I don't see why being balance happy is a bad thing. Having a balanced game is good. How is there a middle ground between balanced and unbalanced? Generally it's one or the other. If a weapon is good, but not too good, it's balanced. If a weapon is too good, it is unbalanced. There's no real way to be both balanced and unbalanced.
In my opinion Treyarch kind of fumbled with the single player. It was a good experience and it had surprising amounts of depth. However, it didn't really have many spots I wanted to re-play. It just kind of felt like once you played it once, there was no point in playing it again. I myself return to the Washing D.C. missions in Modern Warfare 2 time and time again just because they feel so epic and fun, and definitely entertain. I fail to see why someone's prestige level effects the fun you have with the game. It doesn't reflect skill, and it doesn't really give them any edge over regular players, so it just seems like you had a problem with people who played a lot. The MP40 was definitely overpowered, but it wasn't unbeatable. How is Black Ops boring due to 'worries of balance'? That doesn't make any sense. If a game is balanced, you should be not worried, due to the fact that it's based on skill more than what weapon you're using.
I played both campaigns once. I returned to the WMD level in Black Ops and the first snow level in MW2 a few times because those were the best.
The 'balance' is essentially making every gun the same. Most of the assault rifles feel exactly the same and stats wise there's only two types of smg.
Thats not balance though. thats being lazy.
The 'balance' is essentially making every gun the same. Most of the assault rifles feel exactly the same and stats wise there's only two types of smg.
Not really. If every assault rifle is exactly the same, why is are the FAMAS and AUG the best ones of them all? If there are only two types of SMGs, why do a lot of them behave differently?

There are only two SMGs though. AK74U/MP5K and every other smg.

You forgot the Spectre. The Uzi and the Scorpion are pretty good too.
If you look closely at the end of the trailer the killstreaks arent just kills, its points in general, and the more points you get, the bar goes up to reach the next killtreak alligned.

i.e. Commando, AK-47, Galil
Seriously there's little to no difference...

also the way JFK says Dragovich, is fucking hilarious.
the MPL is pretty decent too.
I'm also probably going to buy mw3 and then feel ashamed about it later.
I'd play Black Ops a ton more if everyone and their dogs would stop using the Famas.
just prestiged
went to ffa with mp5k
picked up famas
win with 20 kill lead
i am ashame

Yeah, and i said black ops will be the last call of duty game.
Not getting too excited for this though. They have to seriously impress me with the Mutliplayer.

Im thinking this HUD for Multiplayer is still being worked on. I like looking at interesting huds as much as some people like reload animations.
The Map at the top left looks a bit unfitting. Surely thats a work in progress.
These point streaks just seem to be kill streaks with a fancy name attached to them. 14 points for the Juggernaught "Streak", yet the scoreboard says 700, each kill in a Free for all is 50. That seems to be 14 kills.
I'll take a stab at the dark here and say the Juggernaut "Point" streak seems to be like the Big Daddy Armor found in Bioshock's 2 Multiplayer.
Also, it appears that those nametags seen in MW2 and Black ops have Disappeared. Unless it's still a work in progress.
Played with the Uzi for the first time in forever today. It's not that bad honestly. Grip is a must with it, and Silencer helps it out. A lot. This is my loadout:
Uzi w/ Grip and Silencer
ASP
Semtex
Stun
Scavenger
Warlord
Hacker

One thing I'm worried about in MW3 is the juggernaut killstreak being OP to the point that I don't want to play it anymore. If it is anything like the Big Daddy suit from Bioshock 2, it won't be that much fun. Maybe instead of a player getting into the suit, an AI will be in it and each kill it gets goes towards your kills? That sounds much better, since AI aren't exactly the brightest..
It'll probably be an AI.
I'm actually kind of excited for MW3.
I'm actually kind of excited for MW3.
Me too but just for survival mode, unless multiplayer is really good.
I'm actually kind of excited for MW3.
Same but they seriously need new gun sounds cause they sounds exactly like in MW2 in that trailer.
I don't care what they sound like, as long as the game is fun, it's fine with me.

I hope they don't have any Playercards. Those were annoying. Seriously, how many "porn" playercards can one guy make?
I do mind a bit about recycled stuff...

IMO the Jugger thing popping up isnt a killstreak probabbly, but a sort of ranking up word that pops up after each kills, say you get like your first kill, it would pop up Private or Just getting Started.
Fact: FFA is the easiest gamemode in the game
my k/d was just a measly 1.29 and i raised it to 1.37 :v:
I do mind a bit about recycled stuff...
I don't see why. I'd prefer they focus on Gameplay and making it fun rather than stressing over their gun sounds or animations.

This might be late but, a killstreak meter in the bottom right and some sort of new primary nade?
Probably, bouncing betty/claymore of some sort, and the killstreak meter is counting how much point you got until you get the killstreak.
I hope they balance out the UMP/AK74U. Those things are a HUGE annoyance in their respective CoD game(s)
AK74U was nerfed already. Also now you cant combine half the attachments with warlord.
I hope they balance out the UMP/AK74U. Those things are a HUGE annoyance in their respective CoD game(s)
I don't think it was that the UMP was too good in MW2, it's that the other SMGs were just shit. They had a lot of recoil and didn't really have anything to set them apart from the assault rifles. The AK74U isn't even that bad now, it's been nerfed to hell and back, I don't know why people still bitch about it. Just because you get killed by a gun doesn't mean it's overpowered.
This is probably a stupid question that has been asked before, but how come when at the end of the specops trailer when Robert Bowling gets killed by that bouncing betty thing the kill icon is an ac-130?
UMP was miles better than the rest though. Never used any smgs in MW2 much.
The P90 was actually really good in my opinion, in both modern warfares.
UMP was miles better than the rest though. Never used any smgs in MW2 much.
Like I said, they all fucking sucked except the UMP. I mean, people bitch about how there are only two or three worthwhile SMGs in Black Ops, there was basically only one in MW2.
