What do you mean about the knifing in black ops?
?
Never played MW2? There were marathon/lightweight/commando users with tac knife running around knifing everyone. Incredibly annoying to see people warp a bunch of meters to you and your dead. Treyarch said they were getting rid of the commando perk, but it seems it didn't solve much.
So I played the Black Ops free weekend thing last week. All I've gotta say is it's certainly a lot different from CoD4:

Just start watching at 3:00 (Played it at 3am so it was only like 3v3)
It felt like they tried to balance the game but failed horribly. Only one claymore and you can take less hits. I'm sticking to CoD4.
Also bloody hell, every S&D server is Hardcore or nuketown, jesus.
Also I've come to prefer SMGs over Rifles in almost any map, I just love the mobility and quick animation times for iron sighting and taking out the weapon.
Problems that MW2 had:
Commando: It was a definite annoyance, and when paired with Tactical Knife, it was a threat to anyone within 15 feet of them.
Counter: Watch your sides, especially for those who have a Tac-Knife weapon out.
Quick Scoping: Not really a threat, as it was a waste of time with your teammates, being that they won't pay attention to objectives/kills.
Counter: Just double your workload and work hard to get the job done.
The More Experience, The Better: That one is hard to get around. The only counter to this one is that you need to stop whining and try.
That's the only problems I can think of. OMA tubing wasn't as bad as Scavenger tubing, which could refill your thumper if needed.
Being killed by a quickscoper wasn't so much annoying as it was just plain embarrassing and blood curdling as you know the little gimp who killed you is some annoying kid who things hes gods gift to gaming
I usually go Silenced MP5, Bomb Squad, UAV Jammer and Dead Silence in CoD4.
I would of done that again in Black Ops, but SMGs sucked ass compared to Rifles.

Particulary when the little bastard just jumped off a building with a 360 no scope, just to get that final killcam.
Something I noticed:
In WaW's Campaign, when you get the PTRS41, if you don't scope in, Reznov will say "No Scope? Niiice!"
:v:
Can't wait to try out specialist class
Alot of asses gon get raped
Support for me
Wait, support, specialist classes? You talking about MW3?
So I've been overhauling my MW2 classes and noticed that 4 of the 7 have heavy sustainability with Scavenger. 2 of the others don't need it seeing as they are a sniper and LMG class. So what is a decent class without a silencer or scavenger preferably w/cold-blooded? Because I've got nearly every other role filled.
Or I was thinking SCAR-H w/RDS, OMA, Cold-Blooded, steady-aim/ninja, just to have the versatility to change up if needed.

Yep, i did my time in black ops, clocked around 500h...next stop mw3...
Oh... Their still using CoD 4's reload sound on the mw3 G36C assault rifle...
Even has a different reload and anything...
:sigh:
Are you fucking kidding me? It has a new animation, but it sounds the same as it did before when you reload it!
It's the same fucking gun of course it sounds the same when you reload it. How different is it supposed to sound?
[editline]11th September 2011[/editline]
For that matter who gives a shit about what a gun's reload sounds like? Like seriously I do not even pay attention to that.
Commando is no longer a problem, at least that's what RB said.
Quickscoping IS back in MW3, but you really don't see it all that much. If you do, the person is usually an amatuer at it. I've rarely seen somebody who can quickscope me multiple times in a row and kill me. Actually, I never have.
I don't get what ya mean by the third point though.
Do you have MW3?
i think he's referring to his MW2 experience right now.
i think he's referring to his MW2 experience right now.
His answer about quickscoping made me think he already had the game.
Usually people didn't take RPGs, so when a helicopter showed up, you'd either need a turret to take it down or just deal with it.
M60E3 + Bandolier + Stopping power + Steady Aim = heli-b-gone

Till today I only saw 3 actually doing it. Me (for like a round or two with medium results) and 2 other random guys who actually did it nice.
Everyone else either wasnt actually doing it and just had SoH on for speed, or sucked at it awfully bad.
Anyone fancy some call of te dead or shangri la zombies on ps3?

Pretty much everyone who played at XP can confirm Quickscoping is back. From the gameplay videos you also scope in a lot faster. I mean, Sleight of Hand pro doesn't make you look down your sights faster, but the sniper rifle scope-in is like how it was with Sleight of Hand Pro. Robert Bowling also confirmed that it was coming back.
I think it's safe to say quickscoping will be in MW3.

Well I'd expect them to do something else after like... 3 games or something. Not like it bothers me alot but... Meh
I don't know if your joking or not. Either way, apparently lots of people, since they flip shit because the guns sound like pea shooters or whatever no matter what they sound like.

Not a problem on PC.
Besides, I don't watch CoD montages on youtube anyway.

G36C has been in two games. The fact that it's had the same RELOAD sound is not even a big deal. It's not even remotely a big deal. Like, when I'm looking at the new Call of Duty, I think to myself that I hope they fix the balancing issues, and it looks like a lot of fun. I'm not analyzing every single sound every single gun makes and nitpicking. Like, it seriously feels like people are finding any reason they can to be unhappy with it.

I'm not going to play the game anymore because they use the same gun sounds.
Oh wait, I don't play call of duty for the sounds

Yeah it definitely is, there are videos on youtube of it too.

RPD/Grip or RDS, Stinger, Cold Blooded, Marathon and whatever else you choose.

G36C reload sounded unique in CoD4. It reminded me that I was using a G36C, I liked it, and I hope they don't change it.
I pay attention to reload sounds so I can reload cancel effectively, I know when exactly to cancel my AK reload because I listen for that "click" or whatever sound it makes at the right time.
Also the CoD4 AK47 is rather OP, just rapes so much face with stopping power and deep impact.

Apparently it's keeping the same sound and actually has a really unique reload animation too.
The CoD4 AK-47 was really good, and it was kind of crazy that you started off with it default.

Well, if it were for a silenced scavenger, I'd have the absolute perfect class for it, 100% discrete and deadly at just about any range if you got good ironsight aim.
If you want it that way, maybe just UMP.45 with whichever attachment you'd like and SitRep Pro or Ninja Pro.
I depend alot on Scavenger though.

I still use it. Hell, its what I use to get enough killstreaks to not fire a bullet again :v:

yeah, well it makes sense that they should give you the best/second best guns and perks at the start. That way noobs don't get their faces raped like what happens in BC2 when you don't have magnum ammo and the AN-94.
only good perk you didn't start off with in CoD4 was bandolier
only good weapons you didn't start off with were the deagle and AKs-74u. (I find it funny how the soviet weapons are the BEST in game, practically)
I depend alot on Scavenger though.
Don't do that. Scavenger and Stopping Power are like bad habits, in my opinion. You can make a much better class with, say, Sleight of Hand or Bling with Hardline or Cold Blooded. Scavenger and Stopping Power are really good, but they're crutches. If you can learn to play without them you can rack up Killstreaks and stuff a lot more effectively.
