Because they wanted to focus more on the core game and make it better. IMO it was worth it, gameplay, visuals, sounds, animations and the city are all miles better than they could even dream to be in SR2.

Exactly what I was thinking when I discovered this series for myself, wasn't sure what kind of game I'm getting myself into. The jokes are good and when you catch it's drift you don't want to stop playing. Most people seem to be unaware of it's quality. My friends don't want to get it.

Why? Sure a few good simulators here and there are good but I thought we all played games because it took us OUT of reality, not put us in another form of it.

I suppose that, once you get down to it, it's about suspension of disbelief. Why try to escape reality when you'll be put back in it a few minutes later?
Of course, that doesn't mean good games have to have immersion. It just helps you escape to know that the things you're playing might be able to happen.

I thought it was pretty great, I love it. It tears up Aircraft pretty good too.
I used it to fight the boss in the bad end, it did more damage per-second to his VTOL than the Minigun.

Fully upgraded Laser Rifle is pretty great, since it fires at the same speed as the Krukov at that point, despite still being pretty accurate and having higher damage than the base one.
Plus it looks kinda cool.
I went back to check if the character importer was working the other day, and it turns out it was.
