Just finished all 30 rounds of whored mode with a friend.
It took just over a hour and was completely worth it, good times.

That's what the image shows, but it means your character takes no damage from vehicles, not your vehicle.
I know this because I was running around blasting cars with RPGs at close range when I got my "no damage from explosions" upgrade. A lot of the time, it would still knock me back and I'd take damage. Then I got the "no vehicle damage" one, and that no longer happens - I can run right up to all vehicles and blast them with the RPG, and my character is unaffected.

Some of it was ported to the pc in The Gentlemen of Steelport mod by Idolninja
