Also, monsters spawn at earlier levels than before (for example, depths monsters in the caves).
Yeah, I see what you guys mean for the harder stuff. Another huge difference is, I keep seeing a ton of 1+1 bombs, not a single single bomb yet.
Well, that's probably just luck of the draw, nothing to do with harder game.
Well I made 4 deals with the devil and I got Eve plus It lives is dead.
Feels good man.
I just died on a real bad playthrough. This is how it happened :
I made a deal with the devil for two hearts early on as isaac.
Have one heart left.
Find no health power ups.
Finish rooms in Caves 1 go to boss encounter The Fallen :suicide:
>kill devil
So I was doing a Cain run and I fought a horseman in the basement, then a devil room appeared had the forget me now. So I used it to fight the horseman again for another cube of meat and the reward room after using the forget me now gave me The Book of Revelations. I sure am lucky!
And then this:

And now I only need to die 100 times to get the sheers, I think I need to find all of the items to get 100%

Check out my new avatar
Why is it when I get great items (last run i had Book of Revelations but no battery, 3 cubes of meat, a ton of damage powerups, etc) I get stuck with 2 heart containers and almost no health drops, then get tons of rooms with no moving space and tons of Maws, Knights and Babies??
Getting these last 8 items I need is boring.
Go to item room, use dice, restart, repeat.

My eyes. Why
So I decided to do a Maggie run today, because she's my favorite character thus far.
Got technology and chocolate milk. OK, pretty lucky I guess.
Beat mom, got to the womb for the first time and beat mom's heart.
Decided to go to Sheol, beat war and tore Satan a new asshole first try.
Didn't expect to do so well,
For some reason, I can take out any of the lower level bosses (pretty much anything before The Depths or the Womb) without ANY effort...
...except for Gurdy
The items that you get are chosen at random, except for secret rooms / horseman battles.
Well, not exactly. I've noticed that drops from bosses are much more likely to be the Coat Hanger, one of Mom's range-up accessories, or one of the "food" items than anything else. Some special bosses, such as Steven, only drop a few select items unless you already have all of those items. EG: Steven will always drop Little Steven, but if you have that already (or re-roll it) he'll always drop the Steven damage increasing item. Gish will always drop Little Gish and C.H.A.D. will always drop Little Chad if you don't have them.
Also, certan items, like Bob's Head, My Little Unicorn, Transcendence, and the 1-up are more common in secret rooms, and the Batteries, Ladder, Compass, and Map are very common in shops (also the Bible becomes more common in shops if you have the Rosary or Guardian Angel)

I want to replace brimstone beam's texture with "YEEEEAAAAHHHH" beam.
lol you can't do that this is actionscript.
I got Steven (the damage up) from Steven when I didn't have Little Steven or any other follower (Basement 1) as Judas.
It's visible in the first screenshot I posted a little above.
The Steven can be found like any other item, but it's also one of the two items dropped my the Steven boss, the other being the Little Steve.

Mom always drops a mom item, and secret rooms have a small pool of items.
The rest I forgot about.

I've gotten food items off mom multiple times so either food is considered a mom item or you're wrong :v:

I know, duh
So I just got this game yesterday and a notification popped up: "The Bean has appeared in the basement!". What does it mean?
So I just got this game yesterday and a notification popped up: "The Bean has appeared in the basement!". What does it mean?
It means you've met the requirements to unlock a new item, the bean. It will randomly appear in any item room, not just the basement.

You unlocked the bean, a new item, by destroying poop.
Also it sucks.

It's the second worst active item, only being better than The Poop.

Lemon mishap is also pretty much rubbish.

The pattern here is that all toilet humor items suck.
I just got my 4th game beat.
Devil room opened.
If i head to sheol early, will i still get The Quarter?
Nevermind, found out on my own

number one.

I've beaten the game 6 or 7 times, how do you get to sheol?

Huh. I always ended up with Little Steven
Edit:
number one.
Number one sucks. I once got screwed over by that item because I had to get too damn close to everything to hit. It irreversibly turns your range into complete piss (literally) and makes it so that you are always within striking range of any given enemy if you want to hit them. Mom's knife gets away with this because it instakills pretty much everything. Number one does not.
There are better ways to increase your DPS.
I've beaten the game 6 or 7 times, how do you get to sheol?
After you beat it 10 times you can always enter Sheol.
Before then, if you do really well against the heart you can enter it.
