods shouldn't be much of a problem.
I think he said the packaging system is almost exactly like SR2, so its easy to start modding with that base already
