guild wars and natural selection had a competitive scene?
guild wars exists almost purely for it's competitive pvp, i don't think it really has a scene for itself anymore though
natural selection was almost as big as CS in 2003-04, so yes it did
I only lost 1 game today out of about 7! Played a lot of Faceless Void. :))

Had 2 other games, 1 I did a lot better in and the other I was 10-5 or something because I had shitty early game...
Played a game as Anti-Mage yesterday. First 5 minutes 2 people dropped on my team so it was 3v5. I went 28/1/18 with two divines and we still lost. It was a sad game

I'm starting to be 50/50 so whenever I win one, I lose one. The thing is, when I lose one, it's always because my team sucks or the other team is complete baws mode. Whenever I win, it doesn't even feel like a close game. It always feels like they were doing terrible and I didn't even have to try to win.

Don't matter. It took me atleast 30 games before I became good with him. Just keep training and your moment will come.
All you guys got a key for just answering the pool?

I got a key via trading. :v:
Hmm. I'm trying to decide what item to get first on invoker...Eul's Scepter, Aghanim's, or Hex Stick. Eul's is cheap and makes me me move even faster + gives me a form of CC + mana regen and is the cheapest of the 3..
Aghanim's makes me able to spam my spells even faster and not have to worry about it + gives me a ton of stats. (I will usually make aghanims sometime during the game since it's just so nice but I'm wondering if I should rush it after Phase boots + wand (+bottle if needed).)
Hex Stick gives me a hex + 10 in every stat (Even more in intel) + some nice regen.
what do you guys think is the best option to make first on a max out Wex build?
(I personally think Hex Stick then Aghanims then Euls (maybe shiva's or something else instead of eul's depending on how game is going))
How can you be bad at Skeleton King.
No really, he's a pretty easy hero. A 2-sec stun, an improved Vlad's passive Skill and a passive skill that allows up to a 275% bonus damage on a critical hit. NOT TO MENTION HIS FREE (at level 16) EXTRA LIFE EVERY 60 seconds.
Throw an Armlet and a Heart on him, bam, 3.6k HP before level 20.
Hnng wish I could play
Any tips on how to be a good drow ranger?
Yo yo I can give you some help:
-Drow, despite being a very strong carry late game, starts out extremely weak. Early game, you need to be cautious with her. Therefore, focus on building her nuke (frost arrows), then stats, simultaneously until you hit your ult on level 6. Giving attribute bonus, in my experience, can mean life or death when the enemy team attempts to gank you early game.
-Since Drow is a carry, your focus early in the game should be farming (and a bit of denying, as Drow is range). Practice getting good last hits when you're laning.
-Try to play mid if possible. You'll level up much faster, which will give Drow a leg up during ganks and allows you to hit your late game stage - where Drow is very powerful - much faster.
-Your basic strategy for Drow is simple: kite your enemy with your nuke. You'll want to do this by orbwalking, which is basically using your hotkey to fire your nuke, walk towards the enemy hero after the animation, fire, repeat. Use silence if necessary to prevent an enemy from getting away or making a stand, but this shouldn't disrupt your kiting.
-Make sure to acquire shadow blade after power treads. Shadow Blade is VERY important for a few reasons: 1.) It's an excellent escape tool when used correctly, 2.) Breaking its invisibility gives you an attack bonus on hit, which can help bring down powerful heroes, 3.) using it gives you a slight movement speed boost, which can help you initiate a gank a bit faster or get away from one.
-Silence is also a very good skill to use before a gank, or during teamfights. It has a lot of uses, but don't rely on it too hard when ganking. Until you level it up, it only lasts for a short period of time and the cooldown makes it an ability not worth spamming. It's used best as a strategic measure, not a last minute cast onto an enemy (i.e. break out of invisbility with nuke, silence pudge to start a team gank). It's best if you're facing a hero who is very weak but strong with his/her abilities, as you can end their ability to cast temporarily and pummel them.

If you don't feed him though, like any carry, you fuck yourself over.

I can't imagine life without dota 2 anymore.
[editline]21st January 2012[/editline]
150 hours that should have gone into starcraft 2.
I got 1 kill and huskar made it impossible to farm
Ooh, yeah, Huskar. You're best bet is to try and gang up on him. His Berserker's Rage can only help him so far. Of course, if you tank against him, should be an easy kill as long as he doesn't Life Break your ass...
Other than that, get your last hits, farm up some gold, get Treads, then Armlet. Work from there.
how is that you have the same binds for both abilities and items? D:
Items are probably ALT+Letter. That's how I've got it.
[editline]21st January 2012[/editline]
It just doesn't say "ALT+Q" on that because it'd take up too much room.
how is that you have the same binds for both abilities and items? D:
alt+qweasd
What.
I finally get a key from the playdota key draw, and its already been used.
Great.
I think you should let them know, especially since its supposed to work.

Not my best round, but I love when I play with a good team and get my item build the way I want it.

I just now noticed the Beastmaster
Actually, just looked into it more, someone literally hacked my account and used the key, then proceeded to delete the private message, I only found out about it when I looked in my email inbox...
Seems like some people are really desperate for a key.

Maybe they shouldn't announce who won then.

Tiny is definitely going to push mid now.
I don't seem to be getting the leaver penalty anymore. Did I miss a patch that added something like that or something?
Maybe they shouldn't announce who won then.
yeah, because along with this hacking, about 5 people sent me a pm asking me for the key...
I don't seem to be getting the leaver penalty anymore. Did I miss a patch that added something like that or something?
Come to think of it, I don't remember me getting it my last abandon...
