Dota 2 - Newbies, read the OP. Veterans, play Anti-Mage. - Games

My Win/Lose ratio as Invoker is 100% Win. I knew finishing Magicka was going to help me sometimes.

Anyone know at what rate Valve is sending invites? I've got friends that still haven't received a key and have been signed up for it since August/September. Got mine Dec. 15th back when they sent out a ton of single invites w/ no guest passes included, but since then I haven't heard much about it.

So, I'm introducing a buddy to Dota 2, his first ARTS game. Any advice on where I should point him and how I should teach him the ropes?

So what do you guys think about having an option to turn off cosmetics when the Dota 2 store(like in TF2) is working? (Cosmetics may be able to alter gameplay a little bit) And having like a spectator only version of Dota 2 for free if Dota 2 has a price. Sort of like a demo, except you cannot actually play. I played my first pub where my whole team knew what we were doing and we all made a plan before we picked heroes. I only had one friend in that team too. The entire opposing team literally auto-locked their heroes within the first 3 seconds, and were completely unorganized. Felt good to finally win after so many loses.

I like playing broodmother, but everytime I play her, I get terrible teammates who always blame me for being terrible even though they do nothing the whole game (AKA they have full health and i bkb+ulti and expect me to 1v5 while they sit right there watching)

Triple kill with pugna, his Q is pretty cool.

Played a game earlier where we found ursa and skeleton king doing level 1 rosh. We killed them then claimed rosh for ourselves because it was about 20% hp. Then later in the game dark seer pulled them all into one spot with his vacuum and I used my venomancer ult while they were attempting to get it around 20-30 minutes in. They kill it still but we steal the Aegis again. We essentially stole 1 roshan kill + 2 aegis'. Was amazing.

After only randoming for a week I finally picked a hero that might help the team. Weaver > Mid because no one else wanted it > carried.

Never met a player so rude. I asked kindly for my team to rune control and this broodmother just litterally insulted me and then told me to shut up. He then went on about how I'd feed the sniper I was laning against, which I ended up killing several times. But when it came to ganking he just sat there and did nothing, no pulling whatso ever, allowing their tank to free farm. Turned the game into a massive struggle, its a good thing Sven got fed as well, otherwise the game would of turned against me at late game with those gems and wards.
