In the gameplay commentary videos, they've said that the Airstrike you essentially have from the start of the game.
You had artillery, rockets and airstrikes from the start in mercenaries and it didn't really break the game.

the airstrike you get very early in the game but the predator drone (the one shown in the video) you probably get a little bit later.

I think I remember them saying in an interview you can get any weapon you want from the beginning of the game. Their reasoning was something along the lines not making it necessary to complete the campaign just to screw around with the weapons.
You have to unlock weapons through challenges or rack up the cash to buy em' would be my guess.
Yeah, it was in that 8 minutes of gameplay video. They want you to feel like you really are head of the Saints and how huge they have gotten from the start.
So it's essentially all about fun, which was obvious from the start.

That was already done in Mafia 2. Still, it will probably look better free falling through the air as an obese man.
The demo they showed at gamescom was a lot better than the previous ones, liked the hoverbike and Genki parts, the commentator was actually funny, too. (The Skyrim one was a pain in the ass so that was a pleasent surprise)
It's been stated you have everything from the start, but through respect you can upgrade your weapons with things such as various attachments laser sights, scopes and whatnot
I predict bomb radius upgrades, and other small damage tweaks.
There's probably some locked weapons like the pimpcane, but that might just be an upgrade since they stated in a video that it alters the weapons cosmetically too.

Well, Bethesda do show the same demo over and over since E3 when it first was seen. While Violation and THQ shows as much as they can because Saints Row is so hilarious.
Oh fuck, I'm definitely getting this game now. Screw the fact that I don't actually have any money.

It looks like there is a flashlight on one of the pistols. I dont see how that could be useful at all, in fact I think it would be annoying.

After seeing one of the first missions movie (not going to say exactly, maybe someone doesn't want to get spoiled), i wouldn't be surprised if there was a mission where you actually need to use a flashlight to see something.

Did anyone notice the saints symbol next to the pimp suit? It was the same one next to the pre-order bonus outfit, I guess that means DLC.
