MW2 is, surprisingly, on my priority of games to get. Definitely below Skyrim, BF3, and Saints Row 3, though.
anyone know how to do that VPN shit?
I was joking. Atleast I have plenty of boxes to live in :(
I figured you might be, but with the amount of serious anti-CoD people in the thread, I figured I'd clarify anyways.

"Pick up the story where Modern Warfare T. fucking. M. ended and continue the single player experience." Were they really that worried that their players might forget this is a sequel to MW2 that they had to explicitly tell you that the story will, shock horror, continue from MW2's?
You didn't really need to go into detail. Nobody gives a fuck about a menu. I think I'll probably pick this game up early next year or something. It looks good, but it's not on my priority list.
Believe it or not, the Bandwagon doesn't gives a fuck \_:v:_/
So about that VPN...
Ahaha. Oh wow, really? "Pick up the story where Modern Warfare T. fucking. M. ended and continue the single player experience." Its like IW is trying to please kings or something... [editline]8th November 2011[/editline]
So about that VPN...
Nothing to fear of it! You'll be transported safely!
How does one acquire a working VPN thus unlocking MW3 and playing it at this moment?
Sheesh, hope people don't start whining that they have to start the game manually aswell. Its like IW is trying to please kings or something...
You there. Stop taking any form of even remotely negative comments as a attack on the game. I was just pointing out that this is the only game that I have seen in recent history that feels the need to inform the player that, yes, they are in fact playing the sequel to the game of the same name. It is almost like they don't trust their customers to remember it :v:
Is Special Ops the same thing as Spec Ops? Because I heard it was just some sort of survival mode.

I mean, it was really unknown if Soap and Price would even be in the game until a trailer confirmed it. Before then they were never seen, mentioned, heard, or anything of the sort. Besides that, there could be a big time lapse or something that is sometimes seen in sequels, so, saying it picks up right from where MW2 left off isn't really dumb. Also wow are you really nitpicking at the menu.
Is Special Ops the same thing as Spec Ops? Because I heard it was just some sort of survival mode.
There's the survival mode and the MW2 style spec ops missions.
Decrypting MW3, used VPN-S Secure Networks, its not so fast because i live in finland, but its ok.
There's the survival mode and the MW2 style spec ops missions.
Fuck yes, anticipation just rose.
Correct me if Im wrong but didnt MW2 have the exact same thing for campaign description, just switch Modern Warfare 2 for Modern Warfare.

They haven't done anything fancy with this game yet. They've had almost the entirely same objective point on the HUD when I expected them to actually spunk them up this time in MW3. I want an actual new game.
Decrypting MW3, used VPN-S Secure Networks, its not so fast because i live in finland, but its ok.
can you get in trouble for that

But if you read my post above, you'll see I was just commenting on the fact I haven't seen any other games do anything like that recently as it is safe to assume the sequel to a game will have largely the same characters and setting, and you know, continue the storyline in some way. It's like having a really polite guy stood behind you, waiting for you to select the Single Player option just to lean over and whisper; "Just so you know, this is the sequel to MW2, adds to the story and all that. Oh? You knew? Well, I was just making sure man, you never know!".
can you get in trouble for that
Why the hell would you? Getting banned for loggin in from other ip? I dont think so :D
can you get in trouble for that
Valve can action you if they deem fit, but really the only thing they historically have an issue with is using a VPN to buy a game outside your region (ie: Germans buying uncut games this way). Your account *may* get suspended coz Steam sees your account connected from a super far away spot randomly and has an account safeguard buttttt, there's really no history of anyone getting punished for using a VPN to bypass a release date.

It is however funny to see the most anticipated game remembering people that its the sequel to its also anticipated prequel :v:
The amount of people freaking out about the main menu is borderline hilarious. THE MENU IS THE SAME YOU BOUGHT THE SAME GAME. HALO GENERALLY HAS THE SAME MENU SYSTEM FROM GAME TO GAME SO THEY'RE REALLY ALL THE SAME. PORTAL AND PORTAL 2 BASICALLY HAD THE SAME MENU THEREFORE SAME GAME. Holy shit. You're going to be seeing the main menu for all of five seconds whenever you boot up the game, I really don't give a shit what it looks like. It could be three piles of dog shit labeled CAMPAIGN, SPEC OPS, and MULTIPLAYER and I still wouldn't care, because I'm not going to be looking at it for any reason other than to pick what I want to play. Does it convey to you that you can pick what you want to play? Yes? Great! That's what a main menu is for!
You just wasted 60 bucks... Don't get me wrong, the first modern warfare was great.
I'm sorry, but we don't go into your threads saying you just wasted X ammount of money or saying your "beloved" game choices suck. So either get out, or actually discuss something about the game, while trying to be unbiased.
The amount of people freaking out about the main menu is borderline hilarious.
I was joking because I saw this shit coming.
Ya, MW3 works great now even without the VPN, time to play ---> See ya Suckers!
Ya, MW3 works great now even without the VPN, time to play ---> See ya Suckers!
Can you at least tell us how you did it?
See what I mean HexpunK?
The amount of people freaking out about the main menu is borderline hilarious. THE MENU IS THE SAME YOU BOUGHT THE SAME GAME. Mw3 has been in the top sellers maybe every day since it was available for pre-order on steam. It still is. OR, I'm just gonna play MW3 like a boss and without even giving a damn about anything.
I used VPN-S Secure Network. Its not free, but its good. Didint find free Australian VPN.
