At first I thought "This looks shopped, I can tell from some of the pixels"
But then I saw the flag.

This is what those hidden images in the trailer were from.
Why the fuck is it 100$ in Australia? Can someone explain?
11.8.11 or 08.11.11? :ohdear:
Why the fuck is it 100$ in Australia? Can someone explain?
Its always been like that. Publishers sold games at that price, people bought them and now people still buy them at that price.
what amazes me is that there is no preorder discount, like there has been on pretty much every other preorder game on Steam. that's a ridiculous amount of money, especially for a preorder.
[editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
wow. I just went onto amazon to check prices for preorders on there.
Modern Warfare 3, bog standard: console: £42.97, PC: £34.91
Battlefield 3 Limited Edition: PC: £29.91
Don't get me wrong, I've played both recent titles in both the franchises, and quite frankly that's absurd price differences. Modern Warfare 3, like MW2, is just a reskinned game with a new storyline on the same engine, and in my opinion it doesn't bring much, if anything new to the table. Whereas BF3 is bringing things like the new lighting system, as well as the great details in the world around the player. I admit though that all the Origin and launch from website bullshit that's going on seriously degrades my opinion of the game already.
Both are legitimate choices for gaming, but BF3 offers more to the player in my opinion that MW3 does, and especially with the price difference, I'm more inclined than ever to get BF3.
Please don't hate on me for saying that though, cause I have enjoyed only the CoD series up until a month or two ago.
Anyone wanna wager that Modern Warfare 3 will break video game sales records again, surpassing Black Ops, or will it still do well, just not as incredible as Black Ops, or possibly even Modern Warfare 2?
Anyone wanna wager that Modern Warfare 3 will break video game sales records again, surpassing Black Ops, or will it still do well, just not as incredible as Black Ops, or possibly even Modern Warfare 2?
It will surpass Black Ops again breaking the record for biggest entertainment release.
Oh yeah, MW3 is going to sell huge. I think more people like the Modern Warfare series than Treyarch titles.
Oh yeah, MW3 is going to sell huge. I think more people like the Modern Warfare series than Treyarch titles.
Which is why it will sell extremely well. Black ops was a record breaker, this is going to be one that is impossible to break.
Thought I'd post my little "rant" on pricing here as well;
Just made this little pricing list to show everyone else in the world the prices that we get in Australia for the Call of Duty series...

So basically retail is already cheaper straight off the bat, with the exception of World at War, if you bought all the games retail you would save $90.94, and you wouldn't have to waste time downloading ~6gb of data, and you would have a physical copy.
We pay $179.99 extra due to being in Australia basically through Steam.
Granted we always pay more for games being in Australia, with the exception of the odd Steam Sale for a certain game, but why on earth are we paying so much more for a Digital copy, when we could go out and buy a copy which would have to be activated through Steam for a fraction of the price on Steam.
Food for thought really...

This gaem l00kz cool.
[sp]Nope.[/sp]
I might just borrow it from a friend, needa finish the campaign and figure out what happens. :V
Funny that, your comment seems as if cod is bad yet you're borrowing for worse part the "campaign"!
Thought I'd post my little "rant" on pricing here as well;
Would cost me €219.95 which is

And

Why do Australians have to spend so damn much on digital copies? You guys have it rough.
they based the singleplayer story around the multiplayer maps.
Yeah i don't believe that at all.
I like how when Dedicated Servers get taken away, people bitch, but when they're put back in, people still bitch.
Because the system is bad.
Yeah i don't believe that at all.
They actually were finishing the multiplayer Maps faster than campaign, and so they based some levels around the multiplayer levels, rather than the other way around like it usually is.

It was in the dev videos. The multiplayer was the first part completed and then they took some of the maps and used them for a base in the singleplayer.
Live action zombie "Moon" trailer.

I love how in that work environment, being murdered is almost not a big deal.
How did that zombies arm explode on the treadmill. Also guns dont work in space. also that guy who shot the gun should have protection on and he would be quarantined from the blood being infectious.
so many things wrong with that video but it was still entertaining.

The Zombies arm got ripped off because he couldn't keep up and it was strapped to the treadmill. I think the video was just supposed to be funny, and the Zombie map is supposed to be over-the-top, not realistic.

I'm a huge nerd so guns in space makes me a little "HNNNNNGGGG" when I see it.

Guns would probably work fine on the moon.
Guns work fine in the vacuum of space. Most conventional, modern firearms do not require oxygen in the atmosphere.

except the recoil would push you everywhere.
