For some people asking how to get into the lore, heres what I did to get into it (about two months ago.) I would recommend first to just keep following this thread. You pick up on things rather quickly. Second, read a Warhammer book series. I read Gaunt's Ghosts; a series I would highly recommend. (I have so much fething respect for Imperial Guardsmen now.) Third, browse the wiki. If there's a term or a person talked out in either the thread or the book that you're confused about, look it up. Usually that starts a wiki reading spree and by the time its over, you come out much more knowledgeable. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] And remember, the Emperor protects.
i want to take the ultra holding the heavy bolter please!
Looks like you've gone for Ultramarines then.... Everyone does.
Goddammit, where is the Store Page for Space Marine? I want my demo!
Looks like you've gone for Ultramarines then.... Everyone does.
yeah, cos they're the good guys (jk)
Good is a relative term in the 40k universe. By our standards, no one is really good. But within the grim-dark 40k universe some factions are better than others.
yeah, cos they're the good guys (jk)
The only ones which are actually 'good' are the Tau - and by 'good' i mean they won't always shoot you on sight.
The only ones which are actually 'good' are the Tau - and by 'good' i mean they won't always shoot you on sight.
wow.. warhammer factions seem like arses..
wow.. warhammer factions seem like arses..
All of them are, the Tau are the least bad because their technology is actually getting better, their empire is expanding and they actually give other races a chance to join them instead of just shooting them. The Tau Empire is made up of lots of different races who joined the empire (E.g Kroot, Vespid, Niccassar, Demiurg, a few Humans, The 4 different 'species' of Tau etc) unlike everyone else in W40K who is pretty much on their own. That sometimes doesn't go too well for the Tau though (They tried to be friends with the Necrons and Dark Eldar) but it doesn't stop them from trying. Can you explain why you are going for Space Marines though, instead of one of the other more diverse/unique armies?
To me, Dark Heresy was the thing that indoctrinated me into WH40K. Love ya for that, cyclocious.
Are we playing from a single Space Marine perspective, or are we following several Space Marines ? I would love to play as a Dreadnaught D:

Some Gameplay of the other marines: One version of that trailer also had a Carnifex.
i want to take the ultra holding the heavy bolter please!
You could ask for that in the Avatar Requests thread. Those types of threads are in the Creationism Corner.
There better be a dreadnought at some point. I hope you can play as one.

Downloading the demo on my brothers Xbox, where's my steam page Steam? I want to try the demo out :frown:
Downloading the demo on my brothers Xbox, where's my steam page Steam? I want to try the demo out :frown:
You have to register on THQ's forum for some 'Honor Guard' program if you want to play it today. Otherwise you have to wait until tomorrow.
Pretty awesome, though, i noticed that you used to post fan art a lot more, I'm guessing it's hard to find good fan art?
That, and the older stuff that I find I'm pretty sure you've all seen before; so I don't want to bore you guys.

Those faces on his knee guards are rather silly.
So, Chaos, corrupted Space Marines who worship 4 Chaos gods, a god of plague, a god of knowledge/trickery, a god of blood and a god of pleasure isn't special enough? And the Tau, who probably have the most advanced weapons in the 41st millenium, which fight for the Greater Good isn't special either? They really could do with a bit of marketing for every race, even if it could affect their sales in some way. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] New necrons? Continue, if you'd please, as i thought only Necron Immortals and Necron Lords actually had a bit of personality/memory.
The tau are potentially the most primitive larger sized species of the galaxy. Well the orks are cruder. Essentially everything they have is technologically miles behind the imperium. The only reason they essentially have chance is due to different design principles. The imperium has incredibly rugged - management less technology that works no matter what, runs on anything, and barely needs any maintenance. Anything else would almost be impossible to maintain. The tau on the other hand, have incredibly maintenance high equipment. Which essentially allows it to perform barely on par with imperial. Just compare crisis suit plasmas, which are more or less the size of an imperial plasma cannon. And a bunch of other stuff. Essentially once the tau become a larger empire (they're tiny for now) they will start running into logistics problems. Since their equipment just isn't as rugged. Keep in mind that the Tau aren't as good either. There's rumours of forced sterilisation of client species, viral plagues targeting them and a few other stuff. Likewise they've been incredibly lucky for the time being. - Not a single possessed psyker on any of otheir human client worlds, apparently no geanstealer cults yet either, no enslavers - ought I continue?
Basically unless they find a way to fix the Golden throne, the Emperor will die at some point and shit will really hit the fan. Right?
While i'd like to be a dreadnought in SM myself, i'm p sure it won't happen - after all dred's a walking coffin, so playing as a dred would mean killing Titus off - and that would be a shame, since he seems to be a nice guy :<
