Is it possible to add additional entities? Cause I got plenty of ideas.

Also, I've downloaded every SP map in this thread. Going to play them all! DON'T LET ME DOWN, FACEPUNCH.
Totally late, but uh... yeah, there is an entire website dedicated to Portal 2 mapping already. They even have an awesome wiki for map making (balls to me, but I bet it's great for you guys) and plenty of amazing concept maps with unique features (the one with the cube that shoots gel? Awesome!) Thank you lovely people in the thread for showing me this; however, I feel I have to point this out.
It's currently 4:20 AM. I have just shit my pants. If you don't download this map and play it right now, you have no soul. Seriously, do NOT give up. It's hard, but short, and the ending is totally worth it.
How can I create a spotlight that changes colour every 5 seconds?
How can I create a spotlight that changes colour every 5 seconds?
By creaing all the different coloured spotlights and make hem switch every 5 seconds.
I redesigned the puzzle and added a start and end elevator to my puzzle. Also, I added indicator lights from the button to the door.

A lot better, though the only thing you need to do now that I forgot to mention before is to add in the recessive lights, you're using lamps at the moment and they don't fit in at all.
Also another question. How could I make a lightbridge go on and off, on and off, on off on off forever?
Also another question. How could I make a lightbridge go on and off, on and off, on off on off forever?
Depends if you want it to be a steady on-off or it to flash randomly.
Depends if you want it to be a steady on-off or it to flash randomly.
I want it like on-off every 3 seconds

Have two relays triggering each other every 3 seconds to turn it on and off, there probably an easier way but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Do I use OnTrigger or OnSpawn?
[editline]2nd June 2011[/editline]
I noticed that logic_timer is easier. I'll try that.

Can't get it working :saddowns:
I've been non-stop mapping since I made my first ever map last night. Now, I got the Space core spawned, it looks around and stuff. But I want it to have the same behavior as it did in the boss battle.
Would anyone know how?
How do you guys do if you want a pipe up through the roof and make it look sexy? I mean, a square-carve is not very sexy. Is there an instance or map like the chamber door where I can copy?

There are loads of circular holes that you can use.

I've managed to get him to do his crazy look around by decompiling the finale map (I am a horrible person I know), however he still does't speak. :saddowns:

Just look for the instances and copy over the brushes

Yes it's the motherfucking party escort you've been waiting for your whole life.
Now if you want to check it add me on steam and we'll play the map.

Yeah I noticed the textures aren't well aligned, I copy&pasted it from my other map and forgot to align them later.

Yeah no idea. Maybe it's a leftover and was replaced by that big screen in the hub

Yeah, I put it like that because I'm not exactly the best at fitting in lights. Sorry about that.
Also, I've got a tech demo of gel cubes and a light cube.

You'll get a lot more feedback and downloads if you submit these maps to my Aperture Labs or the like.

Gel cubes? Like:

I got the shooting part working, but I could never drop the cube properly. :/

It's basically a reflector cube model with a gel shooter at the end. When you pick it up, it starts shooting and when you put it down, it stops.
On another map I played on, it was a Companion Cube with 5 Buttons on it. Three of the buttons shot gels. One of the buttons shot water. The last turned it off. It was a mistake to use the companion cube though. It should use the reflector cube model. It should also be immune to the effects of the repulsion gel but maybe that's just me bitching.
Has anyone gotten Co-op Info Boards to work? Like Custom ones? I've headed the coop_lightboard_icons.txt but I'm still getting 00 on the board.
not aware of anyone who has, i've hunted through pretty much everything in the vscripts but it looks like the vgui stuff is all handled in the actual code so we can't so much

Here's an idea... remember the light emitting cube someone made?
Mirrors and solar panels. Boom, new puzzle element. I am a fucking genius. If only I could map, I'd test that shit.

Maybe with a trigger coming from the light cube, and when it touches a mirror, it tells a light on the mirror to start and a trigger on it to enable. When that trigger or the cube's trigger touches a solar panel, it tells a door to open.
Just how I'd think of doing it.
And then what if the mirror goes right into a wall? Boom, you gotta use a portal to put in a hole to the next mirror. And then we could even use the laser redirection cubes as prisms and split light into Red Green and Blue lights that have to go to special Red Green and Blue receptacles. BAM!
