The wiki has another theory on MW2. Since Russia was sort of falling apart or something, they bought black market weapons. Something like that. [editline]10th September 2011[/editline] Something tells me thats a sneaky criticism comment... Hm.
right you would equip frontline standard infantry units with black market weapons? lol. The OPFOR gun distribution in MW2 doesn't make sense no matter how you look at it. as for that comment trololol Also, unrelated: pssssssssh girls are so indecisive...
Only gold members have avatars now. :<
I didnt even notice that something was wrong. After half the avatars not loading for weeks I just stopped noticing it. [editline]10th September 2011[/editline] well poop

Also, how WOULD you equip your country or your faction if you had no resources left?
Only gold members have avatars now. :<
Superior race ftw... nah not really, I've only just noticed that too.
Your as original with that comment as Battlefield. Hopping on the sexist bandwagon with all the 12 year old 360 players, now that would be low.
manufacture the AK47 requires very few resources to produce, compared to the M4/M16/M249, etc with their chrome lined barrels and steel parts of various grades, and high tolerances
Wrong. The answer isn't AK47, as it is outdated. There are newer versions of the AK, but counting that out, are you sure you got enough resources and time to go into another war to make more weapons? It probably is even cheaper to buy other armament. On a game side of view, would you like to play ONLY with an AK?
Superior race ftw... nah not really, I've only just noticed that too.
Ironically, lots of gold members ARE acting superior because they have avatars :v:

You have lots of people. Not a lot of guns. Are you going to bother producing up-to-date arms? or are you just going to produce older designs to the best of your ability? The Sten arguably was a devolution of SMG design, it lacked a fire selector and was less safe than previous designs, such as the M1928 Thompson. Yet it was produced by GB during WWII out of necessity. the AK47 and it's derivative, the AKM series are not outdated designs by any standard, as AKMs with plastic furniture are issued on a regular basis to Iraqi police and security forces. It's simply the cheapest effective weapon system out there, a role that it will probably not be replaced by. Also you're totally ignoring the entire global politics side of view if 2 countries are at war, you can expect arms sanctions. Hell, even Sweden sanctioned the US during Vietnam, which is why S&W produced the Model 76 SMG. That means legitimate arms sales are off the table. The black market for arms cannot supply a regular army with the quantity of arms it might need. Period they can supply drug cartels and warlords in Africa with arms, but not an actual military force.
You actually are talking about politics in a FPS game. Ok.
As I said before, CoD is srs bsns
Oh shit I have an avatar. Ha ha yes, I knew Gold Member would pay off some day. Everyone always wanted me to go outside, but I said no, I need to post on Facepunch more, to get gold member some day! And now look at me! The weapon choice doesn't make much sense in any of the modern CoD games but I don't really give a fuck frankly. I mean as long as it isn't too crazy like Black Ops I generally don't notice very much.
New games seem so far away
New games seem so far away
It's less than two months away now, so it's not that bad. I mean there's Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3 to hold you over if you really need a shooter.
It's less than two months away now, so it's not that bad. I mean there's Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3 to hold you over if you really need a shooter.
Gears 3 is going to be sick. I hope that can hold me over until MW3 though.
You actually are talking about politics in a FPS game. Ok.
well obviously we were talking about the realism of the arms selection of a country in a FPS game arms procurement is a highly political topic often times during the cold war what guns soldiers wielded depended on whether that country's political apparatus sympathized with the US and NATO or with the SU. it's not a purely industrial topic
Why is punkbuster such a useless cunt?, bought CoD4 for £10, can't find any servers and no doubt it's PB's fault, even though I updated it.
you patched to 1.7 and everything?
well obviously we were talking about the realism of the arms selection of a country in a FPS game arms procurement is a highly political topic often times during the cold war what guns soldiers wielded depended on whether that country's political apparatus sympathized with the US and NATO or with the SU. it's not a purely industrial topic
Yes because when I go online on any CoD game, I ring up the primeminister/president and ask him what weapons we should use today... no, it's a game, polotics shouldn't be involved. [editline]10th September 2011[/editline]
you patched to 1.7 and everything?
I bought it from steam, I thought it'd update automatically.
Yes because when I go online on any CoD game, I ring up the primeminister/president and ask him what weapons we should use today... no, it's a game, polotics shouldn't be involved.
Multiplayer won't have faction specific weapons anyways, lerp, this isn't MoH 2010, BF2, or anything like that. (even still, BF2 has chinese SF running around with SCAR-Ls... did I give a fuck? no. It's multiplayer) We were talking about what the OPFOR uses in the SP and anyone who thinks MW2's SP is completely devoid of politics is an idiot.

Still it's a game and to my other question yeah the game is updated to 1.7.
Maybe it's just me but i actually enjoy the added recoil that the M4 fires with vs the ACR, some of the rounds stray upwards towards the neck and head, yay random headshots.
Still it's a game and to my other question yeah the game is updated to 1.7.
it's a game, he was trying to justify his "black market" argument, which means he was drawing analogies to real life, so I debated him with real life reasons. as for your problem, try deleting servercache.dat
Played some MW2 this morning, had fun, network problems are terrible still though. Makes me more excited for MW3's dedicated servers.
Still the same problem.
Still the same problem.
I've read of issues with steam CoD4 with PB try using the console to connect to 206.217.143.203:28960 as it's a no-PB server iirc
Dedicated server ftw... lol jokes cod4 is useless.

Dunno what I did to fix it though.
/nitpicking /trolling
nice one brah
