Need a spec ops partner. Anyone?
Everyday I see at least one person post how battlefield 3 is so much better and how COD sucks and the fanbase sucks, yet I have not seen one COD person shitting in the battlefield thread. Last time I checked it was Dice who started this rivalry and it always seems to be battlefield fans who start the COD vs battlefield argument also. I know the community for COD is pretty immature, but from the actions I have seen the anti-COD dudes are just as bad. It seems people can't get it through their heads that battlefield and COd focus on completely different styles of game play and the only similarities are the genre and subject. I will be buying both, and I am sure I will get entertainment out of both. Also one last thing, it seems like people are just trying to find something wrong with COD for the sake of it. Reusing assets for example in video games is an extremely common thing and there are plenty games I sure you enjoy that do just that. I am sure a lot of people enjoy the assassin's creed franchise. They reuse architecture, animations, sounds, and plenty of assets in their games.

I fucking love it), and NOBODY COMPLAINS ABOUT THAT. What is with people and hating CoD?
A lot of games re-use old assets. Hell, even the new Mortal Kombat game, which is a reboot of the franchise and is the first one in... Two years I think (?) re-uses assets from prior games.

The core game itself feels like it's lacking a sense of openness. And feels really older school. Don't get me wrong. But the core mechanic is being re-hashed way too much. Although the engine is perfect for systems such as PS Vita and this generation of consoles. It would be nice to see more transition with their technology when a newer generation of consoles hits. I think this is what will save the franchise from boredom. The new features are nice though. And I know we will never (in a while) see COD on a newer ID based engine. As the relationship between ID and Activision is really bad. Due to royalties and other stuff Activision kind of fucked over ID.
By this point moving engine might be fairly hard. They would have to remake a lot of the modifications again, and honestly by this point, even iD Tech 4 would work better and they would probably be able to carry their changes over easily. I can't see Activision giving them the money, or the Dev team wanting to spend the money for iD Tech 5 when they probably don't see it as necessary. Any engine improvement would be nice, the changes they do now are either all graphical or pointless.
I think people dislike COD so they find any and every reason to bad mouth it.
reusing shit was an advertising point of MK9
I don't mean the gameplay, I'm saying they recycled some models and other assets from Mortal Kombat Armageddon, and had been recycling models and animations and such from prior games before that.

The NES style finishing moves and clothing. [editline]17th August 2011[/editline] Shouldnt say nes. Old game console/arcade style.

I mean, if Call of Duty had, like, a flashback mission to some level from Call of Duty 1 or 2, I wouldn't really call it lazy, because it's more of a callback than a ripoff.

While having conversations at school people often say "CoD sucks. Its so repetitive. How do you play it?" to which I respond "How do you play WoW for 15 hours every day you dont have school?"
PC version of MW3 is going to have dedicated servers http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/118/1188343p1.html
Sounds like they are spending a lot of money to make Elite.
So I was playing some CTF and I decided, I would play defensively with a Galil /w silencer, Lightweight Pro, Steady Aim Pro and Ninja Pro and stop the flag runners. One of the reasons is due to this thing on Call of Duty Elite to see who could get the most defends on Black Ops, I thought I'll have a go getting a badge for coming in whatever division I get put into at the end of the competition. And I am playing normal CTF on cracked, 2nd half and this guy on the other team who was using a Ak74u /w rapid fire, and Ghost decides to page me a voice message full of vulgar language and hate, the parts I managed to translate was to "stop camping" of course, I decided I would continue to camp and eventually I seen the guy again running into the shack near the back of the map, I waited for him and killed him, then well we somehow lost connection to host as soon as I killed him. Here is evidence of such a violent display of hate and fury. First time on CTF I actually got hatemail!

Ugh, they still don't get it do they? The best way is dedicated servers + matchmaking for finding a server, atleast for ranked. Nuketown only is proof of this.

Want to find a good game in CoD4 on the PC? Well FUCK YOU, you'll have to deal with: 1.) 24/7 Shit-Maps 2.) Servers with 45-50 people 3.) Empty Servers 4.) Shitty Zombies mods 5.) Some other shitty mod 6.) Hardcore, no good perks/weaponry allowed servers 7.) Some bastardized mix of all of the above
Yeah, pretty much all servers in COD4 are hardcore wallbang servers.
I think people dislike COD so they find any and every reason to bad mouth it.
If you are referring to me. I am actually not bad mouthing it. It's just a route i'd like to see the game take. I think after MW3. They should really consider moving to another engine and creating a fresh game.

It would suceed and everybody knows it. Campaign: You play the story of richtofen, demsey etc from start to end. Zombie Survival: Classic Treyarch zombie maps with new ones and all that shit. Zombie Versus: Dunno bout this one but it could include perks and all that for zombies aswell for humans. That would make the COD franchise fresh for a year.

I have been a long time Battlefield (see avatar) and Call of Duty fan since the beginnings of both series and while for the most part they have the same kind of community (assholes, cool people, other folks), starting with Bad Company 2's launch all the way up to this Battlefield 3 hype train has just turned the BF community into a bunch of annoying fanboys. They can't comprehend the fact that, holy shit, people actually do like playing shooters where they don't have to rely on 31 other people to carry them, or get farmed by vehicles, or the destruction, or the lack of precision and control Battlefield games are known for. Not to mention the sweeping generalizations about CoD players. I'd like to go to the Battlefield thread, and do now that news is coming out, but unless you are talking about new info that has released or a trailer the vast majority of time is spent reading how much of an idiot child I am for enjoying that other modern military series. It's a huge turn-off. As someone who has actively played every Battlefield game (every), I have to say the Battlefield community is noticeably more toxic than the CoD community, atleast recently. Yeah you still get those "MODERN WARFARE IS DA BEST BF3 SUX" people on Youtube and such, but the anti-CoD hate seems much more focused and distilled. On the subject of reusing game assets and gameplay, there are multiple ways to explain why someone would want to buy the "same game" year after year. I will list three. 1) They like the game: That simple, they like the predecessor, so of course they will buy a sequel that offers the same feel with new weapons, maps, and features. This is also, coincidentally, the one that most people can't seem to wrap their heads around. They don't like Call of Duty, so how could anyone else possibly enjoy it? As you said, people buy Assassins Creed every year (or atleast I do) because I am absolutely sure of what I am getting. People are buying BF3 because it's going to be like BC2 (arbitrary player counts and map sizes notwithstanding). 2) "Same game" statement: Is flawed. You aren't buying the same game, period, end of story. It plays similarly (see above) but you get new weapons, maps, modes, perks, killstreaks, sounds, animations, textures. You get a new campaign. You also get a new feel for the game when all these things are combined. Call of Duty 1 plays differently from CoD4, which plays differently from Black Ops. It's hard to explain without playing the game for awhile, but you do see the differences 3) Innovation: Call of Duty Black Ops had one of the biggest entertainment launches of all time, and sold more units than almost any other game, ever. What this tells me is that the consumers demand for a game that they know they will enjoy outstrips the demand for innovation. At this point Activision stands to lose a lot if they try to majorly shake up the series with the chance of getting people who absolutely need every video game they buy to be a unique new experience (at this point I am talking about people who bought Bad Company 2 and are currently drooling over Battlefield 3). All in all I would say Activision has a good working relationship with it's consumer base.
CoD5 is filled with hackers. People call me a hacker when i have 15 kills and 4 deaths with the DP-25. Bitch i dont have godmode or flying but look at Xx420WeeD4LyFExX. He's flying and killing in one shot with the M1911 why dont you fucking say anything
