I just played FFA for the first time ever earlier today.
Got 1st three times and 2nd once, all with a weapon I hadn't used before (leveled it to 11). Then got 1st in another TDM game again with another weapon I hadn't used.
I'm usually piss terrible, not sure what the deal was.

Which weapon?
I'm gonna try some classes that you wouldn't see at all in the battle field. G36C with thermal+shotgun[even though shotgun sucks ass]

I love the under-barrel shotgun. It's definitely better than the spas.
I love the under-barrel shotgun. It's definitely better than the spas.
It's so inconsistent though. Even in MW2, it was bad. I REALLY wish they made it have a narrower spread, and more pellets, that way it can at least compete with other attachments.

In MW2 it was fine. It had the most range out of all the shotguns, tying with the SPAS. If you took stopping power, it would one-shot people generally if you got a good shot on them.
The AK-74u sort of acts like the AK-47 (or at least it sort of did in cod4), there wasn't really a need to put it in because it would probably work too much like other smgs and such. It would basically be an AK-47 aswell I guess.
Not really. The 74u has a a faster fire rate, less range, and is more mobile (SMG movement while ADS)
Use either support killstreaks (since if you kill, you are sure to get them even if you die)
What do you mean you'll get even if you die? So I could kill someone, die, kill someone, die, kill someone, die, kill someone, die, then I'd have a uav?
Quite liking the Type 95 with rapid fire and red dot. Got myself the gold skin for it.

As much as gold camo looks badass, it can look really bad on some weapons.
Stability on Mk14 w/ Acog is like a no recoil sniper rifle. I love it.

Free for all is piss easy with the right class. Run around with a silenced SMG and Blind Eye with hardline and tonnes of low killstreaks, running around with a UAV on practically 24/7.
I personally hate higher killstreaks because I always miss out on them by like one or two kills, and in Search and Destroy it's like 6 per team. You need a teamdown to get a goddamn Airstrike.
Anyone have any mountain dew codes they wanna trade for Bf3 codes?

The UMP :v:
I've never used it before, didn't really appeal to me. I decided to try it in FFA for shits and giggles. It seems UMP45 + sleight of hand pro/assassin pro/stalker pro on FFA works wonders. Now i've equipped it with rapid fire and range.

The second game was on dome, I think my first life I got the full killstreak chain with most of them being knife kills.

That gun is basically useless without rapid fire. I mean seriously, who shoots that slow? Unless you're playing hardcore, I definitely recommend rapid fire at all times on it.
To throw my favorite gun in there, the MP7 is absolutely positively the best gun in the game. You just wait and see, people will start calling it overpowered in no time. It's not, though.
How is it "overpowered"
FAL shotgun in Hardcore in MW2... fun was had
How is it "overpowered"
Oh it's not "overpowered", I can just imagine that people will be saying that about it.
Anyone have any mountain dew codes they wanna trade for Bf3 codes?

Yeah I'll give out these codes, but before I do, does anyone have any MW3 Mountain Dew codes they'd like to trade for my Dr Pepper codes?
And before anyone says anything, yeah MW3's absolute shit, but I got it off Intkeys for $20 so I'm not exactly pissed about it. Man, if I had paid $60 for that pile of re-fried shit though, then I would be.
Nope.

Yeah totally. I can't think of any gun better than the MP7. Oh wait, yes I can.
At long range the MP7 will lose to any assault rifle, any sniper, and any LMG. At close range it can probably beat out any of those, but a shotgun will beat it.
None of the weapons in this game are really good enough to completely break out of their role as an SMG/AR/LMG/Shotgun/Sniper/whatever, with the exception of akimbo machine pistols, which can fill the roles of SMGs and some Assault Rifles pretty well.
They're easy to counter if you have some skill.
Like... What? Enough skills to fuck up your lag enough so he can't hit your hitboxes? If he sees you first with the FMGs out, youre dead with a hail of bullets. It can kill you with 2 or 3 bullets at close range and thats like a quarter of the bullets he shoots in a second.
By your logic, nobody has skill, since the only way to "counter" them is hoping he doesn't starts firing at you.
[editline]7th December 2011[/editline]
You must be MLG because most of here are having trouble with it.
I doubt "MLG super powers" would do anything at all to counter someone with FMG's. Its not like you can do anything at all to an akimbo fmg user if he sees you.
[editline]7th December 2011[/editline]
Well obviously you just suck then :downs:
Wanna have a 1on1 where I only use FMG's and you use anything BUT them?
Honestly, when I see FMG9s, I just accept my death.

What the fuck is that even? It looks like those drug mods in css that funneled your vision.
Dummkopfs Baby Arms. Reminds me of that big head guy from Megas XLR that was a HUGE head and then had little baby arms and legs stuck to it.

The best counter is to snipe
on maps where the average distance between two enemies is two and a half feet.
Steady aim doesn't help at all, unless you like the smaller crosshair. The pellets still go all over the place and I suggest using Dead Silence instead of it.
Actually it does help. I've noticed the spread of pellets getting alot tighter, but I still prefer with the normal spread (no steady aim).
Actually it does help. I've noticed the spread of pellets getting alot tighter, but I still prefer with the normal spread (no steady aim).
I tested a Model with steady aim and one without. The one with steady aim didn't have a different grouping than the other. That's what I found anyways.

That doesn't make sense. The crosshairs on your screen is the maximum spread your gun can have. It won't go outside of the crosshairs. Thus, by having smaller crosshairs, the bullet spread will be a lot tighter, hence why Steady Aim is even a perk in the first place.

Yes, but it would handle just like the 47 in the end. It was like that in blops and mw1.
And yes aswell. The difference between assault and support streaks is that the first need a few less kills for their rewards but they reset if you die (you can't die if you want to get anything), and support killstreaks take one extra kill to get, are more around support and if you die, your killstreak doesn't reset (you can die between your kills, after you get 4 kills, you still get a uav)
ugggh this new 360 update nonsense

Oh I meant to say was ADSing. Derp, that's what I tested. Not steady aim.
[editline]7th December 2011[/editline]
Anyways, with steady aim, you have tighter spread but now you have more room for error if you don't aim at the guy's mass.

Oh, well then yeah. Steady Aim doesn't effect ADS.

But does it ever reset? Or do you go chain 1, chain 2, chain 3, 1, 2, 3, etc?
