MW3 is getting wrecked and trashed all over the internet
I don't know why you said compromise as only one side of the arguers have to do anything in this decision.
As for the specific to me part, how about people just don't bring other threads comments into this with the words "x doesnt deserve to be y because of z he said in a thread that isnt this one." This whole page wouldn't have happened if someone had not have brought up what I said in a different thread.
It's a compromise because you give up whining about how unfair and stupid we are, and we give up telling you how your opinion has been repeated a thousand times. We both stop doing something the other hates.
I like how you're blaming someone else for bringing it to our attention. I'm glad they did. Don't talk shit about us and it won't happen. It's pretty simple, kiddo. If we're playing the blame game, if you wouldn't have said it he wouldn't have posted it and thus this entire discussion wouldn't even be happening.
The reason he thinks you don't deserve to be y because of z is because you're being immature over the fact that we don't agree with your over-stated opinion. We're not being unreasonable, or being fanboys, we just don't want the same opinion that's been repeated over and over again shitting up the thread.
So people outside this thread think we are fanboys for liking a game? Okay.
I was in a quickscope and no-scope lobby today. It's kind of boring seeing people take whacks at each other with little to none accuracy..

I am allowed to say whatever I want. This is the internet.
Taking something from another thread just to stir up this one is pretty immature.

Why dont we just never post anything that could be offensive to anyone on the internet :downs:

Okay everyone has said what needs to be said now we can drop this silly thing.

Wow, you're an even bigger joker than I am.
Of course you can say whatever you want. You can also put your dick in a blender, but that doesn't mean you should. Freedom of speech is a nice thing that we have that shouldn't be abused. Be civil for fucks sake. Are you seriously just going to be a dick and then when cornered claim you are in the right because freedom of speech?
It's like you just absolutely refuse to not be an asshole. It's kind of crazy.

And now you have nothing left to say but "you're an asshole" Just stop.
For the record I agree that MW3 looks a lot like MW2. I don't really give a shit though because World at War looked like Call of Duty 4 and Black Ops looked like Modern Warfare 2. It looks like fun. Battlefield 3 looks like Bad Company 2 to me, and Bad Company 2 looked like Bad Company 1. Sequels look like the games before them. Get over it.

Except this is the same engine while the BF series has moved to different engines completely. But that has nothing to do with this so don't bring it up.

We explode because we get that a lot of people don't like Call of Duty. It's a personal preference and we understand that but sometimes people like to go out of there way and bash the game over and over on the things we have heard a thousand times for both Battlefield fans and more. It's okay to not like the damn game but if you constantly point out what's wrong with it (as if we don't already fucking know), we have every right to get on your ass. It's easier to just say, "Oh, well, I think MW3 is just a rehash of MW2 in my opinion. But if you guys like it, I have no right to judge," instead most people come out like so:
"HURR MW3 IS GAY AS FUCK JUST REHASHED MW2 GO BUY BATTLEFIELD 3 A REAL MANS GAME MOTHERFUCKER LOLOL"
We are sensible people here for the most part.
I like CoD. Thats the thing. I just mentioned that it was the same game as MW2 (which I also liked). I dont know why I became the example of people who came here to shitpost about it but apparently I am.
[editline]4th September 2011[/editline]
I also never said that you should buy BF3 instead. Just saying.

Because you keep saying it over and over again and talk shit about us in other threads...?
I've sent off a documented version to my software teacher. It isn't as complete as I had hoped but it'll have to do because I'll get a 0 for it if I don't hand it in today.

I'm done working on it for today, so here is the version (partially) that I promised.
I'm sorry, but this is literally one of the worst programmed games I've ever seen (trust me, I've seen a lot).
If you click on the wrong category there is no way to back out, also the X button doesn't work.
Since it's coded in game maker, there is no excuse for these errors.

posted once in the Dead Island thread and once here. Sure am posting all over about it.

I guess people are interpreting your post incorrectly? As a Call of Duty fan, I can agree with that it does look just like MW2, at least most of the aspects do but it IS the third in the series of 'Modern Warfare'. I wasn't expecting a huge change in the first place.
The only difference than I hear from MW2 to MW3 is that MW3 is going to use a new engine (IW 5.0 but Bowling refers to it as just the Modern Warfare 3 engine) which features sound improvements and better streaming scale for the bigger levels.

There are quite a few gameplay changes.
It looks like to me that MW3 is kind of like an upgrade of MW2. It's what MW2 was intended to be. They're taking everything they wanted to do and blowing it up so it's a huge part of the game.
You click connect, it connects you to the server, reserves your spot, then loads the game and map, and launches it either when its finished loading or when you want to. And it works very well, and loads the maps very fast. Much quicker than loading, say, Black Ops or BC2, navigating to the server browser, picking a server and then loading the map.
Yes you have to quit the whole game to join another server, but its still quicker than quitting a BC2 server, waiting for stats to update, then joining a new one.
Also, the first point, as if CoD "fanboys" arent doing that too?
Yea I know... Neither side is a saint.
It doesn't reserve you if its the same system as CoD or even CS. What I think it does, is give you the server list. You connect to it, launch the game, and if you have bad luck, the server might already be full by the time you get there.
Hell, BO has the server browser ingame, you get the server you want to go in with 1 slot left, you join it and in a bunch of seconds, the slot is taken from you. Doubt BF3 wont be like that, even worse when you select a server outside the game, but we'll see.
Oh man I can't wait to use the new drone-based killstreaks in the game. I would not mind walking around with the turret thing in a Juggernaut suit.

I was hoping it would at least look different. you can obviously see the difference in MW1 and MW2 but not nearly as much between MW2 and MW3. Probably because they decided to reuse most of the guns, sounds and even level parts (I saw the van from karachi explode in one of the trailers.)
[editline]4th September 2011[/editline]
I wonder if they reused assets to create a similar atmosphere or if they wanted to just be able to push the game out faster.

Oh of course. There is definitely a lot of changes and balancing that definitely makes this an upgrade.

To be fair, the length of time that the Call of Duty series is pumped out is ridiculous. Black Ops was announced quickly after Modern Warfare 2 so it's no surprise if they would rush the release.

It's a sequel, Jesus Christ. Every single sequel in the history of video gaming has reused a bunch of assets, because it's a sequel. It is meant to be similar to the last game. It does look a bit different. The guns obstruct your view less, and there are a bunch of new animations, along with every gun having a new model. Because they didn't hop to an entirely new graphical engine is not a bad thing. How do you know they're reusing most of their level parts, guns, and sounds? You're acting like you've bought the game and played it all the way through or something.

Have you heard the guns or watched any of the trailers? They are reusing a lot of content.

Showed up on reddit. Appears to be the events of MW2.
Infinity Ward/Activision apparently liked that Fan Vid so much they uploaded to their official COD youtube page.
None of that happened in MW2, Price didn't die and Shepard was against them long before they reunited with Price.

It was still cool.
Price isn't dead, they're showing how he got captured.
Have you heard the guns or watched any of the trailers? They are reusing a lot of content.
From what we've seen they're re-using content, but we haven't seen all of it nor has the game been released. A bunch of people who played at the XP event said that it wasn't a complete build of the game, and that some tweaks and bugfixes are still waiting to be done.
All I'm saying is, you can't say it's the same thing until you've actually played the complete build of the game. You haven't played it, nor have you bought it, so it's kind of unfair for you to be making calls on what kind of game it is.

And so is battlefield. Jets, Shiny HUD's, Shit storylines, destruction etc. etc.
They reuse a FUCKTON of things.

Battlefield 3 is using a bunch of guns that were in Bad Company 1. They've been re-using the same guns for years.
Battlefield has more rails than a New York subway system, I swear to god.

you just missed the whole point. Those are brand new huds, jet models and destruction physics. Yes they are the same idea but they arent the exact same thing ported over.

thats the truck from Karachi in the MW3 MP reveal.

But they arent the same model.
you all dont seem to understand. You can have the same guns and the same cars and ideas and gameplay but make new models and sounds at least.

They REMAKE a FUCKTON of things. Not DIRECTLY porting them.
