It's not very likely to find that many monoliths outside of Apocalypse anyway
At 235 points each, they arent very costly.
Can you use two Monoliths that are already in formation with a fourth one to make another simultaneous formation? [editline]29th August 2011[/editline] I guess not but still, possible?
At 235 points each, they arent very costly.
Never seen more than one monolith in a normal TT game
Never seen more than one monolith in a normal TT game
That's probably because they're fairly expensive. If i'm not mistaken, one monolith is 35 pounds.
Prbably because of the monolith stats themselves,One of the nastiest vehicles around.
If I was rich I would make a necron apocalypse army with monolith spam.
No love for Kriegers in here? For shame. Death Korps of Krieg; BEST Korps of Krieg. [editline]28th August 2011[/editline] PAGE STRETCH, AWAY!
How did you come to the conclusion that there was no love for the Kriegers here? They're my favorite Imperial Guard regiment.
If I was rich I would make a necron apocalypse army with monolith spam.
I'd rather get titans from forge world
I'd rather get titans from forge world
More like Mantas.
Just tried out the Spacemarine demo, and damn am I impressed. Fun gameplay, optimized well, great graphics, spehss mareens, the whole enchilada. Unfortunately though there are too many other awesome games coming out soon :v:
Really the only thing I'm wary of about Space Marine is if its 5 hours long or something.
Really the only thing I'm wary of about Space Marine is if its 5 hours long or something.
I worry that there's no lightning claws, powerfists or that there's too little jump pack sections :(
Really the only thing I'm wary of about Space Marine is if its 5 hours long or something.
My guess is that the game will be about 8-12 hours. And depending on if the boss fights will be rather challenging, the gameplay time might be even longer.
Don't forget coop after release, and verses

Even though Skyrim is coming out in a few months, and DX:HR has recently been released, i'd still suggest getting this game.
Not designed as much as Designated, pretty much almost every Marine Weapon dates back to before the Heresy, during the crusade, albeit with some upgrades. and I think that 600m factoid is wrong, maybe not quite that far, though Marines can throw them hard enough that the greande doesn't need to blow up to kill a regular person.
A top of the line athlete can throw a spear to close to 100 meters. I'd say a marine is without doubt at least ten times stronger and more able in every regard. On top of that when you add in the strength enhancements and stabilization from marine armour.
Wait a second... people say the Tau have pretty much the most powerful ranged weapons, but I always thought the Necron's standart guns that can pierce through tank plating with ease.
Tau weapons look flashy, but they are about a tech generation behind human weapons. Though as said before, their tech philosphy allows them to be a bit stronger than a human weapon of the same caliber. Though while the difference between the Lasgun and pulse weapons isn't that high since the imperium goes for robustness mostly, it really really shows in the more esoteric weapons. Since most human infantry weapons of that caliber can be more often than not compared to battlesuit weapons. I mean as technology goes I'd say the list could be kroot<Ork (questionable)<Tau<Imperial<eldar<<<necron Essentially necron technology is so far ahead, that imperial scientist don't even have the slightest clues how they work. It's like you brought a microprocessor to the seventeenth century. They could send power in, but would have no clue how it works, since they basically don't have the tools to even look at the thing. Just how much more advanced eldar tech is to imperial is questionable, since it's very psychic based. As to the differences between Tau and imperial tech. The gap there is massive as well. But due to the absolute sheer simplicity and idiot proofing of human tech - in some cases - means that it's incredibly easy to understand. This of course doesn't count for all their technology, but most likely for the core. The main difference between human and tau technology is not how advanced one is though. It's how much of the technology is amongst the public. Essentially the tau are currently on a level where they put their technology to use in almost anything. Drones are everywhere even when not needed. And while drones tend to perform worse than servitors, just the sheer amount of the tech everywhere makes the Tau seem seemingly more advanced. The imperium has learned better in a sense.
Never seen more than one monolith in a normal TT game
Isn't that moslty due to necron phase out rules. Aka most played will rather pick a few extra counts as necron units in order to not get phased out. But well at the end of the day, there's virtually nothing in the galaxy that's compareable to space marines.
kroot<Tau<Imperial<eldar<necron<Ork
Naw, da Ork tek is da best! Fixed fer you puny humie!
Yeah you could go heavy but you'd be vulnerable as fuck to the Phase Out Rule, also, what I got from the Necron Codex is that Gauss weapons do not have triggers and is fired by the actual necron wielding it rather than any sort of trigger system (kinda like how Titan Princeps fires its titan weapons directly via MIU)
People been worried about how short the game might be. Dont forget, beside multi and coop people pointed out, there will be probably a bunch of DLCs to be released, or even expansions.
Naw, da Ork tek is da best! Fixed fer you puny humie!
I'm sorry, but when I imagine Ork tech this is all that comes to mind.

SQUAD BROKEN
Naw, da Ork tek is da best! Fixed fer you puny humie!
well ork tech is really a chapter of it's own. It somehow is a part of their genetic code and advancements seem to spread over it as well. Like grot bombs. But hardly anything out to work, but it does which makes it really hard to quantify. Also keep in mind, that in some cases Tau tech can seem as more powerful on the paper but is worse. Comparing Pulse rifle and Lasgun again. The rifle is stronger than the lasgun. But even that can tear of heads, limbs and in some cases be used to fight trough walls. But while you can leave the lasgun somewhere in the swamp for a decade, find it, throw the powerpack into the sun to recharge and go happy merry killing stuff with it again, there's just no way you can do that with the pulse rifle.
Shame, no vehicles in spacemarines. Not needed, but would be pretty fucking fun to use those mechs etc.
Orks have looted carnifexes so they're p cool I'm thinking of buying some Ork models because I've got the 40k itch again, I'll probably never start playing the TT because I'm too socially retarded but building looted things is too fun. And I need another hobby.
