All you do in Mass Effect is run down corridors shooting people, and then going into dialogue where you have a good guy choice, a bad guy choice, or a neutral choice. Repetitive.
All you do in Battlefield is run around and capture flags/blow up MCOM stations and shoot people. Repetitive.
All you do in Half Life is run around and shoot aliens/combine and solve puzzles. Repetitive.
Every game is repetitive. They all have a gameplay style and they follow it. Call of Duty is an arcade shooter, and it's a damn good one. I still play MW2 to this day and it's almost been two years since it came out. Hell, people still play Call of Duty 4 and it's been like four years since that came out. Obviously it isn't a repetitive/terrible game, otherwise people wouldn't play it anymore.
Except those are actually decent games where MW is the same fucking shit with every release and the only things being different are the kill streaks. Lol
Obviously it isn't a repetitive/terrible game, otherwise people wouldn't play it anymore.
Actually, CoD is exceptionally repetitive. People do play repetitive games though, such as most MMOs (events pretty much always play out the same, even across different characters) and racing games. Your examples aren't exactly repetitive, the game can be quite different in most cases, but almost all multi-player games are repetitive because there is only so much a game can do.
Even the Left 4 Dead series, which touts the AI Director, is repetitive as all sin.
Apparently MW3 and Battlefield 3 got leaked due to stupid game shops as far as I heard.
[editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
MW3 only for Consoles, due to steamworks on PC.

Stupid ass game shops.

I don't like getting involved in arguments anymore, but HOLY FUCK you are stupid. What about guns, maps, characters, dialogue, campaign, new game modes, graphics? Those are all the same? So MW3 will be MW3 with new killstreaks is what you're saying? CoD games actually have a LOT of new content each game, especially in WaW where almost NONE of the weapons were the same from any previous game, and from any future games. That was revolutionary because it was completely new. Everything was, NOTHING was re-hashed.
Does anyone who preordered MW3 have an extra copy of Modern Warfare? I have no call of duty games on steam and I've been itching to play one, that'd be great!
Sadly I have nothing to offer in return other than my humble appreciation.
Why don't you buy it

Same with blops. It used very few guns from previous games, and used a shitload of guns hardly seen in video games at all.
Why don't you buy it
because like most of us, he likes free stuff
not like its a great excuse but free stuff that is nice is always better than the same stuff that costs stuff
[editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
also is anybody else having problems with chrome and the rating system?
Why don't you buy it
Because no matter how much I want to play it, I don't think it's worth the price now that MW3 is so close. Plus I figured I'd give it a try if there was an extra copy floating around somewhere.

Definitely not worth the price.
I'd wait. Once MW3 comes out they might have some kind of Call of Duty sale on Steam, or soon after. Barring that, Christmas sales will probably net CoD4 or MW2 in there somewhere.
I'm playing through MW2 on veteran, on Wolverines! and so im gonna try to finish that, then go out and rent CoD4, and beat it on Vet, and hopefully that'll keep me satiated (along with BF3) for MW3, which i'll go campaign on Hardened first time through, then a little survival, then multiplayer, then after the first prestige go back to vet, MP again, then achievement whore it up.
I R am is set till Christmas
Well, MW3 is 35$ on IntKeys.
Well, MW3 is 35$ on IntKeys.
Is IntKeys secure? I'm just wondering, because if MW3 is on it, I'll probably be getting it from there, along with Skyrim.
I remember that last year almost everyone praised Black Ops and nowadays it's opposite. What has changed?
I remember that last year almost everyone praised Black Ops and nowadays it's opposite. What has changed?
I have no idea. I love Black Ops and think it's an improvement over MW2 in every way.
Blops used the same goddamn engine used in CoD4, are you serious? It's built off of a modified WaW engine, which is in itself a modified CoD4 engine. The graphics are almost identical to how they were in that, just upgraded. The reason you have to run it on medium is being it's poorly optimized for the PC.
MW3 is using a modified version of the MW2 engine, which itself is a modified version of the CoD4 engine. They're both using almost the same exact engine, it just looks a little different.
I get that some people don't like Black Ops, but don't act like it's using some kind of inferior engine that MW3 will have head and shoulders above. All of the Call of Duty games these days just use modified versions of the CoD4 engine. The reason it looked like ass is because you had been maxing the games and then you had to play Blops on medium. That doesn't mean it was an inferior engine, or that MW3 will be better, it means it was a shitty PC port.
So, basically, its not the same engine.
Cod4's engine with some modifications -> WaW
WaW's engine with modificatios -> BO
Thats a bit off from cod4's engine.
MW1 is using IW3, WaW is basically using 3.1, Bo uses like... 3.5? Its a rough estimate, not a real thing. Anyway, Treyarch use IW3.0 because their familiar with it.
MW2 uses IW4, and MW3 apparently uses IW5 (unofficially) since its an upgraded version of IW4.
Whats 's exactly the difference? Certain things still didn't look better then MW1 and it runs like ass. MW2 actually does much better both in performance and in quality compared to Bo, enginewise.
In my view, MW3's engine will run better then BO by a long shot, and also look better, which, imo, is a big win.
It was a shitty port. Oh well. Doesn't means its a bad game. Except it being a shitty port sort of blew it big time for me.
I'd congratulate someone using the FAL if this is MW2, it's fucking hell to fight people in close quarters with compared to almost every other weapon, and takes some aiming to use. I don't know about the Black Ops guns at all, or if there is even a FAL :v:
Basicaly, in MW2, if you have good trigger fingers, youre a god with the FAL. Just don't use the RDS or the ironsights. Use the Holo for a stat glitch with extra dmg boost at bigger ranges and better aim.
In BO, I actually do better with it then with an AUG. Its a pretty good weapon, with open sights.

Don't get me started on L4D. Waste of money. I got bored with it in a week, with both games.
The AI is extremely repetitive, as the same unique infected might appear in the same exact places, and anyway, its just boring.

Still up for nazi zombies if anyone wants to do it
[editline]17th October 2011[/editline]
BO Zombies. I have all the map packs minus escalation
L4D is amazing with friends, shush. Sure pubbing is repetitive and boring, but playing with friend is :DDD. especially the custom maps.

How so?
FUCKING PREDATOR MISSILES!
Any time anyone on the other team gets a pred, it always goes for me. I'm not fucking kidding. Every fucking time. Not once have I seen a pred go for anyone else. Not only that, they always seem to kill me when I'm clearly not anywhere near them. I was just playing some TDM on Skidrow, and I saw the pred circle appear on the minimap. Knowing that I was to be the victim(like always), I ran for that tunnel on the side of the map. The pred hit by the entrance to one side of the tunnel, and I was on the COMPLETE opposite side....I died. It's a long tunnel, there's no fucking way that it could hit me that far away.
But when I get predators they never hit, even if it practically lands on the guys head.
This game fucking hates me.
I think you just suck with preds bro

You still didn't answer my question. I asked how it 'looked different' than the other games. It was running on the same exact engine, just slightly modified.
I know its the most famous and recognized one. But the thing is, wheres your proof, it seems a bit random that someone knows what the most issued acog is, but doesnt know what its called
[editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
You said that the red chevron w BDC is "how the ACOG works"
I said that there are different ones.
Are you seriously arguing about this?
"The TA31RCO has 4x magnification, no iron sights, and uses a red chevron reticle which automatically adjusts to the ambient light conditions and has a bullet drop compensator that allows engagements at up to 800 m (2,600 ft)."
"The United States Army fielded the TA31RCO variant of the ACOG which is designated as the M150 RCO."
"The United States Army and Marine Corps both field the TA31RCO for the M4 and M16A4, designated the M150 in Army service."
From the Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Combat_Optical_Gunsight
I think it's safe to say that the red chevron style ACOG is therefore the most commonly fielded one, since the United Kingdom and the United States are the only playable factions that use the ACOG, and the United Kingdom probably uses the same one the US does (the article doesn't specify but it's probably not much of a longshot).

Sorry I didn't know what the model was called off the top of my head bro
Played blopz on PC for the first time (since I can actually run it now) and it's surprisingly fun. I'm SO over console cod now. That said, I still got fucking bored within 30 minutes. Cod just bores me now.. but THAT said I like the idea of a re-hashed MW3 with cool new stuff and tweaks.. MW2 could have been the dogs bollocks had it not had so many frustrating features.

I think this might've been my major problem with BLOPS. We were told everything was going to balanced and everyone cheered. But that resulted in a lot of guns being essentially identical, and IMO, the game not very fun.
