I never understood competitive CoD. Its such an easy game. CS, sure. You need to squint your eyes to aim with the crosshair and have cyborg like reflexes to play in leagues and shit. In CoD, you need the right set of perks, press m2 and then m1.
I sort of get promod cod (no perk selection, no sniper sway) but yeah never really got competitive vanilla
I decided to get 10 kills on gungame and then knife the rest of the way. 1 death, everyone sent me messages like "LEARN TO PLAY FAGGOT, ITS GUUUUUUNGAME"
The newer CoD games (CoD4 and up) need to be fairly intensively modified to be competitive. IIRC the only CAL season CoD4 had removed all of the perks and some of the weapons (P90 being the big one my friend who played matches mentioned).
I've only called in 1 chopper gunner ever. But I've used attack dogs more since it gives the chance of the other team actually defeating the dogs.

What's wrong with those?

It might be comparatively easier than other games in the genre, but it's not so easy as to not require skill or have a very obvious skill differential.

That being said, you can't get absolutely fucking rolled in a 1v1 like you can in CS, I'd probably get a fair amount of kills on him too.
yup, I can't see really good skill in that video it just seems like what I do every day with the AK in pubs
Go join a tourney then.

I remember when that was posted and this thread considered it one of the best because it had relatively low editing and really cool effects. Talk about change.
Go join a tourney then.
don't have time to practice plus promod bores me
The worst part about that video is the dudes at the bottom corner giving you that vacant look with dead eyes. They have killed so many people.
don't have time to practice plus promod bores me
Why practice if you do it every day in pubs? :v:
Why practice if you do it every day in pubs? :v:
I play vanilla pubs, plus practice consists of playing against other competitive players in mix matches or "wars" (in promod) shit gets boring at times plus I can't play competitive FPS with my mouse from before 2000 (it came with a USB/PS2 converter if that tells you how old it is) it's all yellow and shit.

I know competitive is boring and lots of work to get good at, for only the reward of feeling good that you're good at video games. I'd rather put in tons of work in my job and gets lots to money than video games :v: Though, you made it seem like the person in the video was terrible and you can clearly do better. I probably mis-comprehended..

Gonna complain about this again. People keep saying how mw3 is going to be exactly like MW2. It looks like MW2. That's a good thing. It [looks like it will]play[s] like CoD 4. That's a good thing. It has lots of variety like black ops does. That's a good thing. It has lots of detail on the maps, like World at War does. Good thing Somehow, people flip a game that has the best features of the other games combined into one, into a bad thing? It STILL doesn't make sense to me. I mean, I don't see anything wrong with MW3. At all. In fact, I would consider this the perfect cod game and it seems like IW REALLY listened to the community this time. People loved the way cod4 played. People loved the way mw2 looked, people loved the variety in blops, and people loved the maps in waw. BAM. All put into one game, PLUS MORE! More of everything! Maps, weapons, killstreaks, perks, campaign, new gamemodes, survival, and the highest level cap out of all the series: level 80. They say it's a DLC. Once again, tell me which DLC gives you all that? I'd buy it even if it was a DLC. Everybody who insults it, I guarantee half of them will buy it, play it, secretly like it, and STILL be arrogant and insult it. Not to be a cod fanboy here, but I don't understand the unnecessary hate on CoD here. Especially on a game that looks like it'll be perfect.

MW2 was a big disappointment to most people, and Activision has done some shitty things, so everyone just rags on CoD even if the games are good because they don't like the franchise or the publisher.

MW2 didn't look good at all (relatively). W@W had great atmospherics in the SP, can't really the same of the MP maps.
To be honest Call of Duty isn't even that milked. Sure it's on the 9th or so game, but Battlefield has had just as many if not more. Battlefield also has an online game where you pay real money for weapons. The Halo franchise has quite a few games, along with a movie, comic books, novels, and toys. Call of Duty does not have any of these things. Call of Duty isn't really a milked franchise, it's just a popular and long-running one.

It was small but it still counts since it wasn't an expansion of anything. 7 to 7 Halo has several series of action figures along with vehicle sets and giant busts, whereas Call of Duty has a hand full of 'action figures' and some stuff that comes with expanded editions of the game (You can't get it anywhere else but with the game so I would hardly call it merch) isn't really comparable. Also, like I said, Halo has a movie and graphic novels and novels, which you failed to address. So the Halo comparison is perfectly accurate.

The idea that we should flame Call of Duty because it looks the same every release, especially from Battlefield fans is ridiculous. I like Battlefield because every game has been the same large team, objective based, vehicle heavy, class-intensive experience with new maps, weapons, and vehicles to play with every release. I like CoD because every game has been a fast paced, death match, arcade style FPS with action-movie style plot lines and ridiculous multiplayer options like dual-wielding shotguns or calling in an AC-130. I sincerely hope that CoD is the same release after release because it offers me a great experience every time it comes out, same with Battlefield, and same with the other half-dozen franchises whos sequels I am eagerly anticipating this year.

That's like saying Chess is a one person game because you can play against the computer in computerized versions. Playing against a computerized player is playing with other players, you are just the only legitimate human player. Playing with Bots isn't playing alone, it's playing with fucking bots. Also you're right, it never was released for PC. I heard they were planning on releasing a PC version and it just fell through I guess. You're right if a franchise doesn't have toys/books/movies it is merch free! T-Shirts and hats and controllers and microphones and such don't even exist!
