Call of Duty has smallish maps and much quicker gameplay than something like say, Battlefield. If knife took two hits to kill nobody would do it, which would skewer the weapons used even more towards SMGs and Shotguns since those are more reliable up close than the other weapon types in TTK.
Actually yeah this. I'd prefer it if COD had small maps the size of shipment and nuketown, and medium sized maps maybe the size of favela only. Big maps don't really fit in with call of duty, they just slow down the game play for me. But that's probably just me. On a side note favela is a nice map.
I quite like the variety of small and big maps.. they don't make everything that bland. I tend to be rambo and fuck shit up on maps like rust but on bigger maps I like to sneak around building for building if you know what I mean. Also one of the guys that played at CODXP said that there was one really large beautiful map with a river and bigger than all the old maps used to be. (maybe because that new engine limitation they always talk about? I am looking forward to stuff like that) I also hope that when they finish MW3 in sense of tweaking that there will be quickscoping snipers (weak ones for their stupid l33t quickscope fans) and normal snipers which are stronger but you cannot move fast and it's senseless to quickscope for them. Well also an added bulletdamage falloff for snipers would be a welcome change. [editline]7th September 2011[/editline] They seriously should implement one sniper that gets increased damage on 50m and further, just so there finally would be a real sniper sitting back beeing the wookie asshole. I would welcome that, it would scare me off going the same way.

Also from the footage it looks like the dragonuv is the piece of shit it was in black ops.
On a side note: Pat.Lithium is one of the only ones here always having fantastic posts. Thanks Lithium for always beeing so nice and neutral, you keep filling this thread with content and intelectual discussion
Incoming disagrees.
same for every series I doubt BF3 will be as good as my memories of BF2, even without all the shitty changes they made. It just won't fell the same. I doubt the really hardcore HL1 fans found HL2 to be a really captivating sequel. I doubt Halo 2 ever reached the level of popularity and epicness Halo:CE did.
Halo 1 player or not, everyone knows Halo 2 sucks balls.
Halo 1 player or not, everyone knows Halo 2 sucks balls.
Not really. It introduced vehicle jacking which is one of the best features of halo today.

YESSSS!!! So happy! [editline]7th September 2011[/editline]
I meant 'that guy' as in 'the guy playing the game'. [editline]6th September 2011[/editline] CoD4 wasn't the first Call of Duty game Hutch played, it was just the best and most progressive that ever came out. It perfected the Create A Class system, had perks, killstreaks, along with an entirely new time frame. It did what no other Call of Duty had done before it. Treyarch tried to instate a radical change to the series with Black Ops, but it won't stick. Treyarch always takes what Infinity Ward does and tweaks it into something interesting, but Infinity Ward doesn't return the favor, so it's kind of like a 'two steps forward, one step back' type deal.
Yeah i realize that, obviously he's played the previous ones, as have i, but it never really caught on to being more hardcore for me till MW2, and for him i'd assume it was CoD4 as the breakout game
Modern Warfare 3 might actually be the new CoD 4, in terms of how awesome it was.
Strongly doubt it. Even if they replicated CoD4 perfectly, people would bitch about how it's the same game as CoD4. When people want it to be the next CoD4 they want to be impressed, but I doubt that's going to happen. Gamers are hard to impress these days.
I just put a an acog on a barret and use it as a shotgun
I just put a an acog on a barret and use it as a shotgun
Funny coz after seeing someone do it at COD XP, I'm putting a scope on a SPAS-12 w/ Range Proficiency and going to snipe with it :D. Bout time shotguns have their actual range in CoD...
Maybe the gun is just weak, but doesn't look like it has that much range on it.
That's not the SPAS. The SPAS-12 has always had pretty crazy range on it.
That's not the SPAS. The SPAS-12 has always had pretty crazy range on it.
Ah, spas 12. Thought you were just speaking about shotguns in general. Anyway, the gun in the video I posted looks like the SAIGA from BFBC2. Looks like it'll be pretty fun to use. I still thank IW that shotguns are primaries again. I couldn't deal with snipers in MW2 because of secondary shotguns. Ughhh..

Speaking of which, the neostead 2000 is fucking awesome and they should have put that one in instead of the other weird shotgun they used.
USAS 12 is butt ugly. So is the FAD.
USAS actually I think. I hope I'm not the only one relieved that shotguns are back to primaries.. It takes a load out, because I won't be as afraid to confront a sniper now. Ahh mw2, we had some good times, but I still hate you with a burning passion.
That "Kill Confirmed" VO sounds like something out of a racing game with the accent and completely out of place tone of voice. I hope it's a place holder.
Alright, what are the CONFIRMED WEAPONS for the multiplayer? Because I don't want to see a shitload of cool weapons (some which I haven't even heard of) in the trailers and then poof! where did they go? I already saw the EBR once somewhere in that database posted here and it seems it wont be on multiplayer (according to the sniper rifle list to choose from ingame) Also, is mw3 on mw2's engine or BO? PLEASE let it be mw2's... BO was AWFULL. Also, the pics with the SAS have that MW1 feeling from the first mission on the cargo ship. Plain awesome. NVM:
It has been revealed that Modern Warfare 3 will use an upgraded version of the Modern Warfare 2 engine, dubbed the MW3 engine (unofficially IW 5.0)
Awesome.
M14 is in as the MK 14, on the Assault Rifle list. Check the Call of Duty wiki for the confirmed weapons list.
M14 is in as the MK 14, on the Assault Rifle list. Check the Call of Duty wiki for the confirmed weapons list.
No MP5K on the multiplayer...
Technically knifing should be split into parts like how guns hit more damage on body. Heart general area would instakill; back knifes are an instakill too(taking a knife in the back is like paralyzing your whole damn body) head knifes(from above or aimed towards head) would temporarily(or perma, doesn't matter) blind the person in half the screen depending in what eye area; and ear knives permakill your hearing until you're dead.

Like they would do that.
I wonder what weapons is going to be the "UMP45" or "Famas" of MW3.
I wonder what weapons is going to be the "UMP45" or "Famas" of MW3.
Probably the Famas
I dont like that very much. plus that would mean a lot more hitboxes for the devs to make. Like they would do that.
cod already has body specific hitboxes for bullets, can't see why they can't do it for guns. tbh, legs/arms = drop weapon/2 hit kill everywhere else, 1 hit kill.
that would be the easy part but the stabbing in certain part of the head hitboxes would be harder.
tbh if you knife the head it should be an instant kill. none have head specific hitboxes every game with knives and guns does it that way I think.
