It's funny how people complain about quickscoping in the later CoDs when they've obviously never played CoD2. Oh the quick scoping in CoD2.
Oh god, not to mention the really generous hitboxes for snipers. It was crazy.
Getting the Hardened edition because with Elite it pays for itself in DLC, and I'm interested in these prize tournaments.
Sweet save.
I've been running UAV - Harriers - Chopper Gunner lately, but I think I might go back to UAV - Care Package - Harriers. I can usually get all three in a game even if I'm doing badly, and I've been known to have godly luck with Care Packages, so I enjoy using them.
In MW3 I'll probably use Support strike package unless I have a really good class that can get a lot of kills on it's own. Like, in MW2 the UMP45 with Silencer is pretty great, so I'd probably use Specialist on that class, and then use Support on everything else.
One of the weapon specializations in MW3 is added Damage. This is basically putting in Stopping Power except instead of taking up a perk slot it takes up a proficiency slot. That kind of makes the lack of Stopping Power in the game a moot point but whatever.
The added damage proficiency is only for shotguns I believe.
These are the unique proficiency for each weapon class, as far as I know:
Assault: Breath
Shotgun: Damage
LMG: Speed
SMG: Range
I dunno what the sniper rifle one is.
Kick - Reduced recoil
Range - Increased range (SMGs only)
Attachments - Equip 2 attachments to the same weapon
Focus - Reduced flinch when shot (similiar to Hardened pro)
Melee - Faster melee (SMGs only)
Stability - Reduced sway
Impact - Great bullet penetration through walls (similar to Deep Impact)
Speed - Faster movement with weapon equipped (Similar to the perk Lightweight) (Only available on Light Machine Guns and Sniper Rifles).
Damage - Shells do more damage (Shotguns only)
Breath - Hold breath while aiming down the sights of all weapons
Am I the only who doesnt like these specific roles. I prefer it back to COD4 please. Simple and fun
Here's my favorite class. It is so much fun to hear people bitch and whine about usage of the Riot Shield/RPG
-Primary Weapon: Riot Shield
-Secondary Weapon: RPG
-Sleight of Hand Pro
-Danger Close Pro
-Last Stand Pro
Breath - Hold breath while aiming down the sights of all weapons
it seems to me that these 2 could cancel each other out.
unless they're talking about sniper sway
If you actually take a good look at the weapon/attachment/whatever list, it seems that added back pretty much most of the stuff from previous games. By most, I mean pretty much all. There are lots of CoD 4 stuff in MW3, lots of MW2 stuff, some Black Ops stuff, and to top it off, lots of new stuff. This is an entirely new game. Each weapon has new models, and I can hope, new sounds. New maps, new killstreaks, attachments, and profeciences makes an appearance here. How come people say it's a rehash of MW2, which it's a rehash of CoD 4, MW2, and black ops? In the GOOD way. Adding back weapons people like and shit like that, along with new stuff. I'd love to know what DLC would give you all of this stuff.

It's because there are still a lot of re used art assests and the campagin brings nothing new.
It's because there are still a lot of re used art assests and the campagin brings nothing new.
You can't say the campaign brings nothing new when you haven't played it yet.

Brown filter, text at the bottom, press a number to get a certain gun, laser sights, and more.
I don't see why the game is programmed to allow the host to make such changes on your end.
Its because on consoles you arent supposed to be able to access core game files. So they didnt bother protecting any of that.
You can't say the campaign brings nothing new when you haven't played it yet.
Well I'm just going by what we've seen so far.

Another thing I dislike. DId you play the campaign till the very end? Did you get into some secret beta? Did something get leaked that I missed? No. Then how do you know the campaign brings nothing new? Obviously it does. It's an entirely new campaign with different missions in different settings.

We haven't seen much campaign gameplay, and the one we have seen is a battle in new york city. I'm PRETTY sure that's new..

got to agree with him on this one
MW3 is part of a formula that doesn't change much. It's the same CoD, they take a bit from MW2, a bit from CoD4, a bit from Black Ops. That's not a bad thing, I think they're tweaking the formula to make a more fun and balanced game that sticks with the core run-n-gun, get killstreaks, and ADS gameplay.
But the campaigns have always been a weak point. I don't see Activision or IW putting much emphasis on the SP, so they probably didn't spend that much time on it. Sure they released a trailer with it, but all the media coming out recently has been MP, MP, MP.

Uh, they released four single player trailers along with playing through two of the levels. They did a Single Player reveal, a Spec Ops reveal, and most recently they've done the Multiplayer reveal. They've been giving a lot of attention to each individual section. In fact, the only reason we've seen so much MP lately is because of people recording multiplayer gameplay and putting it on youtube. Infinity Ward themselves haven't shown a whole lot of legitimate Multiplayer gameplay, really.

I don't know what to think of it, besides the fact that this guy must be seriously dumb, because he wants to send all of the people who like mw3 to space to test out an extremely hazardous environment. That makes zero sense, considering the reasoning behind it is ridiculous.

Just someone on the CoD hate bandwagon. Don't let it get to you.

Spec Ops =/= campaign really, it seems more of a "nazi-zombies" type thing now with upgrades and weapon purchases, as opposed to Spec-Ops in MW2.

What? When did I say they were the same thing? They've shown to complete levels of Single Player along with having four trailers for it, and then they've shown a level of Spec Ops and a trailer for that. Two different reveals.
what I don't like so far is the gun perk Range for SMGs. Increasing range pretty much increases damage in a nutshell, and the ump40 already looks on par with assault rifles even without it.
what I don't like so far is the gun perk Range for SMGs. Increasing range pretty much increases damage in a nutshell, and the ump40 already looks on par with assault rifles even without it.
Would agree if it's a perk, but since all the proficiencies make your gun better, I'd say the others would be just as useful, canceling out that range advantage.
[editline]13th September 2011[/editline]
Besides the reduced recoil one would probably be more useful on smgs.
First game in literally 8 month (i counted ) on MW2, got a nuke on (imo) the worst map and the hardest map - Estate.

I almost got a nuke once in that map. One of the most exciting games I ever had.
Then... I died...
FUCK YOU SNIPER WITH A PP2K, FUCK YOUUU!
i've been trying for ages for a nuke
i has nothing to show for it...except running out of time at 20 kills TDM Afghan...
Funny, that was the only map where I got a nuke without boosting.
Famas/m1014 did the trick. The guys either had huge lag or were really bad players. Killed 1 or 2 at long range, and then the rest until a harrier with the shotgun. They just kept coming, being turned into mush.
Then called a harrier that got me to like 12 kills, chopper got me to 30 something, and then kaboom.
I'm thinking these proficiencies are going to be less than useful, noticeable, yes, game changing, not quite...

Range only decreases damage falloff, and it's basically neccessary coz I dunno what footage you've seen but SMGs w/o that Proficiency have like the worst damage in the game at long range. o_o
5 longshots with the PP2000 FMJ Red-Dot :v:
2 from across HighRise, the other 3 on Wasteland.
Lovin' it

so you're saying every gun has to be effective at every range? wut
SMGs are *supposed* to be short and medium only.
thought this was somewhat fitting to the strawberry jelly we're accustomed to is finally going away to just a red tinted screen instead, a welcome change.

I thought CoD4's was best. The alternate "damage" sprite was one of the things I immediately took a dislike to in MW2, because it just looked so "fake".
Does anyone know if it is possible to do so MW2 detects voice input automatically so i don't have to hold down my Z button all the time when i talk?
if there's no in-game option it wouldn't be too hard to set up a voice-activate button script in auto-hotkey if you could find how it deals with sound input.
