Well, it is a Rapid Fire weapon in Tabletop :V
But tabletop has weird Rapid Fire weapons. It feels more like semi automatic. Assault on the other hand, are rapid fire.
Although, only one of your specialists could shoot per shooting phase. So you can't fire all of your special weapons, at once, but you can fire any of them.
And why?

I always thought lasguns should be Assault 3 or 4
You know I just thought I had to pop in and say that although I only played the demo of it, Warhammer: Space Marine is really, really fun. Although I have to ask, how faithful is it in terms of weaponry/mannerisms to the canon? I could've sworn previous games (such as Fire Walker) tended to stray a bit.
They need to stop you from receiving damage while doing executions on it, that was the only real quarrel I had with it, that and I thought the bolter felt a bit weak.

Because your hatch will only allow one (or is it two ,i forget not got my codex to hand) people to shoot from the hatch.

I thought the damage during executions was fine. Even on Hard. Just do the AoE stun so you don't get hit if you need the health from an execution.

There is only one problem with that game. The animators went to all that trouble to create some interesting finishing moves, and then they decided to hide it all behind THREE MILLION GALLONS OF BLOOD AND GORE.
It's like you pick an ork up, get surrounded by a big cloud of red, then suddenly the ork has no head.

Chimeras have 5 firing ports.

Plus hatch.

It's necessary so you can't just spam executions while in the middle of a mob of orks.
Also makes the game alot more challenging.
You need to know when to execute and when to run and bolt their asses off.
Hillarious part when i try to execute a nob with the power axe, the axe get stuck in his face and when i'm about to finish the other nob comes and strike me in the guts. Seems like it was almost scripted.

I think up to 5 models can fire at once from the hatch (i.e the only place you can shoot from)
I think up to 5 models can fire at once from the hatch (i.e the only place you can shoot from)
No, it's got 5 firing ports yet it's assumed all shots come from the hatch. Exact codex wording. So I would be able to fire all my special weapons plus two lasguns.
Yeah, never really used chimeras myself, so forgot the wordingetc etc.
Though shooting is still limited to weaponr range so if you moved, your LAsguns would be reduced to 12" range, heavy flamer would be template, meltagun 12" etc etc
Anyway, Zezibesh, if you're still having trouble about finding a good color scheme for that custom chapter of yours, how would this do?

Also, regarding the Tyranid DLC on Retribution..
Basically, every Tyranid unit (excluding the Genestealer) get these red, glowing spores/dots on their body.
Here's a few screenshots.

That color scheme looks pretty decent. I've got three I'm gonna try, and whichever looks the best on a model is what I'm gonna use.
I think we should write our own Codex. All of this thread. Seems more plausible than playing VASSAL IMO.
Might go back to 1v1 Ret just for that Tyranid DLC.
I think I was on a 10+ game win streak.

Uh, what? So you think us making our own game playing rules, which we'll likely never play because we'll never meet, is more plausible than a system thats got a module to actually PLAY 40K online?
No.

where do I exacly find the exact rules and definitions for different weapon classes?
my rulebook mentions them but never says what they really are. Pissed me the fuck off when I played TT.

Then you're reading the rulebook wrong.
27-32 of the mini rulebook you get with AOBR, also summarized at the back.
I already played some games on VASSAL.
I can imagine it being much easier to "control" than tabletop.
Oh and cheaper too.
So much cheaper...

They did it in Dawn of war, whenever a unit went into a sync kill they would stop receiving damage. I just think it ruins the fun of the execution kills when you have to risk getting your ass kicked while doing it.

Dawn of War 2, you mean?
Or did it apply in both DoW1 and DoW2?
Anyway, i think you actually do get some damage in kill sync, but that damage is extremely low, at least.

Easier to control in what way?
And sure its good for playing folks internationally, still doesnt beat playin it in person though

It was only in DOW 1.
I'm used now to sitting there watching one of my units do a kill animation while I furiously click away only for them to get killed while the animation plays.

SM is more fluff accurate than tabletop in SP, you can expect MP to be rather different to due to balancing concerns, same as DoW has been. The plot itself is also pretty high stakes from the initial set up, but I would hazard things to "return to status quo" ala a Marvel or DC annual even, where the implications are what's going on will change the balance of fluff power, but then by the end everything is pretty much back to business as usual. Additionally some of the late-game power up attacks are a bit on the Matt Ward side of redonkulous as well. (but hey it's ultra smurfs so that's actually canon)
Foul greenskins
Everything is greenskins to an apoc.
Also is it just me or are the Dark Eldar not very "present"? I mean I had actually forgotten about them, and nearly no-one ever talks about them.
I have to say though, I like the new Dark Eldar models.

Dark Eldar be awesome. They're very background in how they operate, they don't directly intervene. But when they do, they devastate entire systems and steal Imperial STCs.
