Mostly pics I've got are WIP's but I'll go ahead and post some. I only ever take pics of WIP stuff, and then when i get bored of painting or finish, i normally end up stripping them because i want to do them over lol.

Those two base plates you made look ace, ork looks pretty basic but it's not finished either so what can you do. That Iron Snakes sergeant is looking really good, nice job!
The first base (first 2 pics) was done with....matchsticks, and sand. same with the Tau Drone one.
They're all stripped and/or thrown away now though. Also with the ork, only really the skin and metal parts were done.
Welp I found out the GW website does orders to Egypt, that's splendid news for me.
You should get some paper (white) and make a half box around them, get some light from behind (preferably just slightly overhead) and have a thin fabric between the light and the models so that it isn't too overpowering. The camera doesn't look too shabby and I bet you can get a better picture if you work the light a bit. =)
They look really bland as it is though, just a few shades of some dark colour.
I am a little bit concerned with the color scheme. At the moment, it's just dark green, black, and silver. I'm wondering if I should switch it so they don't get confused with their parent chapter, the Dark Angels.
I'm thinking red robes with silver armor, although they'd all look like Techpriests, and I'm fairly certain they'd share a color scheme with the Guardians of the Covenant.
Im fed up with painting Stern Guard white (helmets), im going to paint the helmets scab red instead to go with the theme of my chapter. Paint always shows through white and most of the time it looks messy.

Maybe have black robes with silver on the edges, and a mixture of dark green armour with red on minor details such as shoulder armour, knee armour etc?
One plus about Retribution is that it doesn't use GFWL, but i thought the campaign didn't have much effort put into it.
It would be more fun if it were different for every race, like, if you were Chaos, you'd go on a Black Crusade, if you were Orks, you'd go looting or unleashing a WAAAGH some sub-sector, if you were Imperial Guard, defend Cadia or something, if you were Eldar, you would defend some Craftworld, not really sure what would fit for Eldar, if you were Tyranids, i don't know what would fit for them either, but anyway.
For all 6 races to track down and kill [sp]Azariah Kyras[/sp] is a bit dumb.
The only race which actually had a reason to go track him down and kill him were the Space Marines.
Anyway, to me, what was great about the DoW2: Retribution Space Marine campaign was that Martellus was a squad member.
Wait, didn't Martellus die? Just like Apollo Diomedes?
No wait I just checked Lexicanum, wow I thought Martellus was always supposed to be the traitor but apparently he's the fallback guy. Wow.

How to paint white easily:
-Astronominican Grey
- 50/50 Astro Grey & Skull White
Watered down Blue wash
-Go back over with the Astro Grey, leaving recesses.
Skull White Highlights
Sorted. and because Astro grey is a foundation paint, it sticks well.
Red is a slightly difficult coloour to paint, except for mechrite red.

I'm going to see if I can drybrush some white onto the robes to give them a "reflection" appearance. However, I'm a bit hesitant to use red details with green armor, as that would mirror the Dark Angels color scheme.
I'm thinking I should almost scrap the whole "dark green" thing, and make them dark blue or black.
I'm just going to post these here. I don't want to copy them, but their color schemes are pretty sick.

Drybrushing will look awful for reflection, blending is a better option, kinda like the inner cloakon this guy

Hmm Rayven I wouldn't mind some tips on Blood Angels. I plan on getting back into it and I never really got good at painting. Then again I never thinned my paints (well, they weren't my paints so I didn't have permission, I'll buy my own paints).
Also I painted mine with black trim on the shoulder pads, is that reserved for veterans on BAs? I think it looks better than just all red, and it's actually how they do it on the guide on the GW site (but in the codex they're completely red)

Yeah black and red always looks good, maybe a bit too much of that silver for my taste though. That second one that's blue is sexy as hell, looks pretty khorne though.
for a fairly easy, albeit darker red. Mechrite Red, then a wash of 75% Baal Red and 25% Badab Black (mixed together) then MEchrite red for Highlights. (I dont play blood angels, just these space hulk ones are BA termies)
I don't thin my paints, I just wipe off excess from my brush and use that and my own control. Also, don't thin them in the bottle, get somethign to use as a palette (either a plastic one or a tile or something) get some paint out of the bottle, put it on the tile and thin it down there.
BA's are a Codex Chapter so black trim would indicate 5th Company, though since I don't own the BA Codex, I dunno if it symbolises anythign particular with the BA (Well, aside from the Death Company painting all their armour black)
Or save yourself the hassle and get The Army Painter Pure Red Spray, and then wash with appropriate washes and do the details etc and you're all set.

All of the Omega Lords chapter.
And no, they are not all finished. Some are very old and Ive never fixed them, some Ive just done a very bad job on.
So that ultramarine pack for Retribution is seven dollars.
Not exactly worth it for a model pack, looks nice though.
Suppose it's worth it you you like the Ultras and play MP Matches a lot, otherwise, yeah not worth it.
But is it 40k? I think not.
Yeah, but well, theirs no fantasy thread, and i felt it'd fit here. :<
Warhammer Fantasy is actually pretty decent as far as fantasy goes, unfortunately Warhammer Online did it absolutely no justice.
Warhammer Fantasy is actually pretty decent as far as fantasy goes, unfortunately Warhammer Online did it absolutely no justice.
How so?
Warhammer Online wasn't that bad, at least in my opinion.
I feel like I'm really stuck at a dead end here. I just had a really bad painting session, and I feel like I cannot achieve a dark blue/green color without getting a shiny annoying texture.
I'm inclined to just adopt a silver and red color scheme, but the Guardians of the Covenant have already claimed that.
So if I preorder SM on steam anyone want to trade for my copy of Darksiders (since I already own it)?

Why not gift it to a friend?
Oh hey this stuff is still around. I should post and follow the thread. :v:
I had a thread back when there was still a forum, mostly for ideas on what I should paint my Eldar army. I finally settled on a scheme and all, now I just need to get painting. I think I've got a pretty solid army now. I had a Farseer, 2 Dire Avenger squads (full squads of 10 with 1 Exarch each), and a squad of Howling Banshees (full squad of 10 with an Exarch). Played a few games and figured out that my biggest weakness was vehicles. Only my Banshee Exarch could do anything against them, and I had to get a charge to hit back armor, and she had to get lucky with her power glaive. Kind of sucked.
But, just yesterday, a friend that doesn't play gave me his old army. I got another Farseer, a third squad of Dire Avengers, a heavy weapons platform (old pewter models), and a Wave Serpent. For free! :buddy: So I'm in the process of stripping the models down (he, or the previous owners if he bought them used, was an idiot and tried painting an unprimed pewter model), and I did a shitty job priming over them. So best to start over, right?
Oh, and my 7 year old sister is kind of into 40K as well. She has her own "army" of 4 Guardians, which she painted herself. :v:

What do you mean?
Though, in this case, you should just get some eldar anti-vehicle unit, so i'm guessing that Fire Dragons would be adequate for anti-vehicle?
How did you create that icy base raven? i planned for my nids to have "evolved" on a devoured snow world and that looks so much better than citadel snow.
