Just because you've managed to play old games, with low FOVs (hint: older shooters have pretty high FOV), on various consoles and computers for years doesn't mean there isn't a problem. It doesn't mean you have great eyes either, I've done the same throughout my life too (longer than your 7 years too). If you always play with a low FOV you adjust to it, and your eyes start to focus on it better. Having a low FOV isn't a problem when sat a good distance away from a screen, but when you get nearer you want a larger FOV to actually be able to emulate what you would see. Imagine your screen as a window into a 3D world, not the 2D plane it shows. Sitting further back, you are going to see less to the sides, sitting closer you are going to have a higher periphery. This is why having a higher FOV when close to a screen is advantageous, and lowers the problem of motion sickness caused by low FOV in some people. The FOV you see on a console is around 60-70 degrees, which at the distances you are meant to sit is great, your eyes can focus on it naturally. On a average PC game the FOV defaults to around 70-80, that extra 10 degrees allows your eyes to focus much more comfortably at the closer range. Now if you look at people who play PC games with a FOV of around 90 (which is great for the distance you sit from a monitor, plus it doesn't stretch the fuck out of the game or show viewmodel errors). Going into a game like MW3 where the FOV is locked to something low like 65 is really going to fuck with your perception of motion. Crank it up a notch or old school Quake players who used stupid FOVs like 120, and it just gets so much worse. It's nothing to do with your eyes being "better", and is an objective thing. If you have grown up with low FOV you tend to have fewer problems, monitor size, previous experience and distance all play factors into if you are going to suffer any problems with FOV changes.
OR, I play both with big and small FOV's and am completely fine with it. [editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
So the FMG9s are getting some "re-balancing" sometime this week maybe early next week. This makes me happy
More spread please. I don't want to use them anymore. They are like cheating. [editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
Uh, I went about 25-10 with the KSG-12 in MP. They're really not bad at all, and can often outclass almost any gun in CQB provided it's a fair fight. You just have to be good with them.
KSG? Nope. At least on my end. I can fail to kill someone at almost point blank range with all the pellets hitting. fml [editline]1st December 2011[/editline]
I don't get it, what's so bad with the join ops emblem?
Its usually people mashing your face on how they smoke weed or just to look cool and stuff like that. I don't really care, but I usually see those people as complete dolts who think their better because they smoke and "rebelled"...
OR, I play both with big and small FOV's and am completely fine with it.
I addressed that if you bothered to read my post through properly rather than skimming it. If you are used to low FOVs, you can deal with low FOVs in almost all circumstances, if you aren't, a low FOV is going to wreck your ocular shit. If you switch between the two you are much less likely to suffer from problems that somebody who always uses high, or always uses a low FOV will. As I said, problems caused by FOV exist, just because you don't get them doesn't make you a better human, a better player, and better whatever, it just means you don't suffer from the problems.
I feel sorry for people having FOV problems.. was the same in Dead Island at first for some people. Spend much money then get sick of motion blur and FOV without options to turn that off, it's unfair.. really unfair.

Never said I suffer from them that much :v: It would suck as thanks to my uni room I have to sit close to my monitor to use consoles, renowned for their low FOV. It would suck to get constant motion sickness from that I must say.
Goddamn, the KSG either is a piece of shit even at point blank or kills people in 1 go at 2 meters...
I need some help. Every time i try to play MW3 Multiplayer it will get stuck on Connecting to 'online services'. You can check my steam account on the left <-- and my specs are plenty, 2500k and 570. Then, when i close it, steam still says im ingame. iw5mp.exe won't close, and i can't close it with task manager/process viewer. Both will say acces denied. Right clicking and selecting properties on iw5mp.exe in task manager, somehow links to system32.. ? I've already tried verify game integrity thing.
KSG? Nope. At least on my end. I can fail to kill someone at almost point blank range with all the pellets hitting. fml
That is literally impossible. If half of the pellets from a shotgun blast hit, it's generally a one hit kill. If you hit with all of the pellets, you should have killed them.

Today, I either killed with 1 shot from 2 meters away, or I shoot 2 or even 3 times up close and they still live. I saw some killcam where I was pretty close to the guy, shot him once, and only got a red blood mark on his screen showing from where he was getting shot from, and nothing else. As soon as I shot him another time, he finally got a near death bloody screen, until he had time to turn back and kill me before I could put another shot in him. I really wish they'd made the KSG either more powerfull, or have more pellets, or more range, or give it a faster firing rate.

Damage is alright too. It pretty much makes it so if you hit a guy, it's a one shot kill.
The one thing I hate about this game... everybody does everything the same. Same weapons, same perks, same killstreaks, same tactics, same route, EVERYTHING. I love to mix things up. Assault rifles: ACR, SCAR, CM901. SMGs: UMP, PPM901 LMGS: Fuck that, nobody even uses them! They're so useful. Snipers: MSR. I love this gun, and I rarely see snipers but If anything I see this a lot Shotguns: Striker. I love this gun, I use it a lot, but holy fuck it's hard to counter. You have to come from behind. ATM, I'm rocking the L96. It's really good so far. I heard that it has practially no recoil with thermal, so I'm going for that.
I like how much bitching there is about the Type 95, and then you say people don't even use it. Okay. [editline]1st December 2011[/editline] Also why do you hate that? There are popular guns. So what? It's not like any of those are particularly overpowered.

It does for me.
I don't use LMGs because the two good ones are also the last two you unlock. In fact about everything good and unique is extremely late level. You have to play forever just to have every option for creating a unique playstyle for yourself.
2:15 he starts with L96 thermal+grip. Looks pretty solid.
My personal gripe isn't with the Type 95. Doesn't dying by the same damn guns get boring? It does for me.
Uh, I don't really care. When I boot up CoD, I don't think "Wow, I hope I get killed by new and exciting guns today!"
L86 with silencer is pretty good.
2:15 he starts with L96 thermal+grip. Looks pretty solid.
It is similar to the L86 with grip in MW2.
L86 God, it's in the video and the game :v:
All of the LMGs are decent, but I don't really find they can do anything better than the Assault Rifles can, besides have a ton of bullets per magazine.
All of the LMGs are decent, but I don't really find they can do anything better than the Assault Rifles can, besides have a ton of bullets per magazine.
L86 w thermal and grip is like a laser, it does pretty damn well. Which AR's do good with thermal? I think the ACR does, not sure.
L86 w thermal and grip is like a laser, it does pretty damn well. Which AR's do good with thermal? I think the ACR does, not sure.
ACR and M4 do pretty well. Scar can use it pretty well too, if you put kick on it.
Uh, I don't really care. When I boot up CoD, I don't think "Wow, I hope I get killed by new and exciting guns today!"
You truly are the most boring person alive. It's nice to see some variation in what people use in these kinds of games, it gives you a slight challenge, you get to see what kind of weird and wonderful ways people play with different guns. It does get pretty boring seeing the same few weapons constantly, it's not that we are looking forward to seeing the other weapons being used, it's just nice to know that some people do actually use something different. CoD4 ended up with everybody using the AK-47, AKs-74u, M40A3 and R700 in most games (largely because of ~~Pr0MoDDD~~~~). They aren't exactly balanced weapons (bolt actions would be if it weren't thanks to the wonky shooting mechanisms allowing for retarded bullshit). World at War ended up with every single person using the MP40 or STG.44 as they were straight up unbalanced. It gets tiring hearing the same sound every few seconds, dying to the same crap everybody else is using because it is just better. MW2 doesn't suffer from this as much, but the only Sniper Rifle I see in use in the Intervention, the only sidearms tend to be the G18s, or any pistol w/ tac. knife, the only SMG I see used is the UMP 45 as that is pretty overpowering in comparison to similar guns, and barely anybody uses the other weapons. It just gets boring seeing the same weapons. That is all there is to it. It just isn't as interesting. [editline]2nd December 2011[/editline]
It is similar to the L86 with grip in MW2.
Extremely underrated weapon in MW2, plus the unique ACOG (SUSAT) makes it that much more awesome to use.
Speaking of straight up unbalanced, anyone remember the WaW PPSH-41?
Speaking of straight up unbalanced, anyone remember the WaW PPSH-41?
Ahh, I like that gun due to how it sounded, but it felt wrong to use it :v:
I thought this was a pretty good one
You truly are the most boring person alive.
Because I don't really care that much about what the enemy team is using, because there aren't huge performance jumps between weapons, makes me the most boring person alive? Yeah okay.
