ive been playing 2 in the past few weeks, this game is fucking awesome.
just went to the site and found out that this game was announced, then came to fp to find a thread about it, i did obviously.

AND now that i went back a few pages in the ggd i see that this is the megathread now :v:
I like how they forget at how Johnny has killed thousands of people and they just shrug it off and sell merchandise of him.

Just like Mickey Mouse.
I seem to have lost my Saints Row 2 for 360. Actually, I can't even remember if I owned it.
I enjoyed Saints Row 2 multiplayer, however, I did miss the fun game modes that were offered in Saints Row 1. Hopefully those old gamemodes will make a return alongside Strong arm.
I hated Strong Arm. If you like it, fair enough. But to be honest, I didnt really enjoy it myself.
I really like the Idea of being powerful from the start. Getting tired of "Okay, I just started, can't do or buy much right now. Okay, finished half of the game, more fun, more things to do, can buy something!. Yay, I'm super powerful now I can do anything I wa... Oh wait, I already spend 100 hours on this game, nothing is fun now, everything is boring"
-Wrong THREAD?!-
Hope it has country side and small towns in it.
On one hand, I'm excited, but on the other hand, it sounds ridiculously stupid.
Since when do crime organizations make a merchandise? I've never heard of any "Gambino's fresh soda". Saints never acted like a criminal organization anyway, but this is going a little too far. Since I didn't like any of the Saints in previous games (maybe with an expection of Pierce) I'm actually afraid that I'll root for that "Syndicate" when I'll play this game.
I know it's my fault, to try to take game like this seriously, but I just can't help myself. I guess it's good to have SR head in its own direction, but now I'll have to wait a little longer for another game like San Andreas - game that is over-the-top, but still with (mostly) serious crime story.
Go play mafia if you want serious.
Surely you have a better argument then, 'the game is horrible because the driving is bad'.
Personally, I had no problems with the driving on the console version. Your bad experience may be part due to the fact that you got the PC version.
I had frame rate issues on the PC version of being too fast.
I had to run crysis in the backround on maximum to get this game on high to go semi-normaly.
If this doesn't have gangs am going to be mad, sR2 was so shit compared to sR1.
/pageking
SR3 isn't going to be gang focused.

lies
lies
Nope, I played sR1 for 2 years because gangs where so addicting.
Played sR2 for Co-Op online was shit.
It's a joke
April Game Informer always does this
(If this is really real then my bad but, if you go instantly trusting a april edition you're kinda dumb)

THQ and Volition both formally announced SR3. Volition took the time and effort to design a new website. Someone took the time to create two different covers, both with an abundance of detail.
I'm pretty sure it's real. Mind if I ask; can you show proof of April gameinformers being jokes?

[release]Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you.
The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to Steelport, a once-proud metropolis reduced to a struggling city of sin under Syndicate control.
Take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite-targeted airstrike on a Mexican wrestling gang, and defend yourself against a highly-trained military force using only a sex toy in the most out-landish gameplay scenarios ever seen, igniting a city-wide war that will set Steelport on fire. Strap it on.[/release]
an insider peek into the most gory, glitzy, over-the-top game in history.
That's a pretty bold statement to make, considering Duke Nukem Forever and Postal 2 are going to be pretty hard to beat in that category without going too extreme.
Could anyone who has great photoshop skills take the first cover and remove all the letters on it and such to make for a desktop background?
Gah, sorry bout me being a skeptic, it just sounds insanely over the top, and Gameinformer does announce fake games on it's April edition as tradition,
Mushroom Kingdom Hearts
Wind Waker with Twilight Princess Graphics etc.

But Saint's Row is ALWAYS insanely over-the-top. You gain respect by spraying things with raw sewage for christ's sake!
Besides, when was the last time one of their fake games was on the cover issue?

Don't forget Mortal Kombat 9/2011.
To the people wanting a more serious Saints gang, look, you get respect for spraying shit on people, beating the living shit out of people in order to arrest them, and in SR3, taking a tank skydiving. I'm sure they aren't going through the Mafia/GTAIV route and going to over-the-top crazy shit gameplay.
Goddamn, I want this game right now. I just really hope as previously mentioned that it doesn't look like a playstation 2 game again. I'm all for gameplay>graphics but SR2 was kinda bad in the graphics department. Julius looked like some sort of fucking zombie or something.
Otherwise: Fuck yeah, Saints Row 3.
I pray to god those terrible driving controls are gone
I had so much fun playing 2 coop with my friend, amazing how everything from sp works in mp. Even if the netcode was a little shit.
They sort of did that with Pimps, but they weren't an official gang.
If you kill one, twenty of them will come out of nowhere and try to beat the shit out of you.
So like when you kill black people in Mafia II?
I remember turning on car mass hole cheat and ramming things in that 3 wheeled security car thing.
Could anyone who has great photoshop skills take the first cover and remove all the letters on it and such to make for a desktop background?
Admittedly, my skills aren't entirely great... but hey!
Relatively sharp 1900x1200 version.
Blurrier albeit gigantic 2702x1600 version.
I just realized why I thought this was fake at first. In that falling into the sky picture the main character looking dude looks like a grown up Kid Chameleon. Goddamn
I can't wait until I get to start playing and hear someone go "Oh hey did you get another haircut?"
But if they make some pre-order bullshit that keeps you from certain content in the game I will slap a ho. I'm sick of that shit.

When they did it was SR2 it was a generic code that could be inserted into the in game phone. So pre orders really didnt get anything
