Wait what the fuck do the Necrons have.
And there's bigger titans than what you can buy on table top (from FW), so sucks for xenos
They have that satellite disk thing, i think it was called a pylon.
Pretty sure the Shokk Attakk Gun has catastrophically awesome results tables.
Mad Dok + Mad Mek > Void Shields.
Or teleport squigs into the reactor. Works on everything except nids.
I thought Orks used snotlings instead of squigs when it comes to teleporting?
Necron Pylons are just turrets.
They would make a great call-in ability for necrons if they were ever added into DoW2.
Teleport turret.
So Space Marine / THq are having a contest to give away some big alienware desktop, reading through the rules and regulations (because I'm cool like that)
If a selected prize winner is a resident of Canada, then he/she, in addition to all other requirements set out in these Official Rules, also must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered at a pre-arranged time by telephone.
Haha what
I thought Orks used snotlings instead of squigs when it comes to teleporting?
Snotlings bite less, but squigs do more damage, ergo, Titan versus Terminator.
Flash Gitz models are really fun to make and customize, but IIRC they're pretty useless on TT due to the point cost
Flash Gitz are like a dodgy grenade, if you throw it too far, it will miss and serve no purpose, and if you throw it too near its likely that its going to ruin your day. You have to be really lucky to not mess up your throw.
Against SM termies they are mostly useless even with all the upgrades as they don't have a BS higher than 2, and its unlikely you'll get a good roll on the AP table. Mobbing targets with like Termies is the best way to do it.
I haven't tested them on fodder (like guardsmen and guardians), but in theory I guess they could do some good damage.
Necron Pylons are just turrets.
But i think somebody said that they were probably the only super heavy/titan like unit the Necrons had in this thread before.
So I started playing Retribution, and I started as IG first. I thought they were cool, but then I decided to play as Space Marines. I'm crazy in love with Martellus. He gets the ability to shit down a turret anywhere, anytime, for a piddling amount of energy. And you can deploy even more turrets with the rather low cost of 100 zeal.
A huge majority of my kills during the campaign are from using a mixture of sentry traps and taunting enemies into the arc of the heavy bolters. So fun. :v:

Another guy who likes Martellus, i always liked to let him have a melta gun and melta bombs, the rest of my squad could just be full offensive, because i could always rely on Martellus to take down a vehicle. :buddy:
Though, do you think his voice is badass?
Jesus Christ, I remember playing Fire Warrior when I was little.
The Guardsmen had autoguns.
AUTOGUNS.
Isn't that equivalent to using, like, a flintlock rifle?

In TT, autoguns are quite similar to lasguns in terms of power. Even though they're projectile weapons, they can still have some heavy hitting features like adamantine tips or being frangible rounds. Who knows!
Pretty sure that some IG regiments do use autoguns though, for one reason or another.

Yeah, I think he's pretty badass. I'm glad he wasn't the canon traitor from Chaos Rising.
My only issue with Martellus is that I wish he could get twin-linked multilaser turrets like the IG. They're totally so much cooler than heavy bolter turrets. :v:

As old as autoguns may be, they're still commonly used by the Imperial Guard.

You'd think somebody might have improved on the pattern a bit before they were conquered by the robots they'd built. At the moment, it's basically a blocky M4.
Have some more advertising for Space Marine

A bit cheesy
INFORMATUS
Haha that just sounds silly.
A bit cheesy
Better than "I am the Space Marine" one. I just could not keep myself from laughing when it showed that woman.
Also, Thunderhammer looks just right.
God those are so cheesy yet SO
AWESOME
So I sort of want to get into the Warhammer 40k universe. The wargame is far too expensive for me to take a look, but the pen-and-paper RPG by Fantasy Flight seems interesting. Where should I start? I figured I might grab the Dark Heresy or Deathwatch core rulebook and work from there.
Oh, and is the combat narrative-based? Or grid-based? DnD always frustrated me a bit with its extreme reliance on having a grid... the few times I played with my friends, we spent far more time staring at the board then we did actually role-playing.
I think they rely on a more story-telling system, so no need of the grid.
Personally I find the actual lore of the Warhammer universe much more interesting that the TT game.
I stick to the books and the videogames.
Can't wait for Space Marine.
Is there any ranking system online and unlocks/customization?
Table top just seems boring as fuck for me, really. All the games are fun as shit, never touched the books, not much of a reader, have to eventually though.
Fuuuuu
Just managed to record a full multiplayer game of Final Liberation but a sound desync has resulted in zero sound, the TS recording backup is also 10 minutes short due to the desync.
What on earth do you put over 30 mins of confusing turn/dice based footage?

The TT game is much more interesting when you combine it with the fluff. There are various campaigns that both follow a narrative and give some interactivity.
I'll use the Defense of Rynns World campaign as an example, or perhaps the kill team article "Purge the Heretic" from elite week.

Lets all recreate the sounds and voices using nothing but silly fart sounds from our armpits and mouths

Just place the soundtrack over it. Hearing "Commissar, Commissar" over and over gets annoying.
Also, what are you using to record?
Oh man this book.
