Never understood the Ultramarine hate. If there wasn't a standard chapter then it wouldn't be as cool when other chapters deviate from the norm.
Worse than the Ultra hate is the idea that Tyranids are absolutely unstoppable and never lose. The Ultramarines will kick the Tyranids ass so hard that they won't be able to use that biomass for anything else than urine to piss themselves for a few years. Why? Because Ultramarines are GW's poster chapter. they are on every cover and a lot of people recognize them as Warhammer, so they won't let them lose (they will have them take heavy casualities to make it look more heroic though).
The Nids and Necrons will never ACTUALLY win, and anyone with a half a brain can see that, cause if they do it's immediate rewrite time. SM are also the most lucrative property within the franchise, so they aren't going anywhere, which means the imperium isn't either, that doesn't mean that individual elements can't be moved around. Ultramarines are far from the most popular chapter for rather obvious reasons. Every focus test and poll provided that GW didn't run themselves, Ultrasmurfs have rated 5th at best. Writing's on the wall.
Ultramarine hate
Coming from the guy who thinks Gaunt is a Mary Sue, defending Calgar is pretty droll. UltraSmurfs have pretty much been the posterchild for Mary Suedom since day one.

I never understood the Ultramarines hateful reputation either.
Is it because they're overrated or overestimated?
I'd think the Black Templars would be much better poster boys.

Every poll conducted outside of GW says the same thing.
Templars are either first or second behind Grey knights, almost unilaterally.

Sturn and I.G. for Poster Men of Warhammer 40k.
That guardsmen who stood up to Horus should be poster man of 40k.

He was Retconned from that.
Now he's still a saint, but no one knows what for.

Didn't it get retconned multiple times? First a guardsmen, then a custodian, then a marine or something.
Didn't it get retconned multiple times? First a guardsmen, then a custodian, then a marine or something.
First Guardsman, then marine, then Custodian.
It's heresy, I tell you what.

I agree. They took the badassery away from it. A tiny guardsmen standing up to a giant monster of a primarch.
Said guardsman being named Olianus Pious a rather ironic surname given how things were in the crusade/heresy.

They should just made him a Commissar, if they really need to make him an equal of Horus.
They should just made him a Commissar, if they really need to make him an equal of Horus.
You do realise that Commissars were only introduced WAY after the heresy, don't you?
And technically Olianus Pious wasn't a guardsman, As Imperial Guard didn't exist then.
You do realise that Commissars were only introduced WAY after the heresy, don't you?
Sir, are you implying that Commissars are incapable of time travel to combat heresy?!
Sir, are you implying that Commissars are incapable of time travel to combat heresy?!
Time Travel is heresy, therefore the Commissar would have to execute himself, thus preventing him from actually travelling back in time.
Time Travel is heresy, therefore the Commissar would have to execute himself, thus preventing him from actually travelling back in time.
But Paradoxes are also Heresy so the Commisar would Execute the Paradox somehow.
Time Travel is heresy, therefore the Commissar would have to execute himself, thus preventing him from actually travelling back in time.
He goes back in time, BLAMS Horus, and they are mutually erased from time as the timeline fixes itself, leading Tau Empire to take over Imperium.
Wait, never mind, send another one in to blam the first one.
Olianus Pious :patriot:
It was alot better when he was a basic Guardsman. Being a Marine or Custodian kinda took away the Heroism.
What colour scheme should I paint my space marines?
Should I get a codex as there is only a small fanbase here?
If so what should I get?(Download Angry Marines?:v:)

Paint them entirely white with black eyes.
Write a creepypasta about them.
make them deathwatch so you can have a fuckton of chapters

They are currently all Foundation black with red eyes, awaiting a suggestion and more paint.
What are the colours required in a Raven Guard colour scheme? A fuck-load of foundation black? Or is there a specific Black to be used in addition? And how to paint the Ravens? A steady hand?

I think it's more like a teaser trailer than a regular one.
