Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but has anyone got any watery surfaces to work? Every time I try using the "goo" texture or any water texture, the top surface doesn't appear, but you can still jump in it and swim around.

Does anyone know how you get triggers to use filters in instances?
I'm trying to get my instanced triggers to respond only to cubes from the cubedropper instances.
I've tried the following:

[*]Passing the name of a filter to a param in an instance (trigger has "$filter" in "Filter Name")
[*]Creating a filter in the instance and passing it the name of an object as a param (filter has "$nameToFilterBy" in "Filter Name")

Neither way works for me.

Actually, it looks like they're getting some light from a very dim or distance source in the 3rd shot.
Has placing a light right infront of them helped?

It was quite nice, I liked it. Pretty nice look on how to use boxes and move them around while you depend on them.
One visual thing though, the fizzler textures are a bit off (unless you're supposed to have a line in the middle?)
EDIT: Two thing actually, the blue/orange circles overlays on the ground are massive... both of these thing are in that one screenshot...

I already compiled a [url=http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11217331/Releases/Portal%202/sp_clav1_entry01.zip]new version[/url] with several texture tweaks and a small change in geometry (I moved the door on the left in the screenshot 16 units back because you could back-paddle into the door while grabbing the cube from the button).

Its easy. If you gonna use p2 music - just make ambient_generic with choosed song activated by trigger or use some soundscapes. If it is custom - you need to pack it to bsp to make it works

I got this idea for a series of test chambers made by a schizophrenic core(with two voices at once, even) that would constantly change the map while you were in it, tear maps up, flip them upside down, etc, but then I realized how freaking impossible that would be to implement, especially for a first-time mapper. During the summer I'm going to try a few things out. I really like the way world portals work and would love to make a map using them.
Hammer won't display textures for me, how do I fix that?

Make sure your map is saved in the portal2/sdk_content/maps/ folder, because the instance paths are relative. Hammer gets confused if your work in a different directory.
