BF3 (and a lot of games) do the same thing. Re-use of game assets is a quick and easy way to cut costs on games that are rapidly becoming insanely expensive.
You should post pictures of BF3 doing something like this. So we know if they actually do.
faaaaaaaaaaaaake
That's Shawn and Rocco from Mega64, I highly doubt it's staged.
I would have yelled something like: " You SHEEP, HOW ABOUT YOU GUYS PLAY A REAL GAME. LIKE MINECRAFT OR KILLING FLOOR. "
I heard screw Mega64 :v:
Halfway through the singleplayer right now, it's alright. Nothing we haven't seen before in previous CoD games. They brought back an AC130 section which is cool though, I always replayed that in CoD4 and it was my favorite spec ops mission in MW2. Graphically the game looks pretty good, not amazing, but when you consider the fact it's on the quake III engine (albeit highly modified) it definitely keeps up with the competition. There's even occasional bits of destruction which was a nice feature. Sound wise everything sounds like a goddamn autocannon. Not necessarily realistic, but it fits the action movie them CoD games have always favored. One thing that is weird to me after playing BF3 is how weapon attachments work. Its somewhat annoying that I can't deploy the bipod that was clearly modeled for the M14 or activate the LAM on my USP. Coming from a game where very damn part of your gun has switches and doodads will do that I suppose. On the positive side, I am digging some of the gameplay tweaks that have occured for the first time since CoD4. Grenade launcher damage is vastly reduced, requiring you to drop a grenade right below someone to get the kill. No doubt an attempt on the devs part to make it more of a supression/damaging weapon rather than a power weapon itself. The knife change is welcomed as well, though it takes some time getting used to. Still not huge on the one hit kill to the front (BF3 doing the back assassinations is the preferable way for melee to work in an FPS) but you atleast can't teleport to people anymore. Just decided to type this up because I am too damn tired tonight to finish the game in one sitting. I said I was halfway through but I honestly have no idea where I am at. Total playtime at this point is a little under 3 hours which already makes it longer than my BF3 playthrough though.
I miss the MW2 soundtracks, they were awesome.
Holy shit, that [sp]Davis Family Vacation[/sp] bit was really shocking, and tragic.
[sp]Youtube spoiled that part where you are an FSO agent protecting the Russian President, he dies because of Makarov. :([/sp]
[sp] The campaign ruined the whole game for me. They did so much wrong, just completely wrong. Soap, one of the main characters and the main player character, dies without you even getting to play as him again. Honestly what. They just introduce some random russian guy who was somehow there with makarov at all the major events of the last two games and use him as the player character.[/sp] I dont know why but I simply cant enjoy the multiplayer now. I just feel so empty. [editline]8th November 2011[/editline] [sp] And what the fuck ever happened to the whole Ghost, Archer and Toad thing? I mean for fucks sake there was potential for a seriously cool flashback sequence there. To me the campaign felt as though it was missing its third act.[/sp]
Does anyone else regret buying this game? I've played muiltiplayer for about five hours and I feel like I waisted my money. Multiplayer is not fun online, if my friends aren't playing the game I don't even feel like playing it. But I have yet to play campaign. so I hope that will be atleast worth it.
Send me boxes, because this game fucking sucks. I own every Call of Duty game, as well as every Battlefield game (so you can't say I'm a fanboy to one particular series), and this is an insult to every Call of Duty game in the past. Let's look at what's wrong: 1. The story is complete shit. There is nothing new or memorable about it. Big things fall, Price kicks ass left and right, the same old. 2. The multiplayer is pretty much the same shit as before only with the new dogtag bullshit. 3. The graphics engine is the same one used for Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. 4. The guns have almost no recoil, eliminating any real challenge. 5. The menus and layouts have the exact same layout. Sorry, but I'm pretty sure I'm done buying Call of Duty games. I'm getting tired of seeing the same shit over and over. At least Battlefield added new shit. It didn't keep re-wraping the same game in new paper.
3. The graphics engine is the same one used for Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.
COD game developers have used the same engine since Call of Duty 3.
Sorry, but I'm pretty sure I'm done buying Call of Duty games.
Okay. Bye. [editline]8th November 2011[/editline] Also FYI this is, in fact, a new engine. It's IW 6.0 I believe, or as they call it, the MW3 Engine.
Been playing all day/night. It's pretty fun. It's confusing though. I roll with support no matter what, considering I'm EXTREMELY rusty at cod and will die a lot, so I might as well support my team. At first, I was sniping w/ the L119 or whatever, and using the FM69. Greatest secondary everrr. I got to level Ten on the FM, level 6 with the L119. I just unlocked the PPM69 or something lol. So far I'm liking it, I can't wait to unlock the Bouncing betty though. I'm already level 29 which suprises me. [editline]9th November 2011[/editline] Answers in bold
To be fair the new weapons pretty much feel exactly like the ones in the mw2, and the recoil is so insignificant it doesn't even really affect the gun.
The midnight launch was totally ruined:
Woah... So many virgins
To be fair the new weapons pretty much feel exactly like the ones in the mw2, and the recoil is so insignificant it doesn't even really affect the gun.
To be fair.. have you seen MW2's M4A1? That shit could out-snipe the intervention/any sniper, across Afghan. You'd be lucky to stay on your target from med-range with it if you were aiming at the head, meanwhile, MW2's could get a headshot from across the map w/o breaking aim. And the UMP can't snipe anymore. It's not insignificant.
The TAR is gone isn't it? :( Was my all time favorite weapon of all shooters. Iron sights were great and adding on a suppressor made it extremely useful. Everyone complained about the recoil but I loved it.
I would have yelled something like: " You SHEEP, HOW ABOUT YOU GUYS PLAY A REAL GAME. LIKE MINECRAFT OR KILLING FLOOR. "
Oh little Billy, listen son. When your balls drop, then maybe you will have strong enough voice to get everyone´s attention. Until then, let everyone do what they want with the money they have earned with hard work and dont bitch about it
I just found my "PRE-ORDER MW2 NOW" shirt I got when I worked at Gamestop :v: I should have applied again and worn it to work one day just to confuse people and make it a sick joke at the same time.

So how's MW3? I'm busy with BF3 and soon will be with Skyrim and Saints Row 3, so I'll get MW3 some time after Christmas. I'll be getting MW3 for the campaign mainly, then play the multiplayer whenever I have time for it. From what I see it looks exactly like MW2 but I'm not worrying too much, as long as the campaign is as good as the other CoD campaigns it's fine for me.
Mw3 is WAY better than BF3. Mw3: Bf3: (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Swebonny))

I like how you don't use the 'professional critic' side of it because MW3 has a higher score than BF3.
You are the true definition of a fanboy. Defending an obviously shit game.
Thank you for that unnecessarily insulting comment, captain useful.
I hope I'll enjoy MW3... If no, oh well, it was 35$

I just finished the Campaign, I honestly think it was better than MW3's. Probably not CoD4's.
