Not bad, but a shame that we lost. Anyone know a good item build for Clinkz?
Gather round children and i shall tell ye a story of the rise of a not exactly great hero but a hero nonetheless.
Just over a week ago a Dota 2 noob... NAY in fact and ARTS noob decided that he was going to learn to play and infamously difficult hero...
Kael the Invoker.
Bear in mind this person wasn't good at DOTA2, he kept right clicking the minimap by accident, losing where his hero was in a teamfight and following people that bit too far in an attempt to gank them.
He had a total of 32 hours in Dota 2 which means 32 hours in any arts ever (and half that time was vs bots). This did not deter him, for he knew he was bad, he knew people would hate on him and he knew people would shout and swear and and shout at him. Heck this was an ARTS, he knew people were normally overly angry, head up own backside on pedestal of own shit types.
His first round when as good as you may expect.

Ignoring al the resulting backlash of OMFG N00B! GTFO, L2P etc... he joined more games, reserched gudes (and was not surpirsed that there weren't many about the new invoker who was actually a bit different from the old one.)
So he realised the only way he was going to get good was to play again and again and again. He was on his own, with nothing but his wits and cunning to get him through.
And play more he did.
There were ups

and downs

But even in his darkest hours he kept trying and trying and trying. He would never quit and never give up. If the enemy dominated him, he would get back up and keep going. If his team-mates abandoned the game, he would stay and keep fighting.
And in the end, his perseverance would eventually pay off.

(Radiant victory in case you didn't know.)
So O think that faux dramatic short story captures my progression from shit to good via invoker.
I Finally feel like less of a third wheel and now I can play Dota properly.

His original name was Kael, but in some of the translated versions of Dota they released, it was mis-translated as Carl.
And then for Dota 2 they changed his name to Garral.
He actually does say Carl in the sound clips, though.
CONGRATULATIONS!
YOU HAVE BEEN INVITED TO PLAY DOTA 2
goddamn
Can anyone give me some Spirit Breaker tips? I found him to be really fun. That combo with N'aix is awesome.

So how do I play games that don't have instalock feeding pudges?
instalock pudge first
I never imagined this game to be so hard. How can I still be level 8 while other people are almost level 20?
:suicide:

And get countered by silencer that drains your mana entirely. Happened to me in my last game.
Gonna get back to Starcraft and practice more micro. Thinking about picking up Chen.
