I feel like a douche for doing this, but can someone give me a brief summary of what this game is, what kind of genre of gaming should I like to get into this game, and what game I should start on if I care about the story?

So how are the sounds? Like, Boltgun and Plasma Gun and stuff?
So how are the sounds? Like, Boltgun and Plasma Gun and stuff?
We only have Bolter Pistol, Bolter, Vengeance Launcher and the sniper bolter (forget the name) in the demo so no idea bout the plasma but all the bolters sound great. The Chainsword sounds fantastic.
It plays similar to Gears of War but is much better because its Warhammer.
I think he is actually talking about W40k in general.

I heard you can explode bullets by hitting R after they hit an enemy?

If you mean the Tabletop its basically an round-based strategy game using miniatures and other stuff. Liking warhammer would normally require you to like RTS or strategy games in general, but with the upcoming game Space Marine, you'll probably enjoy it if you like third person shooter action coated with blood and explosions. I beleive the PC/console games wont give you much of the real fluff that is going on, but will give you a little bit of info on the universe. If you like reading you could give some of the many WH40K books a try. There are even some audiobooks and comic if you prefer. It's basically a minelayer gun

Though, imagine how awesome that will be once we find a Heavy Bolter in the actual game.
I cant help but to imagine how sweet will be we we get the storm bolter
Just brought some books for £1 each - Giantslayer, Sword of the Empire, Blood Royal and Ravenor. No idea if any of them are part of a series which requires me to read the previous books.
Salamander head addon, this is incredible
Salamander head is nowhere near black enough.
Giantslayer is part of the ongoing Gotrek and Felix Saga. It chronicles the adventures of a Dwarf Slayer and his Human Companion, Felix Jeager as they travel the Old World in an attempt to find something mighty enough to best Gotrek in single combat. Previous reading isn't required though some characters may return. Ravenor is a spin-off of the Eisenhorn Omnibus, personally I'd recommend that over Ravenor anyday but it still works as a self-contained arc.

Space Marine: Get the Demo if you preorder on Steam....except, it doesn't have it in the store page for us UKers.
It's sad that none of my friends know about this amazing lore.
Shit yes the bolters have smoke trails and explode.
All the games are both non-canon and canon at the same time to me.
Maybe something like the Warhammer Fantasy RPG. It uses elements from Warhammer Fantasy yet is both non-canon yet canon
I've a feeling Jon Favreau would be great to direct a 40k movie. I mean, he's worked with Iron Man. But of course, story wise, I think someone else would be better. Jon Favreau was great with the Iron Man Armour.
What do you guys think? Also, will spacemarines allow mods? I'll love to play as a terminator.
I just realized that a Grey Knight Grand Master can pull off 3 Creeds at once. dear god
No one can pull more Creeds than Ursarkar himself.
Does anyone know if any of the following are worth reading, i have the previous books in the series. Soul drinkers - Crimson tears, Chapter war, Hellforged Dawn of war - Dawn of War, Dawn of War: Tempest Blood angels omnibus Titanicus Grey knights - Hammer of Daemons Ultramarines - Killing Ground, Courage and Honour Space wolf - Sons of Fenris, Wolf honour Armageddon omnibus
Space Wolf series is great
Space Wolf series is great
I've read the other 4, was just wondering if it's worth picking up the last two. I don't like omnibuses unless i have no choice so i'll see if i can find the last two individually.
Although the beggining of each book kinda ruins any possible suspense.
All of the Ultramarines are really good in my opinion but I don't think I'd have enjoyed Killing Ground as much without reading the Omnibus before.
Maybe something like the Warhammer Fantasy RPG. Titanicus is great if you want an idea of titan warfare, the Ultramarines is the current longest series by the same author (i think) I would also highly recommend Helsreach if you haven't got that yet.
Titanicus is great if you want an idea of titan warfare, the Ultramarines is the current longest series by the same author (i think) I would also highly recommend Helsreach if you haven't got that yet.
The only books i have so far i got REALLY cheap (under half price) in a Black Library sale a few years ago (other than the 4 i got today for £1 each). I've got: Soul drinker The bleeding chalice Dead sky black Sun Warriors of ultramar Nightbringer Dark Adeptus Grey Knights Dawn of War Ascension For the Emperor Caves of Ice The Traitors Hand Ragnars claw Wolfblade Space wolf Crusade for Armagedeon Conquest of Armagedeon The Last chancers omnibus Ravenor Blood royal Giantslayer Swords of the Empire No idea what's came out in the past few years that's worth getting, although the Horus Heresy series looks interesting.
